(My sister drives me crazy sometimes… Oh my gosh…)
“Yeah… There is,” Devon agreed softly, looking at Layla. A small smile lifted the edges of her lips. “And that’s Layla, for me.”

(oof what happened?)
Sebastian couldn't help but mirror her smile and let out a little 'aww'. "It must be nice.." He trailed off.
(So she started playing music pretty loudly, and I have my own music playing on my headphones. I politely asked her to put headphones in, and do you know what she does instead? She plays it over a speaker even louder!
She did eventually play it quieter, but she was really annoying for about five minutes… And she has headphones in now, but she’s watching Fuller House on Netflix. Lol.)
“It is, yeah,” Devon agreed, her blush returning when she looked up at him. He ‘aww’ed at her! She wasn’t trying to be cute, it was the truth…
(big oof, siblings can be annoying sometimes.. younger sibling, I'm guessing?)
Devon was blushing, and for some strange reason, it was only adding to the pile of nervousness. Why was he like this? Why couldn't he just be casual and normal for once? The thought was written all over his face, and since he'd completely let down his guard, it escaped his notice.
(Yup. I’m the oldest. Out of all the grandkids, too. Lol. There are… thirteen? of us now, I think…? And that’s just my mom’s side. Lol.)
He looked nervous… Why would he be nervous? Did Devon make him nervous? But she wasn’t doing anything…
“Um… So, anyway… Did you have any plans after this?” Devon asked, chewing on her lip as she looked at Layla to avoid meeting his eyes.
(lol that sounds a bit like my family)
Sebastian fixed his eyes on the little girl as well, unable to look her in the eye. "Not really.." he replied, forcing the volume of his weak voice up. "Did you?" God, he sounded hopeful. Why did he sound hopeful?
(Well, granted, there are seven kids in that side of my family. Lol. And technically only two are my blood relatives: my mom and my aunt. It’s a long story…)
“No. Well, I was going to go grocery shopping later, but I can do that tomorrow,” Devon said with a shrug as she finally dared to lift her gaze to Sebastian.
(lol)
Sebastian could feel her looking at him, but steeled himself and kept his eyes on Layla, trying to sort out his incredibly confused feelings. "If you're sure…?"
Layla wiggled a bit in her sleep, making a soft sound. Her lips twitched as she smiled slightly.
“I mean, if— If, um, you wanted to do something together….” Devon said with a shrug, suddenly feeling nervous again.
Sebastian didn't answer for a full three seconds. When he finally gathered the courage, he looked up to meet Devon's eyes and smiled, surprisingly warmly. "I'd love to. What do you want to do?"
Devon hadn't actually expected him to agree. She didn't have anything planned that they could do…
"Um.. We could take Layla to a park? Or… Uh, go to the… Um… I actually have no idea," she admitted with a sheepish smile.
Her sheepishness only served to widen the smile on Sebastian’s face, though he had no idea why. “Uhh…. what about— what about a movie? I don’t know, I don’t usually go on social outings.”
Devon chuckled a bit, her smile growing slightly. “Neither do I, honestly. But if we wanted to bring Layla, I don’t think a movie would be such a good idea. Unless I should see if my parents will take her for a bit?”
Sebastian gave a shrug, biting down on his bottom lip. “It’s up to you, I don’t want to intrude.. or overstep anything..”
"Well… Um, I think my parents wanted to see her soon, anyway, so… I could drop her off there and we could see a movie?" Devon said with a shrug, blushing slightly.
“Sure,” he agreed quickly, nodding. “What movies are on right now?”
“Um… I’m not actually sure,” Devon admitted. “I could look some up?”
"Sure," Simon agreed, shifting Layla's weight slightly just in case she tipped. "What kind of movies do you like?"
Oh my god.. I'm planning a movie.. with a girl.. what am I doing?
“I like most movies. Though I’d prefer to stay in the PG-13 or under range,” Devon said with a shrug. “But my favorites are either action, adventure, or sci-fi.”
Sebastian thought for a moment. He hadn’t actually set foot in a movie theatre in years. “What about… isn’t there a new Marvel movie? Infinity something or other?”
“Infinity War? Yeah, I think that’s out still. I’ve seen it already, but I would definitely see it again,” Devon said, nodding slowly.
“Oh, if you’ve seen it already, then maybe something else…” he trailed off, thinking. “‘Venom?”
"Hm… I knew it was out, but I hadn't thought about seeing it," Devon mused, biting her lip in thought. "Did it look good?"
“I think? I don’t know, I haven’t watched any movies in.. a while,” Sebastian admitted, his hand reaching up to subconsciously rub at the bruise under his collar.
"Well, I think it was supposed to be good… I'm good with seeing it if you are," Devon said, her gaze shifting to Layla, who had stirred slightly. The girl stayed sleeping, but Devon figured that it wouldn't be long before she woke up.
