Should we skip to when he goes to pay?)
(Yeah, that’s fine. Do you want to start since it’s your thing?)
(Yeah sure
Confession: I’m not entirely sure how this works
At all)
(Well, I’m pretty sure he would pay with his card, but it would be declined. They could try it again, but it would continue to be declined.)
(Thanks, sorry)
After they were both done eating, a waiter brought them the bill. “I’ll pay,” Sebastian told Devon, slipping his wallet from his back pocket before she could protest and removing his card. He slid it into the slot…… only to have it declined. He tried again, but the results were identical. “What..?”
(Dw about it!)
Devon frowned slightly as she watched. She pulled her own wallet out of her purse and slipped her card from it. “I’ve got it, don’t worry. Can you call your bank and see what happened with your card?”
“Yeah…. sorry, Dev. I’ll pay you back..”
His brow furrowed as he withdrew his card, bafflement settling across his features.
(Ah!!!)
“Oh, it’s fine, really. I’ve got it,” Devon assured him as she paid and took her card back. “You should just see what happened.”
“Yeah…” he muttered, “Why dont you come over? I’ll call there.”
“Oh, sure. Yeah, I can do that,” Devon said, blinking a couple of times. “Do you want me to meet you there, or should I drive you?”
“Would you mind driving me?” Sebastian slipped his coat over his shoulders, biting the inside of his cheek.
“Not at all. Just back to your place, right?” Devon double checked, shifting a little bit as she waited for him.
Sebastian nodded, sliding out of the booth and getting to his feet. “Sorry..”
“Don’t worry about it, Sebastian. It’s fine,” Devon assured him with a small smile. She pulled her keys out and nodded toward the door. “You ready to go, then?”
“Yeah,” he sighed, following after her.
(Sure
not it)
(Yeah, I figured. Lol. I didn't say t for a reason. ;)
Devon pulled up to Sebastian's apartment not too long after they'd left, and she shifted the car into 'park'. She chewed on her lip for a moment before turning to Sebastian.
"Do you want me to come in with you? Or do you want to be alone?" she asked softly.
(Oof)
“You can do whatever you want…” he replied quietly, “But it would be nice to be with you a little longer.”
Devon nodded slowly before pulling the keys out of the ignition. “I’ll come in with you, then,” she said as she opened the car door.
“Thank you…”
Sebastian’s brow remained furrowed all the way up to his apartment, as if trying to figure out some sort of puzzle as they walked. Finally, he unlocked the door to his place and held it open for Devon, his mind far away.
Devon thanked him and stepped inside, glancing around as she waited for him.
“Is everything all right?” she asked softly when she turned her gaze to him again.
“Yeah… I’m just worried..”
Sebastian closed and locked the door behind them, pulling out his phone to call the bank.
“Hi, this is Sebastian Marcellus, there’s been an issue with my credit card?”
