(Can he request I can’t help falling in love with you, or whatever it’s called?)
(Is that the one Barry and Kasey danced to?)
“Sure. I’d like that,” Devon said, her smile widening.
(I don’t remember tbh
Wait you don’t know that song?
The Elvis one?)
Sebastian carefully manoeuvred himself so that he was behind her, still making sure to give her plenty of space as he reached over to place the fingers of his one hand on her elbow (the one of the hand that was strumming) and the others on the fingerboard. “Listen to me, then copy what I do.” He played a few starting chords and opened his mouth to inhale and sing.
(coughs awkwardly No…)
Devon listened as he sang, entranced by his voice. Gosh, he was so good… She had no idea someone could have such a good voice.
As he led her, she followed along, trying to memorize what he did and how he did it.
(Hhhhhhh
Look it up rn omg)
“Wise men say….” he sang, moving his fingers along the fingerboard. “Only fools rush in…” Sebastian turned his head to face her, a shy smile on his face. “But I… can’t… help… falling in love with… you…”
(AHHHHHHHH!!!!!! ASJDNSAKJNDLSAD!!!)
(Cute~ :3)
Devon blushed at the words of the song, glancing down at the body of the guitar. Falling in love? Maybe she was, but… she really wouldn’t know.
She hadn’t been in love with her only boyfriend, not really. It was honestly just a mutual attraction to each other, and everyone had just expected them to date. So they had. Until…
She sighed and refocused on the song. There was no point thinking about it now. It was over and done with, and she didn’t have to worry about him anymore.
Sebastian wasn’t quite sure if he meant the words, but he definitely knew that the attraction he felt was much more than a simple crush.
“Sorry, I’m a sucker for Elvis..” he mumbled, tapping her fingers. “Now, move your middle finger to this string..”
“It’s a nice song,” Devon said softly as she moved her finger. “There?”
“Yeah. Is it easier with or without the pick?” He shifted farther away from her, still blushing.
“Um… Without, I think,” Devon murmured, already missing the warmth that had come with his closeness.
“Alright.” He hummed. “What’s your favourite song?”
“Oh… Uh, Safe & Sound by Taylor Swift,” Devon answered softly. She liked her music, what could she say?
Sebastian rummaged around for his phone, before locating it, unlocking it, and using it to search for the song she'd requested. After giving it a quick listen, he gently took the guitar onto his lap and tested out a few chords. "Do these sound fine?"
Devon listened closely and nodded. “Yeah, it sounds great…” she said softly, watching him play.
"Alright, you try them." Sebastian handed the guitar back to her, indicating to where she should put her fingers. "Do you need me to sing along, or can you? Or do you not need vocals to guide you at all?"
(have you looked up the song yet?)
(I know most of the lyrics. Lol. I sang it in 7th grade choir.)
“I think I’ve got it…” Devon murmured as she strummed softly. She placed her fingers in the places Sebastian directed her to, glancing up at him to make sure she was doing it right. She wanted to make sure she got her chords down before actually singing to it.
(oh lol
I wish I had sung it in seventh grade choir!
wait, we are talking about the Elvis song, right?)
"Perfect," he assured her with an encouraging smile. "It sounds perfect."
(Oh, no, I thought you were asking about the TS one. Lol.
Yeah, I looked up the Elvis one.)
Devon blushed a little and continued to strum for a bit. Once she got to where she knew the lyrics started, she began to sing…
“I remember tears streamin’ down your face when I said, ‘I’ll never let you go.’.. When all those shadows almost killed your light…”
(oh lol whoops)
Sebastian was incredibly proud of himself for not melting into a tiny flustered puddle at the sound of her voice.
"You're doing great…" he murmured, "Fantastic, actually. Who knew you had such a beautiful voice?"
(Lol.)
Devon stumbled over the next lyrics at his words, blushing deeply. “O-oh… Thanks…”
"And you play really well for someone who's just started out." Sebastian slowed himself down after that, knowing that too many compliments would likely make her uncomfortable, no matter how true.
“Well, I had a good teacher,” Devon said softly, glancing over at him with bright pink cheeks.
Sebastian averted his eyes before his cheeks could catch fire for the millionth time that day. "Nah, I'd say you have a lot of talent."
“I don’t, really… I was more into drama in high school, not choir or instruments,” Devon argued, shaking her head. “You, on the other hand, have talent.”
