“So?” he argued. “You’re still fantastic! And I don’t really have talent… I just practice a lot.”
“So?” he argued. “You’re still fantastic! And I don’t really have talent… I just practice a lot.”
“Well, you’re still better than I am,” Devon said with a shrug, shooting him a quick smile.
“Yeah, because I’ve beeb playing since freshman year of high school.” He cracked a slightly rebellious grin that came out a little sad and a little happy all at the same time. “Behind my parents’ backs, mind you.”
Devon tilted her head slightly to one side curiously. “They didn’t like you playing guitar?”
Sebastian snorted. “Of course not. It was annoying and loud.”
“Oh… I’m sorry, Sebastian,” Devon said softly, reaching out to gently squeeze his hand. “Um… Did you want to help me finish the song?”
Sebastian’s expression took on a slightly perplexed look. Was what he’d said bad?
“Why are you sorry? And yeah, sure. For the pre-chorus, there’s this really cool technique, let me just remember how to tech it..”
Devon shrugged, blushing. “I just… I’m sorry your parents thought that, I guess…” she explained in quiet embarrassment. “Sure. Let me know when you’ve got it figured out.”
He gave an awkward shrug, not really considering it to be that big of a deal, though that maybe had to do with how he'd been raised. Vaguely, he remembered having to hide the second guitar he bought behind his parents' backs after watching his father smash the first one.
"I think…. it's like this…." he murmured, trying out a quick method before handing the guitar back to her. "Okay, so just put your fingers here…"
Devon nodded and followed his instructions. She wasn’t perfect in learning everything, obviously, but she thought she was doing pretty well. And she got to learn from Sebastian, so that certainly helped.
Sebastian walked her through the song one more time, smiling all the way through.
Devon strummed the last chord with a wide smile before looking over at Sebastian.
“That was really fun. Thanks for teaching me,” she said, moving to hand the guitar back to him.
"No problem, it was my pleasure." He grinned, beginning to put the instrument away. "Glad you had fun."
“Yeah, and it was nice to spend some time with you, too,” Devon said softly.
Sebastian flushed. "Yeah. Um. Do you—Do you have to go now? Or can you stay longer?"
Devon smiled and shook her head. “No, I don’t have to go yet. Not if you don’t want me to.”
"I definitely don't," he smiled, reaching for her hand.
(what should they do?)
(Does he have any games?)

(Ah, frick… the forgot that I was going to respond to this. Hold on…)
“So… Do you have any movies?” Devon asked after a moment of them silently looking at each other. “We could watch one if you want…”
(lol it's np
Sebastian nodded, rolling his shoulders, the muscles of which had tensed. "Yeah, lot's and lot's of DVDs. Come, let's go sit on the couch."
Devon smiled and followed him over. She sat down near the middle, the pulled her legs up underneath herself.
“What movies do you have?” she wondered.
