(Oh my gosh, I love that show. Which season?)
Devon silently dried and put dishes away for a while. After a bit, she glanced over at Sebastian as she dried off a plate.
“So… Did you have fun? Was the party good?” she wondered softly.
(3, I think, the one with Savitar
Which one are you on?)
“The party,” he started, wiping his hands on a towel, “Was amazing. Thank you.”
(I finished everything on Netflix. Lol.)
“Oh, good. I’m glad you think so,” Devon said, turning to smile at him gently. “I think poor Layla was so tired from everyone playing with her. She just passed out.”
(Oh lol
I just finished the episode where they accidentally wipe all of barry’s memories)
“Aw…” Sebastian chuckled, slipping his hands into the thre front pockets of his jeans. “She’s adorable.”
(Hahaha! That’s a great episode.
“Bartholomew… Are you sure I don’t go but Bart?”)
Devon put the plate away and hung the towel up. “Yeah, she is,” she agreed with a chuckle. “I’m sure she had fun, though.”
(lmaoo)
"Yeah. What about you?" Sebastian leaned back against the counter. "Did you enjoy it?"
“Hm… Yes, actually. I had fun. My parents were actually civil tonight. And Layla wasn’t crabby…” Devon mused. And you were here…
Letting out a light snort, he ran a hand through his hair. "I'm very glad. By the way, when should I leave?"
“Oh. Um… I mean, if you want to go now, you can. Otherwise, you can just leave whenever. We could playa game if you’d like,” Devon suggested with a shrug.
Sebastian hesitated briefly– of course he wanted to stay longer with her, but would that be overstepping? She had invited him to stay longer, but was it out of politeness, or something she genuinely wanted? "Are you sure? I don't want to overstay my welcome."
(I’m at a party, so sorry I’m slow.)
Devon chewed on her lip and shrugged. “I really don’t mind. It’s nice having company.”
(don't worry about it)
"If you're sure.." He trailed off, strangely nervous now that they were alone again. "Monopoly again?"
“Monopoly sounds good. Do you want to sit, and I’ll grab it,” Devon offered, already making her way to the hall closet.
(skip to after the game? or even another day?)
(Another day sounds good. Maybe a birthday? Layla’s maybe?)
(sure sounds good, would you mind starting? also is it okay for Bahstin to initiate a teensy bit of romance at this point? and how far forward are we skipping?)
(It’ll be January 23rd, so almost a month.
Yes, that would be fine! They’ll have known each other for… what, 3-5 months, I think?)
Devon quickly grabbed her things from the break room and waved goodbye to her coworkers. Since it was Layla’s birthday, she had gotten off early, so now she was going to go pick her daughter up from daycare. In the hurry she was in, she didn’t notice that she was about to run into someone until she already had.
She nearly dropped her things when she ran into the tall person. Looking up at him, she shook her head with a chuckle. “We have got to stop meeting like this.”
(yeah prolly, maybe even more
on a side note, the amount of drama and bullshit in general chat recently is painful)
Sebastian blinked down at the woman who had bumped into him before his face cleared, breaking out into a huge smile. "Devon! Hey, I was just coming in to grab a coffee before the party. And yeah, it's sort of become our thing by now. This is what, the fourth time?"
(Yeah… Emi was mad at me or something for a moment. We’re cool now, though.
Also, I’m at the Mall of America right now, so I’m going to be slow at responses again.)
“I think so, yeah,” Devon agreed, shaking her head in amusement. “I’m glad you’re still coming! A few people had to cancel because of sicknesses.”
(oh sorry about that
Did you see the fake suicide thing?)
(np)
"Aw, that sucks. But yeah, wouldn't miss it for the world,@ he replied with a warm smile, heart fluttering.
(Oh, that was fake? Interesting.)
Devon grinned back. “Well, I’m sure Layla will be very happy to have you there. And so will I…” she added softly, cheeks burning.
(Yeah. The second mention of a fake suicide in twenty four hours. Drinking fantastic.)
Devon was blushing. While talking to him. Sebastian thought his heart was going to burst out of his chest. “O-Oh. I’m— I’m glad.”
“Mmhm… So… See you at five?” Devon asked, giving him a small, slightly flustered smile.
"See you at five," he agreed, giving her an equally flustered one.
Devon nodded slowly, still smiling. Should she leave now? Probably… “All right, then. Bye, Sebs,” she said, taking a step back to walk away.
