“Yeah… It was her first doll. She’s grown pretty attached to it,” Devon mused softly as she looked at the toy. “My parents gave it to her for Christmas last year. I was pretty surprised, honestly…”
“Yeah… It was her first doll. She’s grown pretty attached to it,” Devon mused softly as she looked at the toy. “My parents gave it to her for Christmas last year. I was pretty surprised, honestly…”
(G’morning)
Sebastian frowned slightly. “Surprised? Why?”
(Morning! How’re you?)
Devon chewed on her lip and looked down at her phone. “I… haven’t exactly been on the best terms with my parents. Something happened, and they wanted me to do one thing, while I wanted to do another. They didn’t like that, so I left.”
(I’m great! You?)
Sebastian fell silent for a moment. “Oh. I’m sorry— I shouldn’t have asked.”
(I’m actually good, despite having started school again. Lol.)
Devon shook her head with a shrug. “It’s fine… Don’t worry about it.”
(Lol)
He bit his lip, shaking his head. “I was intrusive, though… sorry.”
(Except for the fact that I slept through both of my alarms, and my stepdad thinks that means that I need a new alarm system… sigh
But, yeah, otherwise I’m good.)
“No, you didn’t know. Really, Sebastian, it’s fine,” Devon assured him, looking up at him with a small smile.
(Rip
Oof)
He gave a loose shrug, rubbing at the dark circles underlining his eyes. “If you say so.”
Devon hummed a bit and glanced down at her phone. “Do you want to play a game or something while we wait for Layla to wait up?”
Sebastian tilted his head. “Game? What do you mean?”
“Like… Clue, or Monopoly, or Uno or something,” Devon said with a shrug. “I’ve got a few in the hall closet.”
Sebastian had only heard of one of those, but he nodded nonetheless. “Sure, sounds good.”
“All right, then. Do you want to come look and help me pick?” Devon asked as she stood, giving him a small smile.
She has a beautiful smile.. he thought dazedly before shaking himself out of it and rising to his feet. “Sure.”
“It’s just over here,” Devon said, nodding her head in the direction of the hallway. She led him over and opened the closet door. It was filled with all kinds of games, board games, card games, you name it.
He whistled slowly. “Wow, you have a lot…”
Devon grimaced a bit. “Yeah… These are all the games I got for Christmas and bought when I was younger. I really liked games…”
“I can tell,” Sebastian chuckled, running a hand through his hair.
“So, anyway… Take your pick, and we’ll play it,” Devon said, shooting him a quick smile before she turned to scan the titles of the games again.
(boop)
(Frick Sorry)
“Uhh..” He scratched his head, scanning the games. “I… don’t actually know most of these.”
(Lol. It’s fine, don’t worry about it.)
Devon chuckled a bit. “All right… Maybe we could play Monopoly? Does that sound good?”
Sebastian grinned sheepishly. “You picked the one game I actually know. Sounds good, yeah.”
“Well, good,” Devon laughed lightly as she carefully pulled it off the shelf and closed the closet door. “This way I won’t have to take up most of our time explaining the rules.”
He laughed, following her back into the living room. “Can I have the Scottie dog?”
