"Well, you know I keep her busy. She loves me and I'm proud of that. I wonder what kind of person she'll be in high school. Maybe she'll be like me!" he smiled and laughed. "I have a question to ask you. It's something that Lily told me…"
“She’s never getting drunk. Ever. You’re not a very good influence on me, hopefully you’ll be better with kids.” He pressed his face against Kyle’s stomach, sighing softly. “What is it? Does she actually hate me?”
"No, no nothing like that it's just……why didn't you tell me you were trans?" Kyle went silent after that. He wanted to let Payton explain instead of jumping to conclusions like he always does.
Payton tensed and automatically moved a bit away from Kyle, his eyes wide open now. “I didn’t think you would ever find out..I haven’t told anyone since 8th grade.” He replied quietly. “I was scared that you were going to find out last night and I thought I could just avoid telling you or letting you find out by trying to get rid of my feelings for you..” He trailed off, sitting up and setting his head in his hands. “I’m sorry..”
Kyle removed his hands and pressed his lips against Payton's. "Payton, I want you to look me in the eyes when I say this okay?"
Payton turned to him, struggling to keep eye contact. “Are you breaking up with me?” He asked quietly.
"I am gay. I am apart of and support the LGBTQ+ community. The T in those letters means Transgender. I support you. I support you more than I support anyone in this world. So, you don't have to lie about who you are or who you were. You are a guy now correct? That's all that matters. Who you are now if the most important version of you. Don't hide it from me." Kyle kissed Payton's forehead. "No, I'm not breaking up with you."
Payton smiled in relief, leaning against Kyle. “Thank you. I love you too. You’re the best boyfriend I could’ve asked for.” He added shyly, hugging him around the middle.
"I'm the most logical boyfriend you could ever ask for," Kyle laughed. "Alright, after that I really want to make out with you, but I'll hold back for you."
Payton laughed. “Now you’re just overdoing it. I’ve never heard anyone call you logical.” He stood up and pulled Kyle up the stairs to his room. “Wait here, I’ll check on Lily.”
He found her asleep on the floor and tucked her into bed, cleaning her toys up a bit too so she wouldn’t trip over anything.
Kyle looked around Payton's room even though he's been here many times before. He ran his finger over the picture of the both of them. Kyle smiled sightly then sigh and flopped on his bed.
Payton walked back to his room and shut the door, laying on top of Kyle with a grin. He leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his jaw. “Did you miss me?”
“I always miss you,” he hummed. Kyle wrapped his hands around Payton’s waist. “What was your name before you were a guy, or was it always Payton.
"Paisley. I figured it would be easier for everyone if I changed it to something close, so I chose Payton." He replied quietly, resting his head on Kyle's chest.
"Okay," he chuckled. "This is my last question, what made you want to be male?"
“I don't know really..I never really felt female. Especially when I was little. Everyone would refer to me as a girl and I was just confused cause I felt like a boy." He told Kyle, sighing softly against his neck.
"Well, I'm glad I met you either way. I mean my first crush was Harry Styles. That was when I was 5. So, you're not the only one who had weird thoughts as a child," he laughed. Kyle ran his finger's through Payton's hair.
“Who wouldn’t have a crush on Harry Styles.” He laughed softly, letting his eyes shut. “I’m lucky though. I transitioned when I was young and most of my family is accepting, not many people get that.”
"That's good. Now, back to loving my beautiful boyfriend. I never imagined you becoming mine because I kind fucked the whole school so…I never thought you would say yes. No cheating!" Kyle warned.
"I had to hear about all the boys you did it with and endless one sided conversations about if they were good or not. It was horrible. And I would never cheat on you. It took me this long to even get a boyfriend, you have nothing to worry about." He replied softly, stroking his arm absentmindedly.
"If it makes you feel any better I was thinking of you. Then I would pleasure myself thinking about you. So there." Kyle looked at his arm feeling his hands lightly. He pulled Payton closer than he already was.
Payton blushed and hid his face in Kyle's neck. "Why didn't you tell me sooner? That you liked me?" He asked, brushing his fingers over Kyle's jaw and pressing a light kiss to his neck.
"Would you walk up to a random guy and say hey I like you, let's be boyfriends. Even after we were friends I didn't want to just put that on you. I felt like it would be too much you know?" Kyle scratched his head. "I didn't want to take it fast, I wanted to get to know you and be around you."
“Even if you had done that I probably still would’ve said yes. I was pretty desperate.” He said, shrugging a little. “That’s sweet though. Have you ever been in a relationship that lasted longer than a week?”
“Nope!” Kyle said happily. “Which means that I will make this last for as long as you want it to.”
