"Can you tell me if it's a good memory that you have to erase at least? I don't want to lose any of those." He said softly.
Destiny nodded, and she put her hand on Callin's forehead. She zoned in on the plagued memory, and was both surprised and figured out why it was the plagued memory. "I think it's one you would rather forget."
"What is it?" He asked, glancing at Nat for comfort as he was visibly worried.
"It involves…" Destiny started, then trailed off. "Look. I know when people want to keep memories and I can tell which ones they want to keep. You've forgotten about this memory, and I know that you wouldn't want it even if you remembered it."
He shook his head before replying softly, "You're wrong, my mind is different, I don't forget anything. if you ask me what I did three weeks ago, at 3:05 am I could tell you exactly what I was doing."
"Then either you don't want to remember this or someone's made you forget about it. Trust me when I say that you don't remember this memory."
He frowned and went through his memories, trying to find the time she was talking about, "Does it have my brother in it? Or my father?"
"Neither of them, but you won't find it. Just…make your decision now or it could be too late."
"..Ok, you can get rid of it." He said, his eyes flicking to the floor in nervousness.
"Wait here." Destiny commanded, before she went into another room to collect necessary supplies. Nat reached over and took his hand, stroking it softly with her thumb in reassurance.
He sighed and glanced at Nat, "How long do you think it's going to take her to get rid of the memory?"
"I don't know," She sighed, equally as trouble. "I really don't. But hopefully it won't take too long."
"Do you think she's going to erase more than just that memory?" He asked in an almost whisper, worried that she would, "I wouldn't know if she did either…the memories would just be gone."
"I know Destiny, and she wouldn't do that. It would ruin her reputation. Besides, she knows how I would react if I found out she did take a memory."
Her response only calmed him down slightly and he started fiddling with the hem of his shirt, "How would you react?"
"Let's just be real. I can manipulate reality with the flick of my hand. If I wanted someone dead, I could. If I wanted to give a desperate mother a child, I could."
He nodded silently and looked around for Destiny, the long wait just making him more anxious and nervous.
Destiny came back in, a few items in her hands. She placed them on the table, and then drew a circle of salt on the carpet. "Stand in the middle," She commanded to Callin.
Shakily, he stood up and did as she said, his gaze flicking to Nat every so often as if he was a puppy.
"Choose a position and stay in it," Destiny commanded again. "You will have to remain as still as possible during this."
He turned so he could easily see Nat and then stood still, his arms straight at his sides, “Ok, I’m ready.”
Destiny closed her eyes and pointed them down, and the salt started to glow. It had started.
Callin closed his eyes and did his best to stay still, his fingers trembling slightly as he let Destiny work.
Nat was about to say something, but Destiny sensed it and "Shht!" her. She went quiet, watching.
