She nodded "of course. It's what ever parent would want for their child." She said, starting to walk fowards
She nodded "of course. It's what ever parent would want for their child." She said, starting to walk fowards
Aphrodite walked along side her with her hands hung loosely at her sides, “I want to warn you that Shiloh can be a bit…impulsive at times. And he dives head first into situations on a whim, and it usually doesn’t end well.”
"that's not surprising…" She muttered "sorry…it's just that it seems to happen. To a lot of Gods, they dive in head first and don't see the consequence after." She glanced over at her
Aphrodite nodded solemnly again, “Yes..even I’ve been guilty of that on occasion, but with every mistake I learn. I fear that Shiloh doesn’t learn, and I don’t want you to be caught in the consequences of his mistakes. I wish that on no one.”
Of course he never learned….you were just another girl in line, once he's done with you, he'll love on. The realization stung more than she liked to admit "I'll be sure to be careful." She muttered,
“Yes, please be careful, love.” She breathed a long sigh out of her nose, “You’re a beautiful, soul. And you were wonderful to talk to, but I must be going, I have matters to attend to.”
Kendalla nodded and bowed again to the goddess "thank you," she said "wait, he's planning on meeting him tomorrow, what do I do? I don't want to hurt him."
(me not him)
“That’s alright,” she stepped away, giving her a friendly smile, “Just try to keep your distance, and don’t reveal too much about yourself.”
She covered her arms again and nodded "I'll try." She said, having a bad feeling about all of this
(Skip to when she and Shiloh meet again?)
(ya)
Shiloh sat on a branch of the same tree he had yesterday. But this time he actively waited for his date to arrive with a leather bag of flower petals in his hands. He kept looking down, resisting the urge to whistle.
Kendalla had been thinking over Aphrodites word all night and day since their meeting. " I'll just tell him what she told me. Nothing harmful. Plus, he can't be that hurt, we just met." She nodded and headed to the cliff where they had met before
Shiloh’s excited grin doubled its size when he saw her approaching up the hill. He stuffed his hand in the bag and pulled out a handful of flower petals and waited silently. He didn’t want her to see him, though, not yet.
Kendalla stopped at the grassy spot under the tree and sat down, guessing that she was early. She fiddled with a piece of her dress and sighed
Shiloh sprinkled the flower petals down over her. He intermittently stuffed his hand back in the bag and let them fall gracefully until the bag was empty, “Good morning~”
She glanced up and smiled despite her stressful led morning "good morning~ what's all this?" She asked "you destroyed my mother's beautiful flowers to make confetti?" She teased
“No!” He laughed, “they were already picked.” He hopped down off the branch to the ground beside her, “Can your mother forgive me?” He gave the charming flirt smile he gave yesterday.
"possibly." She glanced away, this was going to hurt more than she thought "so, uhm… Your mom came by yesterday after you left." She said slowly
Mai’s smile slowly transition into a heavy frown, “Oh…? What…what did she say?”
"nothing bad! Just that….just that I should've careful around you. Take things slow, ya know?" She said, statring at he ground and not him. "She said you can be impulsive and that you have very little control over your actions."
“Ah..” he took a small step back, glancing off to an obscure patch of grass, “There’s some truth to that. We should take things slow. But she warned you about me?”
Kendalla bit her lip and nodded "she did. That doesn't mean we still can't be friends, it's just that we have to be careful." She shook her head, petals falling from her hair
Shiloh shut his eyes for a moment and sank down to sit in the grass, “Okay..” He croaked, throat tight, “This is why I didn’t tell her about you…”
why did this hurt so much? "Wait… She told me she heard about me from you." She said, starting to get confused
Shiloh opened his eyes and looked up at her, “Well, I didn’t tell her..I was afraid she would do this exact thing that she did. But I guess it didn’t matter anyway.” He scoffed.
"you were scared because she's right? Or because if something else?" Kendalla asked
He rested his chin on his hands, “Something else. I know she’s right about taking it slow, but that’s not…that’s not the issue.”
She brought her knees close to her chest and rested her head on top, looking at him "then what is?"
