(yeah, poor guy)

They nodded, eyes flicking as they took in the information. "Right. Is there a specific time this happens? Is there a certain demographic that is being targeted, or is it just everyone?" They queried, knowing this was valuable information to have for investigating all of this.

"Seems to be anywhere, anytime, everyone. But mostly when nobody else is around." he shrugged. "Anything else you need?" he asked, tapping his thick fingers on the steering wheel, seemingly anxious.

@ElderGod-Icefire

They nodded, considering this new information as well. "Mm. I believe that's all the questions I have for now. Thank you, and I shall do my best to speak with your daughter." They stood, getting out of the cab and waiting as Watson followed. "Again, my thanks." They headed down the sidewalk, carrying their bag, which held their clothes and some other things that they had brought along.

(just waiting for Reed lol. Reed, btw, feel free to take your time in getting a post up!)

Watson startled awake as Sherlock left the cab, having been dozing off against the window. "Jesus, Sherlock! Wait a damn minute for me, I will play the disabled card!" He called after them, accent easily giving away his earlier life in the north. "God above, Sherlock!!! Wait up!!" John managed to tumble out of the car and catch himself with his simple cane as he started to hobble after Sherlock.

A woman met them on the edge of the dock, seeming to have been expecting company but not expecting company so… strange. Queer would have been the right term for her era and this, but with a double-meaning. She was so old, with long white hair that went below her waist, brushed through so it was soft and shiny. Her fingers were thin and shaking, and her eyes had clouded over long ago. “Welcome to Godforsaken, also known as Obed’s resting place. We weren’t expecting visitors, but you are very welcome to stay here as long as you like.” she said, as if she had traveled here once and hadn’t left in a long, long time.

(Mystery woman: haha these bitches gay???!!! Good for them! Good for them!)

@ElderGod-Icefire

Sherlock paused to let John catch up, though their attention was quickly captured by this strange woman. "Who, precisely, is Obed?" He questioned. They knew that Obed was a character from the Bible, but weren't sure if that was the Obed being referenced or not. It didn't quite make sense, if it was, since Obed had lived and died in Israel or Judah. He could never remember quite which one.

“Nobody that’s still alive. Fishy sort of man, there are hundreds of tales about him but none of them are true. I’m the only one who truly knew him. He said once that Godforsaken could make immortals age…” the woman said. “My name is Tiffany. Come this way, you’re probably starving.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

(shit sorry!)

Sherlock frowned. That didn't really answer their question, but pressing for more right now probably want in their best interests. "If you're sure about that." They said, carrying their bag and following after the odd woman, observing everything and everyone that they passed.

(Sorry for what? Also just waiting for Reed to respond, don’t wanna leave them behind lol.)

@Nicolo_Needs_A_Nap

John stayed quiet, not wanting to interrupt Sherlock when they were being… Sherlock. He just rolled his eyes at their obvious displeasure at not getting all the answers right away and followed the woman, his long strides quickly catching up with the two of them, even with his cane.

The people watched everyone else but Tiffany with a strange suspicion, but at Tiffany, they barely seemed to notice her. It was like she was a mere fixture of this place, the only one you could really trust in this landscape of fear. "I run a small motel here. You should find yourselves, if not comfortable, with at least a roof over your heads."
