M cupped his face in his hands. “I live near the lake out of town. I will be able to make it there myself okay, but if you’d like to accompany me you are more than welcome to.”
M cupped his face in his hands. “I live near the lake out of town. I will be able to make it there myself okay, but if you’d like to accompany me you are more than welcome to.”
"I'd like to stay with you until you get there, just to make sure you're okay." Mika crossed his arms. "I'm sorry, but I have trouble believing that somebody can drink that much alcohol and be perfectly fine, no matter how high their tolerance is."
M hummed softly and half-closed his eyes. “You may worry, but don’t act on it. I am quite alright. I did need that from this past week.”
In that moment, Mika felt kinda bad for the guy. He must've had a shitty week if he felt like he needed to drink this much to unwind. "Well then, just let me keep an eye on you so I can reassure myself."
M chuckled sleepily, sitting up slowly. “I’m probably going to go home now. I was going to grab a bite of food if you wanted to join me once we got there?”
Mika's brow furrowed. Would it be a good idea for him to accept in this state? He wasn't drunk, or even really tipsy, just a bit buzzed. But he was buzzed, gay as fuck, and definitely interested in M, so he could easily slip up and say something he shouldn't. But as long as he was careful, he should be fine… "Yeah, if you want me to."
M smiled a bit, humming happily. “Unfortunately the only thing I have are those yummy little Debbie Cakes at home. And cat food. But oddly enough I do not have a cat.” He shrugged.
"It's been a while since I've had one of those," he admitted, smiling softly. "And cat food with no cat? Why?"
M lapsed into thought. “I’m not sure, I just keep buying it for no reason.”
"Weird," he thought, standing up and leaning against the counter. I've got two cats at home who could definitely use that.
M stood up, his ears twitching lightly at his thought. “Hm. I assume you have a pair of cats?”
Mika hesitated before answering. He knew he hadn't mentioned that before. "…yes, I do, but I never told you that."
“I saw the hair on your clothing,” M lied flawlessly, giving the bartender some money for his drinks.
Mika looked down at his clothes. There was nothing on his barista apron, but there were a few stray cat hairs on his T-shirt. "You must be pretty perceptive."
M smiled a bit, walking to the door. “I am a very good detective. After all, it is my job.”
Mika followed, sticking his hands in his pockets. "I can see that. Still, how did you know it was two cats?"
M rolled his eyes. “I can’t say cats? I prefer plural than singular, because more often then not, it’s plural.”
Mika felt himself smile a bit. He found M somewhat impressive. "Specifically two, though? How'd you figure that one out?"
“Did I say two?” M challenged as he opened the bar door for Mika. “Huh. Lucky guess?”
Mika thanked M for holding the door, pausing to wait for him once outside. "Another lucky guess? You did that with my tattoo as well."
M shut the door and stepped down to meet him, grinning. “I am a very lucky guesser.”
"Apparently." He took a deep breath, looking up at the sky. It was pitch black, and only a few stars could be seen. "Anyway, which way are we going?"
M smiled and pointed north. “That way. I hope you are not afraid of the dark.” He led the other on the path to his home.
"Of course not," Mika lied, covering up his nervousness with a laugh. He was definitely afraid of the dark, but he wasn't going to say anything about that.
M hummed softly, looking back at Mika. “You are not lying to a detective, are you?” He tisked and looked forward again.
