M nodded slightly and started to walk, leading him. He wondered idly why this stranger— or Mika— had asked him out so fast. They hardly knew each other.

"So, you're M?" Mika asked, glancing over at him. "You're that detective guy, right?"

M glanced back at him, his eyes returned to their hooded, almost bored-looking state.
“Yeah. I am.”

"I've heard of you before. You seem pretty cool," he said, flashing him a smile.

M’s thin lips creased slightly into a frown, looking forward again. “Thank you. I do not agree, but I suppose I’m just being modest.” He approached a soft, out-of-the-way bar which was called The Musty and pushed open the door, holding it.
“Here you are.”

Mika walked through the door and thanked M. He scanned the room. It was mostly empty, save for a few people at tables talking. He looked back at M for a moment before approaching the bar.

M tailed Mika and sat carefully on a stool. A sassy, fabulous looking male was tending the bar.
“‘Ey there,” He said with a thick Scottie accent. “What can I get you all?”

Mika sat down as well. "I'll just have a sidecar," he said, smiling politely before looking to M, waiting for him to order a drink.

M was quietly looking at the bar choices as the bartender turned to him. “What do you want, chap?”
“Hm… I think I’ll just have wine.”

"So," Mika said, turning to M. "How has your day been? You seemed a bit stressed when I first ran into you, though that may have been my fault."

The bartender slipped them their drinks and M accepted it with a thank you. He didn’t respond right away, just drained his glass.
“My day has been busy. My entire week has been busy.”

Mika took a sip of his drink. "Yeah, I get that. It's been the same with me. Although I imagine your job is quite a bit more draining than mine is."

M gently ran a finger around the rim of the cup, holding his face in a hand. From thr profile, he looked exhausted.
“It is, I suppose. What do you do?”

(Jensen's creativity is still mostly absent, it's just been prompted by music lmao)

"I own a coffee shop. And today, the regular barista decided not to show up, so I had to cover for her," he said, gesturing to his green apron. It was littered in coffee stains, and it wasn't very flattering.

M moved his finger away when the bartender bobbed over to refill his glass. M thanked him softly, before taking a sip.
“Sounds busy. I can only imagine.”

He shrugged. "It's really just the morning rush that's the most stressful, then the rest of the day is fine." He took a moment to drain his glass before continuing. "But we were so low on supplies this morning, I couldn't make over half the things people ordered. A few people got pretty upset over that."
