Rowan flipped off the guys and glared at them. "Piss off before you become akin to roadkill." He replied quietly. These particular guys also often bullied Rowan for his separation anxiety, as it was a pretty well known fact by now. He did his best to ignore them whenever it happened, but it was hard to resist the urge to punch them.
Atlas softly pecked Rowan on the cheek before quickly heading out of the school to the car he was driving. His mom doesn't take her car much since she flies everywhere, so instead he uses it. Before be opened the car door for Rowan, he wrapped him in a big hug, not letting go for a few minutes.
"You okay, Atlas?" Rowan asked softly, returning the hug and pressing a soft kiss to the top of Atlas's head. "They didn't bother you too much, did they? I'll beat them up if you want me to, I promise." He looked down at Atlas worriedly.
"Nah, I'm fine. I'm just so glad to have you as my boyfriend. I know I say it, like, every day but I just, I'm just so happy with you." Atlas looked up at Rowan with a soft smile. He felt like he had been happier in the past month more than he had in all of high school so far.
Rowan smiled softly and kissed him again. "I'm glad you're as happy as I am, Atlas." He got into the passenger's side and buckled himself in. "I wish I was old enough to get my license…." He sighed quietly.
(Woah. I was 100% sure you had to be 16 to get a license. But I just looked it up and I was definitely off. I think my brain just short-circuited lol)
Quickly, Atlas went around to the driver's side and got in the car. "Yeah, it's really nice. But hey, at least I'm willing to drive you basically anywhere you need. Not too much longer though, right?" He buckled himself in and pulled out of the parking spot, then out onto the road.
(I mean, at least where I live, you have to be 16 to just get a permit lol. In Texas it's 15 I think)
"Mhmm. Like, half a year until I get my unrestricted, I think? If I keep practicing and getting hours, that is. You can help me with that." Rowan yawned and looked over at Atlas when he got into the car. "To your place, right?"
(Where I live you have to be 15 to get a permit, I know that much lol)
"Yup, first I gotta pick up Jeremiah though. Since the elementary school is dumb and they have a fucked up bus system. Sorry about that, but it shouldn't take that long." Many of the schools were within the same three blocks, so it only took a minute or two to get to the elementary school. The elementary school got out fifteen minutes after the high school did, but there were only a few minutes left since they had taken their time at the school.
(Yeah, I think my state is later than other ones)
"No problem. Jeremiah isn't as annoying as most children, at least in my opinion." Rowan snickered a bit. "But it could be because he likes me." He watched out the window as they approached the elementary school. "When will he come out?" He asked.
"Yeah, he definitely does like you. At this point, you and me are his parents since mine are so busy all the time. It's a good thing he's not a toddler or something of that age, that would be actual hell." Atlas stopped behind another car in the pick-up spot, waiting for the all too familiar bell. A few seconds later it rang and a stream of kids came out through all the doors. "He takes longer than I do, so we'll be here for at least a few minutes more. Apparently, he's talking to his 'girlfriend'." He said with air quotes and a giggle.
"Oooooh, he's got a girlfriend?" Rowan asked, looking over at Atlas with a grin. "Tell me more, darling~" He leaned on his armrest and kept his eyes fixed on Atlas's face. "Is she cute? Same age, older, younger?"
Atlas smiled, looking at Rowan as he talked. "Well, I've only seen her once because Miah doesn't ever seem to be with her once they leave the building. He only tells me about her usually. But from what I did see, yeah she's pretty cute. And I'm pretty sure he said she's a little older but in the same grade."
"Oooh, nice. Wish I could meet her so I could tease him without seeming like a creepy stalker looking into his personal affairs." Rowan sat back down, humming softly to himself as he watched out the window for Jeremiah.
"I wish I could meet her as well. The one time I saw her was the once and in a lifetime opportunity, the one and only time when they walked out of the school together. I bet if you teased him about it he wouldn't question it though. If you know something, he doesn't question it anymore." Atlas giggled. He then spotted Jeremiah.
"Ah. I'll give him a bit of space, I know I'd hate it if I was in his place." Rowan snickered and waved to Jeremiah to get his attention. "How was school, kiddo?" He asked when Jeremiah got into the car.
Jeremiah's face lit up once he saw Rowan. He buckled in then looked back up to the front. "ROWAN!" he yelled. "It was pretty good. We are doing a partner project for science and I got to be with Kaitlynn! We're making space pods for an egg. Mrs. Wilson is gonna drop them off the roof and if the egg doesn't crack we win!"
"Hey, Jeremiah! That sounds like fun! We don't get to do anything that fun in high school." Rowan pouted playfully and turned around so he could talk to Jeremiah. "I'm glad you got to hang out with her, though. She cute?" He asked, smirking a bit.
While the two were talking, Atlas pulled through the pick-up area and headed on the way to his house. Jeremiah smiled. "Well, she's not as cute as the pictures of your dog. Milo's really cute. But she's second. Like you know, Milo's first then Kaitlynn's second?" He explained it like it was a factual thing. Atlas couldn't help but laugh as he listened to his brother.
"Ah, I see. Well, I gotta walk Milo later, so how would you like to join me?" Rowan asked, still grinning. "I'm not sure if you've gotten to see him in person before, and everybody needs to see my boy Milo."
"Really? You'll let me come with you? I'd love to meet Milo!!" Jeremiah bounced his shoulders in excitement.
"You're adorable, Miah. You can come as long as you get any homework done beforehand." Atlas said, looking back at him with a smile as he waited for the light to turn green.
"Yeah, of course you can come with me! I'm sure Milo would love to meet you. He's super sweet." Rowan smiled softly, still looking back at Jeremiah. "He can even help calm me down if I'm having an anxiety attack sometimes. He's basically an unofficial emotional support dog. I might as well get him registered so I can bring him places."
"Awe, he sounds like an awesome dog! I want a dog like that." Jeremiah smiled, even more, imagining having a dog like Milo. "I'm so excited to meet him!" Atlas then pulled into his driveway, a large smile on his lips.
"Okay, we're home! Miah, we'll let you know when we go to walk Milo, k?" He unbuckled himself and looked back at his little brother.
"I'll bet he's excited to see you too." Rowan stepped out of the car, grinning and stretching a bit. "I'll go get Milo at some point… we all three could go together, though. You know, for the sake of my sanity." He went into the house.
"Obviously I'll go with you, love, there's no doubt in that." Atlas ran around the car to catch up to Rowan, Jeremiah not too far behind them. "About when d'ya think we'll go get Milo?" Atlas asked, fumbling for the house keys before unlocking the door and pushing it open.
"Um… You said when Miah finished his homework, so… then, I guess?" Rowan shrugged and closed the door behind them once everyone was inside. "Elementary schoolers don't get much homework, though, so it shouldn't be too long."
