"I know I know, it's cooking, I just figured you'd want what's left over."
"I know I know, it's cooking, I just figured you'd want what's left over."
Grey snorts, then lays down and waits until dinner is ready. Over the next few days, he falls into a routine: waking up at sunset instead of sunrise, helping Asra hunt, and stuff like that. Nearly a month later, a stranger comes to the cabin, and Grey sniffs and snarls.
asra pats his neck to calm him and opened the door " hello?" he said politely
Just outside the door was a strange man, cloaked in furs. Grey gets up and stands at the door, shoving Asra out of the way. He shifts with much cracking and tearing of bone and muscle. After a few seconds, Grey stands there, cloaked in his own furs. "Why are you here, Praetor?"
The man, the Praetor, chuckles. "We caught wind of a werewolf living with a vamp and decided to investigate. Not so difficult to track a lone were like you, from a dead pack."
Grey grimaces. "Leave us. This vampire is my friend."
The Praetor shrugs. "Very well."
He leaves, and Grey slams the door, not turning, not wanting to see the look on Asra's face.
asra was surprised. " what the hell did I just witness.." he asked, his voice cracked a bit as his hand reached out to greys shoulder.
Grey speaks haltingly, tensing as Asra touches him. "I- my pack, that is, fell prey to a sickness the day you found me. The last one had died only hours before. That cave was my pack's home. That man, he was a Praetor of Praetor Lupus."
"i.. im so sorry.."
Grey shakes his head sadly. "It's in the past."
He turns now, and his eyes hadn't changed. They were still wolf eyes, silver and luminous as the moon. He wore nothing but his furs and a pair of leather leggings, loosely fitted.
asra flushed a bit and cleared his throat. " I.. ahm- I need to get you some real clothes.."
Grey looks down, and cracks a smile. He flings off his furs, leaving his torso bare.
"Is it distracting?" he asks, making his pecs dance.
" oh my god! go lay down!" asra teased as his face flushed darker
Grey laughs and shifts back to wolf, the furs disappearing as well. He looks at Asra with amusement, then lays down where he was before.
asra laughed a bit and shook his head, " you didn't have to.." he said softly and put his forehead on greys.
Grey growls softly, but it's a friendly growl.
I like being a wolf. his eyes say.
" i know, " asra says back and reaches onto the counter for greys usual treats " you know, you not bad looking for a wolf," he said
Grey sneezes.
Sorry, I'm allergic to bullshit. his face says, tinged with dark humour.
asra chuckled " I'm not lying, " asra said, " you can test my truth I'm really not and id go out in the sun to prove it."
Grey gets up, and narrows his eyes at Asra, shifting once more.
"I know you're telling the truth." he murmurs.
asra holds back a soft gasp at how close they are, his eyes locking with the wolfs
Grey chuckles, hearing Asra's heart speed up. A vampire with a heart that yet beats. Unusual.
He sighs, then shifts back to wolf again, laying his head down on his paws.
asra let out a sigh of relief," I was born a vampire. not made." he mumbled as if to answer his question " to a human mother and a vampire father "
Grey chuckles and looks up.
How'd you know what I was thinking? his face asks.
" vampire. we forge bonds and it becomes natural. the day you gave me kindness and basically snuggled me in your den. that was the tie between the bond"
Grey huffs.
I thought werewolves were the only ones to forge such bonds. I suppose I need to revise my opinion. he grins.
asra grins back ' you are not the only breed with alpha and omega either." he said
