(🤣🤣 That is him, actually!)
Jace smiled brightly as he followed her to the table. “It smells so good, I swear.”
William took out his phone, furrowing his eyebrows until he got to the message he needed. Finally she said yes. He smiled faintly, shaking his head again, brushing it off. He already knew where he stood in her circle—just a friend, or maybe less than that, even. But even so, he enjoyed spending time with her.
He needed to take a shower first, so he grabbed his clothes and towel and exited the room.
(😂 I thought so~)
“Well, I hope you like it,” Amber laughed as she sat down. “Dig in.”
(You captured his personality so well. xD)
Jace took a bite out of the french toast, smiling brightly as he chewed.
"Oh my God, these are good!" he exclaimed. "Okay, you are officially beyond perfect."
(😂😂😂)
Amber snorted with a roll of her eyes, pretending the pink on her cheeks was leftover from the heat of the stove rather than his comment. “I’m hardly perfect. But thank you,” she said, smiling over at him before taking a second bite of her food.
Jace tried to slow down, but his girlfriend's cooking was just perfect. He chewed fast–but not too fast so he wouldn't cause her disgust.
"Of course you are," he said after swallowing, hearing the sounds in the shower but paying them no attention. "You just don't know it yet."
“You’re going to get the hiccups if you keep eating so fast,” Amber teased, poking his leg with her toes under the table.
Jace snorted, swallowing his second piece of french toast.
"I am not," he grumbled, poking her leg back. "I can just drink water."
Amber grinned and poked him again. “And if you do…?”
"Then I'll bother William and have him yell at me," Jace shrugged. "Fear scares away hiccups."
Amber chuckled, slowly shaking her head. “Fair enough. What time do you have class today?”
Jace hummed to himself.
"Uh, I have one at nine," he replied. "What about you?"
Just then, William came out of the shower. This time, he didn't even bother looking at the two as he disappeared into his room with his dirty clothes. When he came out, he had a hoodie on as if he was going out again, earphones in his ears. Jace furrowed his eyebrows at him before shrugging.
"Well, I suppose there goes my fear," he murmured to himself. "Now I don't have a backup plan."
“I have one at eight forty-five,” Amber answered between bites. She glanced over to see William disappearing into his room again and then saw him step back out. Turning her attention back to Jace, she grinned mischievously. “I’m sure I could find a way to scare you.”
Jace quirked an eyebrow at her. “Hm? Like what?”
William barely paid the couple any attention as he walked out the door, running a hand through his damp hair in the process. If God was on his side, both of them wouldn’t be here when he came back. He needed a piece of mind.
Amber shrugged, taking another bite of food. “I can’t tell you. And I can’t show you, either. It wouldn’t work because you’re expecting it.”
Jace scrunched his nose before he nodded.
“That’s true…” having finished his last piece, he stood up to put his dishes away.
“And it looks like you don’t even have he hiccups, so I don’t think I’ll need to do it,” Amber chuckled as she finished up as well.
“I’ll wash ‘em,” Jace offered, reaching out for her dishes. “What do you wanna do in the meantime? How much time do we have before your class?”
Amber hummed and glanced up at the clock on the kitchen wall. “‘Bout an hour. I’ll help you wash them. That way they get done faster,” she offered as she got to her feet.
“All right,” Jace agreed. “I can’t promise I won’t spread the soap on you, though.”
“If you get soap in my hair, I swear I will get you back for that,” Amber declared, shooting him a playful glare.
Jace smirked at her. “Oh, darling, you’re on. It’s war!”
Amber grinned and rolled her sleeves up. “Soapiest person loses?”
Jace set the dishes on the counter, an evil glint in his eyes. “Any punishment for the loser?”
“I picked last time. I think it’s your turn,” Amber said, her grin twisting into a smirk as she started the water running.
Jace rolled up his sleeves, letting out a chuckle. “Well… what about ice cream with pepper? Just a spoonful.”
