William kissed the base of her neck, smirking when the others looked away, some rolling their eyes as they did so.
“Well,” Parker drawled, leaning back, “I got a job. I’m a bloody assistant teacher. God, kids are horrifying.”
“I can’t imagine you as a teacher,” Jude scrunched his nose. “That’s like, the same as Will being all smiley.”
“And we can’t imagine you as a doctor, yet here you are…” Jace muttered under his breath. “Working to become one.”
Amber shivered slightly, reaching back to poke him in retaliation. “Hey, you guys should have seen him earlier. He was all smiles then,” she said, chuckling softly. “And why in the world are you an assistant teacher if you don’t like kids?”
William nuzzled her neck, liking the way she shivered against him. He let out a grunt at her comment, choosing to rub circles on her waist just to tease her.
If his teammates noticed, they did not comment.
“You should have taken a picture,” Drew snickered, shaking his head. “We won’t believe it if we don’t see it.”
“Because it required the least amount of work and studies,” Parker responded lazily. “I might end up becoming a coach after a year or two, maybe.”
“I’ll try to remember to take a picture with him the next time he smiles, then,” Amber laughed, letting out a slow breath at William’s actions. “Lazy much? Maybe try doing something you actually enjoy, hm?”
“You will do no such thing,” William murmured quiet enough for Amber to hear, kissing her neck again. “Stop trying to ruin my reputation, Blue.”
“If Parker did something he liked, he would really just lie on his bed the whole day. Or annoying his girlfriend,” Casper ran a hand through his hair. “It’s a mystery how he decided to play basketball with us.”
Parker laughed, throwing his head back. “I joined because I was bribed with a video game. Then I stayed because it was too much of a hassle to quit. And maybe these energetic idiots grew on me.”
“Stop doing that, then. Are you trying to get me to get off your lap?” Amber mumbled back to him, swatting at his leg. She turned her attention back to the others and smiled. “Did anyone order yet? Or were you waiting for us?”
William tightened his hold on her, letting out a small growl. They just got here and he wanted to go home so he could kiss her properly. “You’ll do no such thing.”
“We were waiting for you,” Jordan replied, leaning back on his seat. “But feel free to order.”
Jude took that chance to pass out the menu he’d stacked up. “There you go~”
“Awesome. So what are you all doing this weekend? Besides this, anyway,” Amber wondered, shifting in William’s lap again. What a tease the man was…
William sighed when she shifted in his lap again, choosing to continue rubbing circles on her waist. His mouth neared her ear, “Stop moving, Blue.”
“Okay, both of you, stop,” Jude exclaimed. “Seriously? It hasn’t even been five minutes and all you’re doing is flirting with each other.”
“Then turn the other way,” William shrugged, tilting his head so it touched his girlfriend’s, “Or don’t look at all.”
Amber blinked, a smirk taking over her lips before she whispered words she knew would be dangerous, “Make me.”
“Sorry, but can you really blame us? We literally just got each other back after being apart for four years. You’d be like this if you were in our position, too,” she teased, grinning over at them.
William’s eyes darkened a little at her words. She certainly liked making things harder for herself, didn’t she? “Do you really want me to?” He breathed in her ear, hot air blowing against the organ, “In front of all of them?”
“Well, you’re not wrong,” Drew shrugged while Holden looked at them unblinking.
“I seriously hope you guys have been using protection,” he blurted out. “You can never be too careful.”
William wanted to strangle his friend.
Amber laughed before crumpling a napkin into a ball and tossing it at Holden’s head. “We haven’t done anything! Gosh. It’s been, like, three days,” she exclaimed before leaning back and tilting her head to whisper to Will again, “Now I’m curious about what you’re going to do…”
Holden laughed as the napkin ball hit him on the forehead, grinning cheekily at her. “Hey, I was expecting guys to do it the day you met,” he shrugged. “Can you blame us? William’s looking like he wants to drag you out of here so you guys can make out.”
William shot him a smirk, lips pressed against his girlfriend’s neck. “You’re not wrong,” his voice was deep. He knew just how much it affected Blue. “But can you blame me?”
“Jesus, let’s order before I get sick to my stomach,” Parker waved for the waiter. “Never minding the fact that I would totally do that myself.”
William merely looked at him before turning his attention back towards Amber. “Trust me, love, you don’t want me to show you what I’ll do.”
Heat rushed through Amber’s body at his words and his stupid voice. Gosh dang it, how could he be doing this to her? Why was she letting him? Wicked man… Teasing her like this…
“Doesn’t make me any less curious,” Amber murmured, shifting again before picking up the menu and flipping through it. “What are you getting?”
William chuckled, his chest vibrating with the sound. She felt hot against him. Good. “Whatever you want to get,” he nipped at her ear. “And for dessert, I’d like the woman on my lap. Nothing else seems appetizing enough.”
“We’re in public, Will. And with friends. Can you hold onto your hormones for a couple of hours until we get home?” Amber breathed, finally settling on a simple salad and waiting for the waiter to make his way over.
William blinked, releasing a breath and resting his head on her shoulder. “‘M sorry,” he murmured. “Shouldn’t have let you sit on my lap. Shouldn’t have had that conversation in the car. I didn’t make you uncomfortable, right? I’ll control myself.”
Amber chuckled softly, turning to press a soft kiss to his cheek. “No, no. It was fine, really. I just… Gosh, Will, I just really want you, but we need to wait until we get home,” she whispered, trying to keep her voice low enough that none of the others would hear. Her cheeks were bright red at her words, even though it was true. She totally wanted him.
I just really want you. If William hadn’t been warm before, he definitely was. It took everything out of him to not let out a low growl. And that blush on her cheeks—God, she certainly was undeniable. Did she know just how much her words were affecting him?
“Well, then,” he breathed her in, “I’ll hold on to my hormones until we’re home, then. Order for me?”
Amber felt William’s warmth on her back, and she blinked a few times. This was not the time or place to be having this conversation. But, stars, now she just wanted to get home. Soon.
“Sure. I can do that,” she breathed, leaning back into him again and closing her eyes for a moment. “I’m just getting a salad, though. Did you want something else?”
Thankfully, none of his teammates were paying attention to them. Either on purpose or not, he was grateful. That meant he didn’t need to control the hunger lurking in his eyes for the woman on his lap. God, he wanted her. When would they be able to go home?
William hummed against her. “I really don’t know,” he admitted, peering over her shoulder to read the menu, “I think a chicken sandwich is all right for me.”
“Then you’ll get a chicken sandwich. Anything to drink? Or just water?” Amber asked quietly, still affected by the man she was seated on.
“Just water,” William said, trying not to nuzzle her cheek or to rub circles on her waist. He could not do that. Not right now. “Unless you want something else and are in the mood to share.”
“Maybe a milkshake? They have a chocolate caramel one that sound really good,” Amber suggested, humming as she flipped through the pages.
“That sounds good,” William murmured. “Chocolate caramel. You can order it if that’s what you want.”
