(Me, too!! Ansandasklfjlksaf)

William glanced her way, slightly surprised at how nonchalant she was acting despite being flustered the night before. That was good, though. It meant she wasn't getting her hopes up. He could still live in slight peace, knowing he wouldn't have to worry about sleeping with his door locked.

"Like I said," William sighed, ready to walk out. "You don't have to worry about me."

William didn't respond. He simply began to walk, opening the door before he sighed, keeping it open, waiting for his dorm mate.

William let go of the door and continued to walk, sighing. He didn't have his car, therefore that meant he was going to walk back to the dorm. Just perfect.

Amber stuffed her hands in her pockets, wishing she had grabbed a coat before she left. She shivered slightly when the cold hit her face. She really should have grabbed a jacket or something…

William quirked an eyebrow when he noticed her shiver. He had his basketball jacket, but… he really didn't want to give it to her, not when there was a hidden meaning behind the gesture. Whoever invented that was an absolute idiot, William could tell him that.

William continued on walking, minding his own business.

As much as she loved winter, Amber did not like the cold. She would tolerate it, and it wasn’t even too bad at the moment, but that didn’t mean she had to like it.

Finally, William decided he pitied the girl. Though she should have grabbed a coat, her getting sick would lead him to get sick. So he shrugged off his jacket and walked closer to her, nonchalantly throwing it over her shoulders.

Amber immediately paused in her walking when she felt a weight on her shoulders. She stiffened and glanced down at what he'd thrown over her, peering down at the jacket. With a shake of her head, she pulled it off and caught up to William to hand it back to him.

"I don't need your jacket," she insisted. "I'm perfectly fine. But thanks anyway."

William took it back without any questions. He offered it—if she didn’t want it, she didn’t want it. If she got sick… well, that was her problem.

Finally, their dorm was in view.

Amber sighed as she opened the door to the dorm, and the warm air hit her immediately. That was much better…

She stepped inside without waiting for William and started toward her room. Once there, she grabbed a warm, oversized hoodie that she'd borrowed (coughstolencough) from her last boyfriend and never returned. What could she say, it was warm… And his scent had passed long ago, anyway.

After grabbing the dark blue hoodie, she walked back out to the kitchen to begin working on tacos. Even if William didn't want any, she was going to make extra. Just in case.

William went into the shower the second they got home. It felt relaxing getting rid of the nonexistant dirt from himself. Though he liked sports, it didn't mean he liked getting dirty.

Once he was done, he got rid of his clothes. Due to constantly changing every day, his laundry basket was nearly full. He needed to do laundry soon.

About a half an hour later, Amber was dishing up some tacos for herself. Her nose crinkled beforebshe turned away from the food and sneezed into her arm. As if nothing had happened, she went back to what she was doing.

William had just gotten himself on the bed when he heard a sneeze. He rolled his eyes. Of course. Of course, she would get sick. She could have prevented it by wearing his jacket, but well, it wasn't anything he could do about it. It was her fault.

Pulling his sheets over himself, William closed his eyes, finally being able to rest.

The next morning, Amber awoke with a stuffy nose and a foggy mind. She groaned and pulled her covers back up over herself from where they’d been shoved to the end of the bed in the middle of the night.

She should probably have taken William’s jacket… She wouldn’t be sick, then. Even if it would have made her look like she was his — which she most definitely was not — that would probably have been better than this sickness.

William's day at school was rough. It involved trying to (and failing) control his anger, which never really went nicely. If he got into a fight at school, that meant he would be suspended from club activities. He couldn't afford to get suspended. They had a match, and they would most probably lose if they didn't have their shooting guard.

Which is why currently, he was in the nurse's office, having his bruised hand bandaged.

"You should be glad you didn't punch the wall hard enough!" the nurse scolded him. "You would have broken a bone. And as a basketball player, you should be more careful!"

William sighed, letting her run her mouth.

Amber sneezed again in the middle of the professor’s sentence, and the older man looked up at her. She’d been coughing and sneezing all day, but she just kept interrupting this poor professor’s lecture. The man cocked an eyebrow at her before continuing to speak.

When the lecture was over and the rest of the students were working on their assignment, Professor McLoughlin made his way across the room to Amber. She glanced up when she noticed the shadow that fell over her desk, blinking up at the man.

“Miss Page, correct?” he greeted her. At her nod, he went on. “I think it would be best for you to go see the nurse down the hall.”

Amber sighed and gave the professor a tiny smile. “Thank you, professor. I… probably should do that, I guess,” she admitted as she stood.

A few minutes later, she was stepping into the pristine, white room of the nurse’s office. She greeted the woman, who was standing in front of another patient. The person’s face was covered, but she could tell that it was a man from how he sat.

William didn't look up from his spot on the chair as the nurse tied the bandage. She looked up to greet whoever was there–a female, from her voice.

"Ah, what's wrong, dear?" she asked, her voice laced with worry. William wanted to scoff, but he settled for rolling his eyes. He came in and she looked at him in irritation. A woman came in and instantly her mood was better.

In her defense, William had come here before, too, supporting a similar injury of sorts.

"All right," she patted on his head. "I'd suggest you don't play instruments, or sports for at least today. The injury isn't bad, but we don't want you to agitate it. You should control your temper, William!"

William scoffed, rolling his eyes again,

William? Oh, great…

“I think I might have a cold. And a fever. I was wondering if you would mind checking?” Amber asked the nurse, giving her a small smile. “I’m sneezing and coughing, and I’m a little light headed and dizzy.”

William stood up, rubbing his hand, muttering a thank you to the nurse. She immediately went over to the girl and made her sit on the seat he was sitting in, and William almost groaned.

Amber. Great.

Since the nurse hadn't exactly dismissed him (he learned that if you left without being dismissed, she got extremely angry), he stood off in the side, watching her touch Amber's forehead before furrowing her eyebrows. She handed Amber a thermometer to check her temperate before her eyes widened.

"You came to school with a 103-degree temperature?" she exclaimed, shaking her head. "You kids!"

She stood up and took out a box of medicine, handing it to Amber, explaining to her that she shouldn't skip even one day of medicine. Then the nurse's eyes fell on William, and at that moment, he wished he would have walked away.

"Wait, you both live together, right?"

Do not say what I think you're about to say.

"Well, William, be a good dear for once and take Amber home. I'll write both of you a note, excusing you from school. You should eat light, and rest."

William wanted to punch a wall again.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Amber yawned and shook her head to clear it a little. It didn’t work, though, and only succeeded in making her dizzy again.

“Thank you, but I can get back on my own. He should go to his classes,” she insisted as she stood slowly.

The nurse glared at Amber and grabbed her arm, pulling her back down before she settled her gaze on William who stared back at her. The nurse gave him a glare.

“All right,” he muttered under his breath. “I’ll do it. Stop looking at me like that.”

“Perfect,” the nurse smiled. “Now run along! Stay warm, both of you.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Amber sighed and stood again, making her way to the door. She thanked the nurse, covering another yawn, then glanced back over her shoulder at William.

“Are you coming?” she asked, raising an eyebrow at him. She just wanted to get home so she could sleep, honestly. The sooner that happened, the sooner she would be in a better mood.
