"how many are contracted to you? Must be a lot if I'd be able to recognize one just walking around here." He said, his flush remaining as Toru's light touch brushed along his hand. He nodded slightly as he made his way into the kitchen, his lips bunching to the side as he tried to decide on something to make. "How bout pancakes? I have a bit of the box mix left and some fruit we can mix together."
"Just ten," Toru said with a soft chuckle. He watched Logan as the human thought, nodding some.
"Pancakes will work." The demon stayed by Logan's side, looking around the kitchen to make sure they were safe. He wouldn't be leaving Logan's side any time soon, though, so there should be no repeat of what happened the night before.
"Would you like some help? Keep in mind I won't really be able to leave your side at all."
"uh sure, you can start preparing the berries while I mix the box pancake mix." He said, finding some blueberries, bananas and strawberries in the fridge. "Knives are in the lower drawer." He said, finding a bowl and spatula
"Alright then." Toru hummed some as he reached over to grab a knife from the drawer, pulling the berries and fruit to himself to start cutting. He made sure to keep by Logan's side the entire time, even if it inconvenienced him. There were too many doors, and too many ways for another demon to come in. He looked around on occasion, offering Logan a smile. He was safe as long as Toru was there.
Logan arched an eyebrow and gently rested his hand on Toru's arm, offering a small smile. "Hey, I'm okay." He reassured, despite looking around as well. Any door, any window, hell even one of the pots could house a demon. "Uh, so tell me about yourself, how'd you become a contractor?" He asked, trying to distract them both.
"As long as I'm here," Toru agreed with Logan tried to reassure him. He gently patted Logan's hand, looking down at his work.
"Well, the first thing I had to do was die," he said, chuckling some despite the memories of hellfire the thought brought up.
"O-oh…" Logan glanced away momentarily, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Of course Toru had to die before becoming a demon.
"Do I want to know why you got sent Hell?" He asked softly after a few moments, taking his time to mix the pancake batter.
"No idea myself. I don't remember my old life." Toru looked over, unaffected by his own words. "It's nothing to feel bad about, you know. I'm content with this life I lead now." He hummed softly, gently bumping Logan's shoulder with his arm.
"so you don't want to know about your previous life? Obviously not about the death and stuff but what about the people you knew?" He asked finding it hard to actually wrap his mind around Toru having another life. "It must've been hard for you when you first came back."
"Not really, no. I have this life, after all, and I'm pretty content with it." Toru looked over, seeing how Logan was struggling with the idea a bit.
"I was bad enough to get into hell is all I know. It wasn't hard at all."
Logan nodded slowly, still not completely convinced but also not wanting to bother Toru with more questions about his previous life. "So did you always look like this?" He asked, waving a hand to Toru "surely it must be hard to blend in? I mean unless you're at a convention." He laughed lightly "what I mean to say is, isn't it hard to not draw attention towards yourself if you wanted to keep being a demon to yourself?"
"You do know I spend most of my time in Hell, right?" Toru laughed some, gently nudging Logan with his elbow. He hummed as he finished up what he was doing to help with breakfast, setting it down.
"No one cares there. The only time I really come up here is for contracts."
"ah, well until now, no. I thought you moved freely between Hell and Earth." He laughed lightly at being nudged and took the cut berries, adding them to the mix and folding them together.
"Well, I'd no one cares then why not stay up here? Or are you not allowed?" He asked, turning on the stove and putting a large pan on the burner
"I mean, I can move freely between," Toru admitted. "I just don't want to deal with the hassle of disguising myself. It's much easier to just spend my time in hell with my contracted souls who've finally died." Toru glanced at Logan, then back to their breakfast preparations.
"oh I see." He nodded and took a deep breath, hoping to calm himself. He smiled softly as he poured in the batter, trying his best to make them of equal size so they cooked evenly
Toru watched, staying by Logan's side. One cabinet door tried to slowly open, but Toru closed it secretly with the tip of his boot. He wasn't going to let anything happen, not on his watch.
"They look good," the demon said, smiling some.
"mhm, hopefully they taste as good as they look." He mused, somewhat distractedly. He bunched his lips to the side and turned to Toru, brows knitting together as he tried to find the right words to say. "So…was you did yesterday, with the whole seducing and trying to be," he waved his hand flippantly and shook his head, a light blush rising on his cheeks "you know. Was that all…real? Or is this the real you…or are you just going what you think I want you to be?" He arched an eyebrow, "what are you really like?"
Toru looked over, thinking for a moment.
"I'm really like that," he admitted, "but I'm like this too. It's… complicated. I do what I know you can handle. I saw how you reacted to me yesterday, and I knew if I kept it up you'd end up getting hurt, so I stopped." Toru paused then stepped closer. He wrapped an arm around Logan, pulling him close. His other hand came up to cup the other's cheek, turning his head gently to be looking up at him.
"Though, if you prefer I act as I wish, I have no reason not to anymore. You know the danger you're in for the rest of the day, and I trust you to not make any rash decisions."
Logan stiffened slighly at the touch. He still hadn't gotten used to the sudden physical contact nor the closeness despite having slept with Toru just last night. Logan's gaze met Toru's "you should act as you wish regardless of who is in front of you. Of course I advise against harming others in any way." He gave the demon a pointed look. "No promises, I'd hardly call any decision made now rash, considering I just found out demons are real in the past 24 hours."
"Well then, it seems I'm just going to have to keep you out of trouble." Toru chuckled softly, moving his hand to b cupping Logan's cheek for a moment before pulling away. He'd still take things slow, for now. He'd hold back his possessiveness for now.
"No, let's focus on breakfast, hm? We don't want to burn the pancakes."
Despite literally everything he had learned, Logan still leaned into Toru's hand. How long has it been since he had had physical contact with someone. A few years maybe but that hadn't gone over so we'll. He missed this oh so very much. His eyes fluttered shut for a moment before snapping open. "Right!" He hurried to flip the pancakes, praying that the hadn't burned. A bit over than what he normal liked but it wasn't anything honey and fruits couldn't fix
Toru laughed softly as Logan flipped the pancakes, his hand going to the other's head again. He'd noticed the other leaning into him, of course. How could he not? He'd take advantage of it, get Logan used to Toru's touch. The demon was going to make sure Logan would accept the demon holding him at any moment.
"They look good," he noted, looking down at the pancakes as he stayed close to the man.
Logan's eyes flickered to Toru's before nodding and slowly moving away from him. "Thank you," he muttered softly, keeping his eyes focused on the small dining room table he had in his apartment. It had been a mistake to accept the gesture. He knew that but he had been desperate, hell he still was desperate. Lo took in a deep breath and set the plates down before curling up in his chair and silently digging into the breakfast
Toru followed close to Logan the entire time, pulling his chair over so it was right nxt to Logan's. He started to eat as well, humming softly.
"They taste really good, too," he complimented, looking to Logan. He wasn't letting Logan anywhere further from him than the human was now. Not with the threats that waited in every shadow.
Logan arched an eyebrow at the demon as he moved his chair as close as it would go to Logan without literally being on top of him as he could. He nodded at the compliment, surprise that Toru actually liked the food considering that he didn't need to eat human food to survive. After a few moments taking of akwardly eating in silence, Logan sat back in his chair and gazed over at Toru, taking him in for the first time in the natural.light that streamed in the the apartment window. What he had said the night before still rang through, the demon was stunning, annoyingly so. Logan looked away and finished off his pancakes, popping in a few of the blueberries and cut strawberries that remained on his plate. "So has someomr under your contract ever been taken by another demon? Is that why your this protective?" He asked, looking around the area even as he spoke, looking for any sign of abnormal movement
