Tseth hears the ruckus coming from outside. It was hard not to. He strides ot of the tent, to see Tsadi and Resh at it. Resh looks extremely uncomfortable. "What is the meaning of this?" He's looking right at Tsadi, glaring at him.
He’s mad at me again. I’m gonna get hurt again- Resh snaps out of his panicked thoughts and looks at Tseth. “Uh— nothing- it’s nothing.”
Tsadi glares back at Tseth. “It’s none of your business, anyway.”
"It is my business when you're making a ruckus in the middle of a military camp. I do not condone violent behavior like yours." Tseth is getting too many bad signals from both Resh and Tsadi. He doesn't like it. Resh's reaction is too familiar.
“Violent?” Tsadi huffs at Tseth. “I don’t see any violence. What, do you want me to just-“ He punches Resh in the arm. It doesn’t look like he hit Resh that hard, but Resh’s reaction says otherwise. “-do that? Huh?”
Resh jerks his arm away from Tsadi, wincing. “Stop it- let’s just go, I don’t want to cause any more problems—“
“Shut it.” Tsadi glares at Resh, and he goes silent.
Teth looks back and forth between the two. She has no idea what to do, or how this all escalated so quickly. No- I don’t want Tsadi to blow up at him again. I need to do something-
Before Tseth does anything, Harper is between the three men. "This argument has gone off-course. At this point, end it. It's worthless to continue." Tsadi and Resh shouldn't be anywhere near each other.
Tseth can only watch as Tsadi aggravates Resh more. Before he knows it, Harper is between all of them, trying to diffuse the situation. "Harper-" He's cut off by the look Harper gives him. Okay then-
Tsadi glares at Harper, while both Teth and Resh give her a grateful look.
Teth walks over to Resh, nodding at Harper. She looks up at Resh and says in a hushed tone, “Just ignore him. Stay away from him, he’s angry and I don’t think either of us want to see him blow up at you again.” Resh nods slightly, but he still looks worried.
Tsadi crosses his arms. “What the fuck are you gonna do about it?”
Teth glares at Tsadi, walking to him and elbowing him. “Stop being an asshole. We’re long overdue to get out of here, so let’s just leave.” I can’t believe I’m the voice of reason here.
(homie if Harper and Tseth didn't have more self control you'd be in a physical fight with both of them)
Harper looks up at Tsadi with a carefully neutral face, but doesn't say anything to him. She turns to Teth and Resh. "The main temple in forest is that way," She points to the north. "you'll see it on your map. If you want to get to prairie, go the opposite direction. Good luck."
Tsadi storms off, Teth following close behind. Resh stays behind, looking at Harper and Tseth apologetically. “I… I’m sorry for wasting your time. Both of you.” Without another word, he turns around to follow Teth and Tsadi.
Tseth watches Tsadi as he storms off. He looks, for a lack of anything better, pissed off. "Просто еще один ебаный Сайрус." ("Just another fucking Cyrus.")
Harper looks up at Tseth with a mix of concern and sympathy. "I know, Tseth. But you can't let that interfere with how you deal with him."
The trio walks in silence for what feels like decades. Teth makes sure to stay in between Resh and Tsadi, keeping an eye on Tsadi in particular. Finally, she speaks up.
“So…where should we head to first-? The temple seems like the more reasonable option.”
Resh shrugs. “That sounds fine to me.” He seems to have recovered quickly, but all three of them know he hasn't.
Tsadi only huffs in response. He still seems pissed off.
Teth looks at the two uncomfortably. “…Alright, temple it is.”
The forest is quiet. The rain stopped a couple minutes ago. Every once in a while, the sounds of bird wings flitting through the trees can be heard. In the near distance, it sounds like there's a stream of water.
Teth looks at the map, then looks back up and continues walking. Resh looks over her shoulder at the map, muttering to himself. Other than Resh thinking out loud, it’s complete silence between the trio.
Resh pulls out a knife and starts fidgeting with it. It’s easier for him to think when his hands are busy. “Weird… this world is a little like ours, but it’s not. Temples, Megabird, Eden and the Wastelands… all the darkness corruption… the forest and the prairie connect to each other…”
Teth glances up at Resh. “Yeah, it’s really strange. If we were taken to a different world, why do the Islands have so much in common with… wherever this place is?”
(Cuz they both originate from the same game that’s why we made this crossover)
(funny cause she's the one who had the answer earlier, multiverse)
The path they're on seems to be leading them closer to the stream. The sounds of the water have gotten louder. There seems to be people up ahead as well, their talking mixed in with the sounds of the water.
(What if I told you I redacted her braincell privileges so she didn’t become self aware 🙂)
( >:0 /j)
(Probably a good idea we don't want her to go feral)
Resh pinches the bridge of his nose, growling. “No idea… but this is all making my head hurt.” He seems slightly annoyed as he hears the voices. Great. More people. What was I expecting- He glances at Teth, and she looks equally as annoyed as he is.
(listen you antisocial mfs I need something to narrate other than the forest sorry)
The path is a long the stream now, and the people are visible now. There's only a few of them. Something is different about them, though. Their forms are almost blurry, and greyed out. Their speech can be heard, but not understood. They're also… very short. Only three or four feet tall, like children. One of them walks up to Teth with an outstretched hand. Their hand is glowing, like hot metal or rock.
(mildly eldritch children yes)
(Do not question how my brain imagines skykids)
Teth blinks a few times, staring at the… shadow-children?… Particularly the one with the glowing hand. This place only gets weirder and weirder. She awkwardly reaches out and touches the child’s hand. This is how you greet little kids on the Islands… maybe that’s how it works here, too?
Resh looks around at the children. That’s weird. Why are they all muddled? It’s like I’m looking through murky water at them.
When Teth touches the child's hand, their form suddenly becomes clear to her. No longer grey and blurry, but just as a normal person. They bow at Teth, smiling. And then they move to Resh, with the same outstretched hand. The other forms have noticed them, watching their friend greet the trio.
(Gremlinssssss)
Teth blinks a few times, slightly disoriented. Huh. Guess that worked.
Resh looks down at the child, crouches down, and touches their hand as well. He smiles a little at the child.
The child smiles back at Resh. They move to Tsadi, hesitating a moment before reaching out their hand to greet him.
(HELP LMAO)
Tsadi looks around at the other children, then at Teth and Resh. “Do I have to-“
Teth rolls her eyes. “It won’t kill you to be nice to the child, dumbass.”
Tsadi sighs and crouches down in front if the child, touching their hand. He looks tired and pissed off, probably not the nicest looking individual.
The child tilts their head at Tsadi, before giving him a small bow. They back up a couple steps to see all three of them. "Hello! Who are you?"
