The forest is quiet. The rain stopped a couple minutes ago. Every once in a while, the sounds of bird wings flitting through the trees can be heard. In the near distance, it sounds like there's a stream of water.

@the-void-phantasmic group

Teth looks at the map, then looks back up and continues walking. Resh looks over her shoulder at the map, muttering to himself. Other than Resh thinking out loud, it’s complete silence between the trio.

Resh pulls out a knife and starts fidgeting with it. It’s easier for him to think when his hands are busy. “Weird… this world is a little like ours, but it’s not. Temples, Megabird, Eden and the Wastelands… all the darkness corruption… the forest and the prairie connect to each other…”

Teth glances up at Resh. “Yeah, it’s really strange. If we were taken to a different world, why do the Islands have so much in common with… wherever this place is?”

(Cuz they both originate from the same game that’s why we made this crossover)

@Morals-are-for-mortals language

(funny cause she's the one who had the answer earlier, multiverse)

The path they're on seems to be leading them closer to the stream. The sounds of the water have gotten louder. There seems to be people up ahead as well, their talking mixed in with the sounds of the water.

@the-void-phantasmic group

Resh pinches the bridge of his nose, growling. “No idea… but this is all making my head hurt.” He seems slightly annoyed as he hears the voices. Great. More people. What was I expecting- He glances at Teth, and she looks equally as annoyed as he is.

@Morals-are-for-mortals language

(listen you antisocial mfs I need something to narrate other than the forest sorry)

The path is a long the stream now, and the people are visible now. There's only a few of them. Something is different about them, though. Their forms are almost blurry, and greyed out. Their speech can be heard, but not understood. They're also… very short. Only three or four feet tall, like children. One of them walks up to Teth with an outstretched hand. Their hand is glowing, like hot metal or rock.

@the-void-phantasmic group

Teth blinks a few times, staring at the… shadow-children?… Particularly the one with the glowing hand. This place only gets weirder and weirder. She awkwardly reaches out and touches the child’s hand. This is how you greet little kids on the Islands… maybe that’s how it works here, too?

Resh looks around at the children. That’s weird. Why are they all muddled? It’s like I’m looking through murky water at them.

@Morals-are-for-mortals language

When Teth touches the child's hand, their form suddenly becomes clear to her. No longer grey and blurry, but just as a normal person. They bow at Teth, smiling. And then they move to Resh, with the same outstretched hand. The other forms have noticed them, watching their friend greet the trio.

@the-void-phantasmic group

(Gremlinssssss)

Teth blinks a few times, slightly disoriented. Huh. Guess that worked.

Resh looks down at the child, crouches down, and touches their hand as well. He smiles a little at the child.

@the-void-phantasmic group

(HELP LMAO)

Tsadi looks around at the other children, then at Teth and Resh. “Do I have to-“

Teth rolls her eyes. “It won’t kill you to be nice to the child, dumbass.”

Tsadi sighs and crouches down in front if the child, touching their hand. He looks tired and pissed off, probably not the nicest looking individual.

@the-void-phantasmic group

(I would die for this child thanks)

Tsadi rolls his eyes at the child and stands up. Teth glares at him, then looks back down at the child.

Resh is the first to speak. “I’m Resh Corvus,” He points at Teth, “this is Teth Cassiopeia, and the mean looking one is Tsadi Cepheus. We’re… a little lost, to be honest.”

Tsadi glares at Resh when he refers to him as ‘the mean looking one.’

@Morals-are-for-mortals language

The child giggles at Resh when he calls Tsadi mean. "You are correct. You don't belong here, do you?" They tilt their head. They seem to know the answer already.

A couple of the others have gone to stand next to their friend, looking at the trio curiously. One of them walks up to Resh to greet him.

@the-void-phantasmic group

Resh shakes his head. “No, we don’t.” He looks over at the other child greeting him, and touches their hand as well.

Teth watches Resh talk to the children, then looks up at Tsadi. “See? He’s great with kids.”

@Morals-are-for-mortals language

The second child looks up at Resh. They look older than the first, closer to a young teenager. "You are lost, and yet found. Adrift in a sea of confusion. Do you know what brought you here, or is that also lost?"

Th first child watches the second as they speak. "Avirex, you know the adults don't like when we speak like that!" They cross their arms as they look at Avirex.

Avirex only rolls their eyes in return. "Afraid of a little fun, Sena?"

@Morals-are-for-mortals language

Avirex looks back up at Resh. They speak a bit slower than before. "Do you know what brought you here, Resh Corvus?" They glance at Teth and Tsadi, quickly going over to them and tapping their hands with their own. They don't seem to care much about politeness, but now Teth and Tsadi can understand them as well.

Sena looks shocked when Avirex does this. They want to say something, but don't.

@the-void-phantasmic group

Teth doesn’t seem to mind Avirex tapping her hand, but Tsadi quickly jerks his away. “What the hell-“

Resh shakes his head, intrigued and slightly creeped out. “…No. I don’t. My guess is that it was some deity.”

@Morals-are-for-mortals language

Avirex looks at Tsadi, almost staring through him. They look a bit disoriented, before looking at Resh again. "Deity? As you're named after? If you plan on speaking to Resh, you may as well die now." They can't help but glance at Tsadi again as they speak.

@the-void-phantasmic group

Resh shifts uncomfortably. “Uh… okay?”

Teth glances at Tsadi, then looks at Avirex again. “The fuck do you mean-?”

Tsadi narrows his eyes at Avirex. Why is it looking at me?

(Mur der)

@Morals-are-for-mortals language

Sena glances anxiously between Avirex and the three adults. "They mean going to Eden. Right?" They look at Avirex as they speak.

Avirex looks back at Sena. "…Yes. Going to speak to a deity, speak to the elders. Not Resh." They quickly turn away, going back to the still-greyed others.

Sena quickly bows an apology to the trio after they leave. "Sorry. Avirex sees better than most of us… and has been around longer. It makes them different."
