The soldier tilts their head at him when he introduces himself, Teth, and Tsadi. They laugh at the last part of his statement, though. "I'm guessing you've gotten that reaction a lot. I'm Calian."

(ooo)
(That is a v cool name, anyway,)
Resh shakes his head a little. “You have no idea…” He tilts his head at Calian and smiles a bit. “Pleasure to meet you, Calian.”
(thanks i took it from Pinterest)
Calian bows their head slightly. "You too… Resh." I'll have to get used to their names. At least they won't be hard to forget.
Teth huffs slightly and looks up at Resh. “Why do you always introduce me as ‘the short one’? I’m not that short.”
Resh looks at Teth and narrows his eyes. “You’re tiny. And it’s easier that way.”
(Also it’s easier for me to write,)
(mlem)
Calian looks down at Teth. “Well… he isn’t wrong. By manta standards, at least.”
Teth glares at Calian and crosses her arms. “Shut up-“
Resh laughs and pats Teth on the head. “See, even they agree that you’re little.”
Daphne watches Resh and Teth for a moment, then speaks up. “Uh- I’m one of the shortest in my family. The only one shorter than me is my little sister, Evie… and she’s probably gonna grow taller than me anyway.” She shrugs.
Teth looks up at Daphne. “You’re the shortest? Dear Megabird, you people are giants…”
Calian laughs at Teth. “If you want to see shorter people, go to a butterfly village. They’re all-“ They gesture to a height a few inches shorter than Teth. “Most of them, at least. There’s always some outliers.”
Teth blinks a few times. “Oh. Interesting. Where I’m from, people are usually pretty small… but there’s obviously a few exceptions.” She gestures awkwardly to Tsadi and Resh.
Calian looks up at Tsadi and Resh and chuckles a little. “Yeah, wouldn’t consider you two small.”
(How tal do you think Calian is I’m open to suggestions but imagining somewhere in the 5’8-6’ range)
(tal. I will not elaborate.)
Resh raises his eyebrows slightly. “I would hope not.” He looks over at Tsadi, who only rolls his eyes in response.
(o k)
(So closer to 6’)
(inhale or more idk)
Calian looks around. There should be a side-path leading to the abandoned area of the snowy mountains soon, if they remembered correctly.
The wolf looks at a spot to the right side of the path, in the woods. She disappears without warning.
Resh looks over in the direction the wolf disappeared to, making a small eh? sound. He blinks a few times, then shakes his head and looks forward again.
They all walk for a few minutes before they reach the side-path. Calian gestures for them to follow. “This will take us to the abandoned section.” They mumble the next part to themselves. “Which hopefully won’t be crawling with soldiers…”
Resh sighs and looks a little more tense. “Oh, great…” He grabs the hilt of his sword, fully prepared to fight if needed.
Daphne looks around, then closes her eyes and takes a few shaky breaths, silently praying that they wouldn’t get caught.
Tsadi’s hand hovers near his spear, and he’s just as alert as Resh is.
Teth wraps herself in her cloak, narrowing her eyes.
(Well ok)
(Shhhhhhh)
(sips tea)
(I am asking kindly)
(For a fight orrrr no fight)
(uhhh yes)
(👀)
After a few minutes the wolf finds them again. Her jaws are bloodied, and she’s holding some sort of white weasel in them. She walks up to them and trots next to Resh.
