The Prince couldn't help but let out a squeak of surprise, his legs making him move back as he looked at the man in front of him. "I–…." Was all he could get out, a blush making it's way to his face.
The Prince couldn't help but let out a squeak of surprise, his legs making him move back as he looked at the man in front of him. "I–…." Was all he could get out, a blush making it's way to his face.
An arrogant smirk crept onto the deity's face. "Shocking, isn't it, how handsome a bird can be?" He sauntered up to the Prince and ran a manicured hand through his hair . "Almost as beautiful as you." Taking a single step back, he announced. "You may call me the God of Sun."
Hyacinth's face turned redder, looking up at the other with confusion written across his face. "I–wait–you're Apollo?" He asked, resisting the urge to drop down to his knees at the moment.
Apollo's smile fell. "Well, yes. But the God of Sun sounds much more dramatic, don't you think?"
"Y-Yea, I guess it does…" Why in the world was a god talking to him? And why did it have to be Apollo? Why couldn't it be someone else that wouldn't make his heart pound out of his chest? "Um–Do you need something, My Lord?"
Silence fell over the two for a split second before the deity burst out laughing, tearing up and doubling over in his glee. "Oh! My Lord!" he wheezed. "That's a good one!" He unsteadily straightened. "Haven't heard that one in a while, you know?" he told the Prince, wiping his tears away. "Now, dear one. What would your name be?"
Hyacinth's face turned even redder (if that's possible at this point), not making any eye-contact with the god. "H-Hyacinth…"
"Lovely!" Suddenly Apollo squinted at Hyacinth. "You're rather red. Come now, tell me what's wrong?" He snapped his fingers and two plush white armchairs appeared for the both of them– the God gestured to the Prince to sit.
Hyacinth didn't object, not wanting to anger the god as he sat down in one of the armchairs. "Nothing…"
Apollo studied Hyacinth thoughtfully, eyes sparkling with interest. "Am I really that intimidating?" he asked finally.
"N-No, just wondering why you're here.." Hyacinth mumbled, trying to get his heart to not beat so fast. Stay still, stupid beating heart.
A heartbeat suddenly made itself known to the god's divine hearing, and his cautious smile grew. "I'll tell you once you're at ease. How does that sound?"
"It's fine, you can tell me now…" Hyacinth replied, finally making himself calm down and more relaxed as he glanced at the god. Goodness, he's gorgeous.
Said god kept his eyes trained on Hyacinth, the smile never leaving his tanned face. "Well, I've actually already told you. You're beautiful." He leaned forward in his chair, elbows on his knees. "And good. You're pretty, and you're good, and I like you very much."
Hyacinth's face turned pink again, but it wasn't that obvious considering he had tan skin. But his face turned redder when the other said he liked him very much. "But you don't even know me that well…"
Apollo leaned back in his chair with a sigh. "That's the problem with immortality. You get bored, and you become easier to please. But see, I won't do as my elders do, simply impregnate one by dust…" he told Hyacinth, his voice drifting off.
"So, you only like me because of my looks and because I asked you if you wanted any food or water when you were a bird?" Hyacinth asked, moving some hair out of his face.
Caught off guard, Apollo took a few seconds to answer. "Well… yes. What can I say, we're not great people. But! I came down here to talk to you— only to talk." He said this carefully, confidently, eyeing Hyacinth curiously as he did so.
Hyacinth visibly relaxed a bit, sighing through his nose in relief. "Okay then…"
Apollo followed his lead and relaxed his posture, giving a quiet musical sigh as he did so.
"So Hyacinth. Are you happy in this royal life of yours?"
"Kind of, it's not that easy…" Hyacinth answered, straightening his back just a when he heard the question.
((I'm so sorry, my exams are doing me in))
At that Apollo brightened. "Would you like a break from the duties then?" he asked half-excitedly, hald-nonchalantly.
(It's fine, I understand, take your time)
"Umm–sure?" Hyacinth mumbled, glancing at the floor beside him. He was surprised no one had come to check up on him.
Apollo, now grinning again, froze and sat back in his chair with a frown. The grin didn't leave his face, and it made for a very strange expression. "Alright, Prince. You are clearly not at ease," the god pointed out.
"What do you mean? I'm very much at ease," Hyacinth said, furrowing his eyebrows together in 'confusion' as he was worried the god might do something if he wasn't at ease.
