"What kind of job keeps you from a bag of cookies?" Kadachi asked, feigning mortification as he put a hand to his chest dramatically
"What kind of job keeps you from a bag of cookies?" Kadachi asked, feigning mortification as he put a hand to his chest dramatically
Met stuck his tongue out, shrugging. "A job. Literally any job that isn't a desk job." He laughed softly, grabbing another cookie.
"Well, that's not true at all. I work at a small bakery downtown, and I can have all the sweets that I want. Not that I often do, but it's the concept that counts," Kadachi chuckled. He had always been worried about his figure since he was young, all because of how soft his body was
Met hummed softly. "Lucky. For my job, I have to stay under a certain weight but be able to lift enough pounds and run enough miles. And shoot a gun. Be active… there's a lot I have to do."
"Well, that's not something a single bag of cookies would hurt. Or a little slice of cake here and there. Moderation is your friend," Kadachi hummed
Met sighed softly. He had to agree with the occasional cake slice, but he'd go out of hand. And hell, he could not go out of hand.
"No, I'd want more. And more. It's sugar to my brain that'd just… ugh."
Kadachi giggled again at that. "You must really like sweets to be afraid of a little bit here and there. I might just have to start bringing you lollipops. I make them homemade," he hummed
Met frowned, sighing and sitting down. "Oooh…. it's too tempting. I can't get back on sugar, Neo made me stop and I'm not going back on it unless I have to."
"Get back on sugar..?" Kadachi asked, tilting his head in a slightly confused manner. Was Met somehow addicted to sugar before?
"Yes. Get back on sugar." Met sighed. "You know it's addictive, right? It was to me, at least, it's how my body reacted with it." And my magic… My magic really fucks up when I have sugar.
Kadachi's eyes widened a little. Suddenly, he felt terrible for insisting Met take those cookies. "Oh. Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't–I didn't know, I must have been really upsetting you with those cookies," he stammered, feeling awful now
"Oh, no, don't feel bad, Kadachi," Met assured, turning to him, with a smile. "It won't kill me to take these." He laughed.
"A-Are you sure?" Kadachi stammered, eyes wide and worried as he looked up at Met now. He didn't want to upset the other any, he had just been trying to be nice with cookies
Met nodded slowly. "Unless you want to leave all of your cookies for me, go ahead, but if you want to have some for yourself… please take them. I'll eat them all." He laughed again.
Kadachi just nodded, trying to think of something to say. But he eventually just took a cookie, nibbling it as he looked off to the side
Met took a cookie rather suddenly a few silent-moments later, taking it into his mouth with a faint sigh. I'm actually going to die.
Kadachi nibbled his cookie, eating it slowly before taking a sip of his wine. "Thank you for not shooting me earlier," he eventually said, lip quirking a little in a smile as he tried to break the silence
"Oh, you're welcome. I'm technically allowed to shoot it, but I'd never shoot it at someone who has cookies. The blood might get all over them," Met said wisely, cramming another cookie in his mouth, most child-like.
Kadachi just chuckled at that. "Yes, I'd suppose that would make a lot of sense. No one likes blood on their cookies."
Met stood and shuffled across the kitchen, nosing around in his refrigerator. One might notice the load of starchy foods he had stashed here and there, not to mention random bags of chips or saltier foods such as pretzels stored in drawers of the fridge. He grabbed out a gallon of milk, which was bagged up at the cap, with the cap still on it.
"Would you like a glass of milk?"
Kadachi nodded, smiling wide enough to flash a glint of teeth. "Yes please. Can't have cookies without milk," he hummed
Met nodded and set down the gallon, removing the cap with the bag and setting it down nearby. He grabbed a cup and poured a glass, handing it back to Kadachi once it was served.
Kadachi thanked him, giving him that heart-melting smile as he took a chocolate cookie and dunked it in his milk with a small grin
Met returned the smile with a tiny one of his own. He poured himself a glass, set the gallon back and sat with a soft hum.
Kadachi took a small sip of his milk before taking another cookie, dunking it in his milk before taking a bite out of it
