Arthur practically flew through the trees, heading deep into the woods. He was at a fast pace, not his fastest, but the trees whipped by faster than you could blink. He weaved through them, ducking under three branches, and around pines, tail streaming out behind him.
After a while of letting Arthur run wheverever he wanted, Kyle tapped him a little, “We need to turn back.”
Arthur nodded, heading a little further, "Just give me two seconds, there's something I need to show you"
Kyle nodded a little but knew they’d have to hurry. The part of the woods they were headed into wasn’t safe.
Arthur slowed as they came to a cliff, stopping at the very edge. "I… I need to show you my real abilities…" said Arthur, "Not just the fact that I'm half wolf…"
Kyle climbed off of Arthur, slightly confused, “Okay, but we need to be quick. It;s not safe here.”
"Nothing is gonna hurt us while I'm here" said Arthur shifting and backing towards the edge of the cliff.
“I didn’t know you had an ego,” Kyle muttered, watching him carefully, “What are you doing?”
"Showing you my secrets" said Arthur, not even bothering to glance back as he stepped of the edge of the cliff. Letting a violet aura surround him.
Kyle let out a little gasp and ran forwards, “A-Arthur?”
Arthur let the auras surround him, it'd been awhile since he'd done it, but it was something he was comfortable with. The auras faded, and Arthur could feel the wind pulling at his wings. He let them snap open, riding the air currents upwards, the sun glinting off of silver and violet dragon wings.
Kyle stood there with his mouth agape. Arthur really was full of surprises today, not the he minded.
Arthur sighed, riding the currents up to land behind Kyle, "I.. I hope I didn't scare you…."
Kyle shook his head with a small laugh, “Nah. You could never. You just… suprised me.”
Arthur laughed, "Well… I think this is the last surprise…"
"You sure?" Kyle raised an eyebrow and gave him a once over, "And I though you couldn't get hotter."
Arthur laughed, "Well I don't use my powers very often…. so you're lucky to even see this," he said, glancing at the metal band on his left wrist, which was pulsing faintly.
Kyle followed his gaze to the bracelet before back to Arthur's face, "Well, I'm honored."
"Has nothing to do with honor…" said Arthur, "I don't use them cause getting them hurt me, and a lot of people…. It's a very long story." Arthur let his wings fade, a shadow of old wounds crossing his eyes.
Kyle sighed through his nose, walking towards Arthur and placing a hand on his cheek, "I won't ask now, I'll wait till your ready, however long that might be."
Arthur leaned into his hand, smiling softly, "How was I lucky enough to run into you?" he asked quietly.
Kyle smiled softly back, running his thumb under his eyes gently, "I don't know. Maybe it was fate, maybe it was luck, or maybe it was a miracle."
"I must be your stoke of-" Kyle cut himself off when he head a loud rustling, followed by some kind of demonic screech, "W-We need to go. Now."
Arthur heard another rustle behind them, instinctively slipping an arm around Kyle, his auras began to flow, violet mist surrounding them, his wings reappearing, pulling Kyle into one. "We're blocked in on the other direction, mind telling me what we're dealing with?" he asked Kyle.
Kyle swallowed, "We call them Night Stalkers," He started quietly, "They love up in the mountains but some down to hunt occasionally. They prey on anything, mainly deer but humans too. They can't see but have an amazing sense of smell…" There was another screech, causing Kyle to flinch a little.
