(where are they going?)
(School)
"I hate Mondays…" August rested his head on hers and yawned.
"You're preaching to the choir on that one," Kate murmured.
He laughed a little. "You're right." They arrived at school and he jumped up.
Kate slid off the seat. “Hey!” she cried through giggles.
"Sorry!", he said quickly and grabbed her hand, running.
Kate gripped his hand tightly as he ran. “Calm down, fly boy, we’re not late.”
"You know I'm just like this!", August lightly laughed. He looked behind him to be sure Kate was holding up.
She was staggering along just fine. “And you know I hate running unless I have to. This is girlfriend abuse.”
He slowed to a walk. "I know, I know… I couldn't help but to run."
“I know,” she said with a sly grin, kissing his cheek softly.
"Then why'd you stop me?", he pouted.
“Because you’re cute when you’re mad,” she said with a giggle.
"I'm not mad, I'm disappointed.", he said, mimicking what his parents used to say sometimes. He laughed a little at the memory.
“Way to pull the disappointment card,” she teased, rolling her eyes.
August noticed one of his friends walking into the school. "Come on, let's go catch up to Jay!", he shouted before taking off again, pulling Kate with him.
Kate moaned, but she was smiling. “Hi Jay!” she said when they reached him.
"Hey guys!", Jay said. "What did you think of the school play?"
"It was kinda boring.", August answered, turning to Kate.
"Boring?! I was in it, you moron!" Kate hit his arm.
"You were the only interesting thing about it! Of course I though it was boring!", August said, drawing back his arm. Jay laughed.
Kate crossed her arms and pursed her lips. "I'm offended," she said, her sparkling eyes giving away the fact that her words were hollow.
"What?! I said you were interesting!" He sighed. "Girls…"
Kate let the smile leak onto her features. "I can't stay mad at you, you know," she said with a laugh.
