Kanaan
Kanaan started off again at a slower pace, moving steadily so that she could fall asleep. "Sleep, Faith. I've got you."
Kanaan
Kanaan started off again at a slower pace, moving steadily so that she could fall asleep. "Sleep, Faith. I've got you."
Paxton
“Thank you.” Paxton dipped his head gratefully. “Do you mind if I stay here until he leaves? Or am I scaring off potential customers?” Pax looked around before shuffling awkwardly towards the side of the booth. I’m overstaying my welcome, aren’t I?
Azzy
Azzy nodded, gesturing towards the stool she had brought along, kind of behind the booth. "Feel free. Some more company would be nice." She shifted to the side to make more room, at the same time using her foot to scoot the stool so that it was more accessible.
Paxton
Paxton thought for a moment before slipping behind the booth and sitting down on the stool. The smell of the warm bread made his mouth water. He took out the half loaf of bread. “Want some?” He asked, offering up a piece.
Astra immediately swooped over and snagged it, despite the piece being only slightly smaller than herself.
Azzy
Azzy ran a hand down her face, sighing. "Dammit, Astra." She smiled apologetically at Pax as she carefully pulled Astra away, setting her back on the counter of the booth. "I'm, uh, good. Thanks though."
Astra
Astra let out an indignant hoot, flapping her wings with distain. “What’s that for?”
Paxton
Pax nodded at Azzy, ripping off the chunk that Astra and touched and placing it next to the hungry owl. “I appreciate your hospitality.” He smiled, although still a bit wary, and ripped off some bread to eat.
Azzy
"It was for stealing his bread. You could at least ask nicely." Azzy said, gently poking the owl's side. She looked over at Pax, raising an eyebrow. "Hospitality, huh? I gave you a stool, but alright."
Paxton
“More than most have done. You gave me bread too. Might be able to eat everyday this week cause of that.” Pax shrugged, munching relatively peacefully on his piece of bread.
Astra
Astra’s wings fluffed up as she was poked, but simply finished demolishing her share of the bread before fluttering onto Azzy’s shoulder.
Azzy
Azzy reached up to smooth Astra's feather's shrugging her free shoulder. "Unlike the rest of these assholes, I'm a decent person from time to time. You really think the bread'll last you?"
Paxton
Pax watched the owl settle onto Azzy’s shoulders. He set down his satchel, somewhat jealous of the close bond the pair seemed to have. “It’ll last me if I ration right.” He shrugged.
Azzy
Azzy sighed, swiping another loaf off the counter and tossing it to him. "Quite the situation you got there. Take that, I'll pick up an extra shift or something." She wasn't sure why she was even bothering to help him. She was probably just tired. "So, you lived here all your life?"
Paxton
Pax caught the bread on reflex, his eyes widening. “Thanks, Luz.” He murmured, a bit stunned. “I… I can’t make you work extra time. I might have a few coins left. I’ll just buy a little less next week.” He mumbled, rifling around his satchel for anything he had left to spare.
“Born n’ raised here.” Pax replied to her question. “You ever heard of Gates farm? Closed down around six or seven years ago?”
Kanaan
Kanaan started off again at a slower pace, moving steadily so that she could fall asleep. "Sleep, Faith. I've got you."
Faith
Faith let her eyes drift shut, losing herself in the gentle rocking motion of Kanaan's gentle pace. "Thank you…."
Azzy
"I've heard of it, yeah. My brother and I used to go screw around in the woods near it." Azzy said, waving off his offer of money. "Look, don' worry about it. If you really wanna pay me back, how 'bout a favor if I ever need one?"
Kanaan
"Of course." Kanaan replied, tone gentle. Faith had him kind of worried, with how much work she put in without taking care of herself.
Paxton
“Alright, a favor works. I’m good with lifting if you ever need that.” He shrugged, dumping the coins back into his satchel. He tucked away the bread as well, contented with the sudden surplus of food.
Faith
Before she knew it, the gentle side-to-side motion had lulled her into a light, but peaceful sleep. One which was thankfully dreamless….
Azzy
"I'll hit you up if I ever need someone strong then." Azzy grinned, turning her attention the woman who had just approached. She couldn't help but notice the looks she gave Pax, but stuck to a professional sale, relaxing once she was gone.
Paxton
“Maybe I should go…” Pax had seen the looks he’d been given as well, although he was used to it, he also knew he wasn’t good for business. “Sorry for the trouble, Luz.”
Azzy
"Ignore her. Nasty woman." The last part Azzy muttered to herself, lip curled up in a sneer. "You don't have to leave if you don't want to. I always appreciate the company."
Kanaan
Kanaan heard the bustle of the market before he saw it. He hoped the noise wouldn't disturb Faith, and kept on his way despite the glances and sidelong looks they received.
Astra
“She was rude!” Astra agreed, cooing sympathetically.
Paxton
“If you’re sure.” Pax shifted uncomfortably. “I don’t want to cause much trouble.” He sighed, chewing his lower lip.
Bump)
((Sorry! I was trying to give someone else the chance to respond….mainly Qxeen.))
Azzy
"Trouble is my middle name." Azzy quipped, scratching under Astra's chin. "You worry a lot, y'know that? I've already told you you can stay."
(Should I have Faith wake up? I don’t know what else to do wkth her other than that)
(Sorry about that, I don't know what to do)
