A warm, rosy look was about her, and she gave him a soft smile. “That would be awesome, if you really don’t mind.” Harmony said, holding her arm with the other. She rubbed her chilled arms, wishing she hadn’t packed away her sweatshirt. Though she didn’t want to be the person who kept everyone up while she looked for it.
“Would you want to sit together on the bus?” She inquired, rocking on her heels as she spoke.
(Sorry it’s short, I gtg)
(that's totally fine)
Noticing her movements, assuming she was cold he quickly dropped the bags. Not actually. He set them on the ground just in case anything was fragile.
"here" he says slipping off his hoodie, lifting up a bit of his shirt while he did. On accident of course.
He handed the hoodie to her. "sorry, it might be a bit big." he smiled, picking up her bags as they made their way to the bus.
"oh, I was going to ask you the same thing. So yes, I would like to" setting the bags in the back with everyone else's suit cases, the two made their way in the bus. Cass chose a closed off seat in the way back. "would you like the window seat?" he offered
She hadn't noticed, otherwise her face would have been a lot more red than it already was. Harmony looked down at the hoodie in her hands, and lifting her gaze up to him. Her heart skipped a beat, and she made sure to catch up to his stride.
Pulling on the hoodie, her finger tips only met the sleeves, so she let her arms dangle at her side. Happy to hear his response, Harmony stuffed her hands, in the pocket near the front.
"Oh, would you mind?" She asked, stepping up to him. Resting her hand on his arm, she squeezed pass him before sitting on the seat closest to the window. "I have always liked the sun, and outdoors." She hummed, turning her face to his.
He let out a small chuckle at her comment. The sun… the irony killed him.
Smiling, Cass sat down beside him. “I heard it was going to be about 5 hours.” He says with a yawn. He was more tired than usual, not even having any naps now. He hated the fact that he couldn’t sleep without having terrible nightmares. But it was what it was and he couldn’t change the fact, so why complain about it.
“I’m excited” he smiled, looking around the bus as everyone sat down. He wondered what they were going to do for five hours straight on a bus ride. He was sure they would figure something out.
Harmony smiled back, and once he had sat down she rested her head on his shoulder. The two had grown pretty close over the pass few weeks, and now Harmony felt comfortable with this.
They were about to be on a bus, for the next five hours. She might as well get comfortable.
"Five hours… should be interesting." She hummed, lifting her gaze to study his face. "Do you have any ideas what we could possibly do in that time?" She asked, fiddling with the sleeves of his hoodie.
A sigh escaped her lips, and she sunk into her seat. Content, she rested her eyes as she leaned against him.
His cheeks heated up. Well actually, they didnt, considering he was a vampire and his skin was as cold as ice, but he was sure if he wasnt they’d be red by now.
Not wanting to move an inch, he smiled contently as the bus drove down the road.
“I have no idea. Sleeping sounds nice. But also we could talk, play games. Make up stories. I used to do that with my sister every now and then whenever we were bored.”
A smile rested on her lips, and she looked up at him. "If I fell asleep, would you?" She inquired, her voice smooth and soft. Harmony picked at the rips in the knee of her jeans, shifting her gaze to that.
"I don't want you to be bored, if I did fall asleep." Harmony mumbled, shifting her position slightly. Her knees were curled up besides her, and she was half resting on his should and her own arm. "I don't mind staying up if you won't sleep."
"no it's fine. I will if you do" he smiled. He wanted her to rest. And most likely if she did fall asleep knowing the human mind and all, she would only sleep 2-3 of the hours there and maybe four depending on how much sleep she got last night.
Though since this was a rickety bus with people talking, it wasn't exactly the best place to sleep for a long period of time. He would sleep, he couldn't sleep. But he was good at lying even though he felt bad lying to his friend.
He shifted a little bit, wandering if he could do something in order to make her more comfortable. He could lift his arm up and put it around her or she could even lay her head on his lap. There was enough room. He was just overthinking again.
"are you comfy?" he asked finally
A soft sigh escaped her lips, and she nodded. "If you're sure." She told him, relaxing more now.
Her thoughts went astray, and she let them get into a tangled mess as she sat there. There was so much that could go wrong on this trip. She could get injured, for a multitude of reason. Twisting her ankle, attacked by an animal, spraining her wrist. The thoughts of bad things kept coming. They could possibly all die, because a pack of hungry wolves could smell their food. They could drown in the lake. Most of them were illogical, but it still concerned her.
Cassius's question snapped her out of her thoughts, causing her to look at him.
"W-what? Oh, Uh yeah, I'm perfectly comfortable."
He was thankful for his darker skin, his blush being less noticeable when she looked up to him. Her big eyes and her father adorable face, it made his heart melt.
"if you need me to move or anything I can" he shrugged
(sorry it's short)
(It's all good!)
Giving him a shy smile, she sat up. "I'm alright, thank you though." She told him, pressing her lips against his cheek. Slipping back down into her seat, she rested her head on his shoulder once more. He was perfectly comfortable to her, and she didn't need him to move.
Forcing her thoughts onto something else, she watched her pale hands attentively. She stretched them, and spread them apart. Just to distract her. And it was working some. She wasn't thinking of the bad scenarios any more. So that was a plus.
When she kissed his cheek he stiffened a little before turning furiously red. Well, as red as his darker skin could get. Thank goodness it didnt show much.
He looked down to his own lap, his blonde hair falling in his face as he did. Oh golly, what was this?
His stone cold heart beat fast against his chest as he still felt her lips linger on his cheek.
And man, she looked absolutely adorable in that hoodie, it was almost hilarious. Her scent. Maybe it was perfume, maybe it was just her honey sweet blood that drove him to her in the first place.
He didnt know what in the world it was, but there was something different about her and he was worried. If she could draw in a vampire that’s lived almost 200 years alone, then she would definitely lure in wolves. And plenty of them. She was basically asking to get eaten with that sweet aura of hers.
He leaned his head on hers, not disturbing her from her comfortableness. (If thats a word lol)
Closing his eyes, Cass found himself drifting off into a short nap.
(I think this is going to have to be a shorter response, because my brain isn't functioning this morning)
(that's totally fine. Mine isn't really either right now)
Harmony herself, felt she was beginning to slip off. But she was determined not to.
She wanted Cass to fall asleep first, just so she knew he had gotten any bit of sleep. She began to hum softly, twisting the strings of his hoodie around her painted finger nail. Her silver blue eyes seemed to have lost focus onto the seat in front of them, and she was mindlessly starring.
No thoughts were going through her head, just silence. Somehow she had managed to drown out the noise from the bus, a tired look settling on her face.
She could feel the added pressure from his head on hers'; that had snapped her out of her state. Blinking a few times, she rested her hand on his knee.
"Hey Cass?" She asked in a soft tone. If he was asleep, she would let herself slip off. If he responded, she wasn't going to let herself sleep.
She wasn't quite sure why, but she felt like she had to make sure he had to fall asleep. It was odd.
"You still awake?"
(I'm sorry I'm having troubles coming up with a decent reply. I'll try my best to get it up in a sec. Sorry to keep you waiting so long!)
He had, yes, fallen asleep. A light sleep though, so he was waken up by her voice.
Turning his head surprised to see her awake since he thought she was asleep. Smiling a little, he nodded. "yeah I'm awake. You okay?"
(again, I'm sorry it's so short)
(It's alright hun! You can keep making it shorter if you need. And I'm sorry that I disappeared yesterday, I wasn't even home.)
"Just fine, I was wondering though…" She mumbled, trailing off her thought for a moment. She had lost what she was thinking, as soon as she had heard his voice. It distracted her, but in a good way. It just made her feel all fluttery.
"Wondering… Oh right, how do you think this trip is gonna go?" Harmony asked, humming slightly.
He couldn't help but laugh a small bit when she lost her train of thought then regained it again. She was absolutely adorable and he wasn't about to deny it.
"hm…" he stopped to think, sitting back and looking back at the ceiling of the bus for a few seconds before looking back at her.
"I think it's gonna be fun! I'm excited" he says with a bright smile. "what about you?"
She honestly looked far from excited, as she looked down at the floor. A huff came from her, before she looked back up to him, scanning his face. His smile was contagious, so she smiled back.
"I really don't know, I've never been. So what am I suppose to expect?" She asked, bouncing her leg in place, just slightly.
"I guess I'm nervous, but I think I'll be fine." She told him, her smile staying on her lips.
In all honesty he was nervous as well. The wolves made him already paranoid and scared for everyone's safety. It was in his hands to protect them. To protect her. Could he do that against a pack of hungry wolves in their territory?
He didn't let it show though, so he ruffled her hair and wrapped one arm around her, pulling her to his body. "it'll be alright" he says kissing the top of her head, returning the kiss from earlier.
"if anything goes wrong leave it to me to fix it and you'll be safe" he says confidently. And he meant it
Her face flushed, and she let a half nervous smile stay on her lips. Her thoughts were off in a spiral, but she did her best to contain them.
"You sounds so confident in that." She whispered, resting her head on his chest. He was just so inviting, and sweet. Feeling more calmed, she let her silver-blue eyes rest, and made herself fully relax.
"And I trust you on that. Though I don't want the pressure to be fully on you." She whispered, taking the hand from around her arms, and pulled it tighter around her.
That was it. That's when his cold heart just melted in fluttery sweet goodness as she pulled his arm tighter and he held her in his arms. The feeling of protection he had over her only grew in that instant and his heart was a Pitter pattering mess in his chest.
Holding her there he yawned a little bit, trying his best not to show his fangs as usual. Though failing. Luckily she wouldn't have seen right? It was fine. He was pretty careless and could play it off quite a bit.
Closing his eyes, he leaned his head back and tried to take a nap. A small one before the nightmares Flood in.
