She blinked a few times in surprise. That was a long name.
"Cassius Avian Thomas Sandoval? Goodness me, I think I might need to just call you Cass." She smiled brightly once more, and glanced back to the teacher. "If you think of any, you can call me as you please."
“Yeah, I get that a lot” He says with a little laugh And a smile of his own.
“I quite like Harmony, but if I do I’ll tell you” he says with a little nod.
He was careful to keep his voice down so he wouldn’t need get in trouble on the first day. Man that would be a distaste.
A warm pink rested on her normally tan cheeks. It spread to the tip of her nose, and up her neck. She wasn't sure how his words could have effected her so bad, but they did.
"Why thank you." She said with a slight smile, not as bright as before. "I do really like yours, though it would be rather difficult to remember."
"thank you, but it's fine. I can remind you if you ever forget" he says sweetly "but again, Cass will do just fine." he says writing something down on his paper as he remembered a few things from last year. And the year before that and the year before that and so on. It was only to make the teacher happy that he was taking notes was all. He already knew it all. He was always sure not to get perfect grades, though it was a little hard. He relearned this every year over and over and over again.
"I might ask, though I think I have it for now." She smiled, leaning on her fist looking him up and down. She had to admit, he was rather handsome. Everything from his darker skin, to his lovely eyes. He was rather stunning. To Harmony at least.
Maybe it was just her, but she didn't care. She thought he was good looking, at it was going to stay that way. She had invested herself in him now, keeping her gaze on him. Most the time, their teacher didn't care if they talked, as long as they weren't distracting the teacher. "Cassius Avian Thomas Sandoval, right?"
Studying her as well, she was pretty, sweet a kind. Most people don't actually get to know him. He liked her as a person so far. Her sweet blood was a little much for him though. Clentching his fist underneath the desk whenever the fan in the room blew her way, her scent blowing into his lungs.
He tried his best not to show it though.
He nodded "yep. It's a rather old name. Though my mother thought it was perfectly normal" he says casually.
It was perfectly normal for dukes in that day.
"I think it's unique."
She was being honest, it was. Not something you would hear every day. 'Cassius Avian Thomas Sandoval… Cassius Avian Thomas Sandoval… not too hard to remember.' She told herself, turning her gaze back to the teacher. Her short hair flipped to the side when she faced their teacher. Her silver blue eyes glanced back to him, every few seconds. He was super attention captivating.
"I really do like it." She smiled warmly, lips pressed together.
(Okay so, we might want to discuss what 5e plans are for like after school or even lunch. Because I’m thinking the main plot is going to start today (in this story) just to get things going. Maybe him telling her that she needs to leave because ya know…werewolves are after her and they’re really dangerous. Her not, and thus sticking with him and he can’t help but feel really protective over her, blah blah blah)
(That works for me! Do we want to do it in PMs?)
(I'mma go ahead and boop this, but take your time~ We can always skip time too)
Up front the teacher stood, discussing a class camping trip in a few weeks. He was still distracted by the sweet blooded girl to even realize until she said "woods"
That wasn't a good idea for sure.
He turned back to Harmony with a warm expression "hey, do you know any more details about this trip? " he asks in a hushed whisper.
(the field trip is probably where the main plot will start. I don't want it to be very slow so we might skip to it soon)
(That works for me! Once this class is over, we could skip to the day of.)
Harmony looked back to Cass, and smiled. "Lost in thought I presume?" She questioned, setting her pen aside.
On her notepad she had written out the details of the camping trip in neat handwriting. Each letter was perfect, not smudged at all.
"I have the list right here, I can read it to you, or hand you it."
“Oh that would be nice. Could i see it? Im more of a visual person” he says politely. Plus he didn't want the teacher hearing them chattering away in the back.
After reading more of the details he was a little more relieved, but still nervous.
They would be in log cabins near the edge of the woods that apparently stretched to a small town with a beach nearby. He loved beaches, so that was a bit exciting, though only at night. He got sunburnt so easily.
No he didn't sparkle in the sunlight. Though he low-key wished he did. Cassius always thought it would be pretty cool to sparkle and be all pretty whenever he stood in the sunlight. Nope…. just pain.
He handed the paper back to Harmony with a smile “that sounds fun” he says more relieved now that hes read all of the details. He would still have to work everything out so everyone would stay safe.
"It normally is." She hummed with a smile.
Though she wouldn't know from experience. Every year she had found some excuse not to go. Not even on purpose, it just happened. She got sick, injured, or the thing got cancelled. This year she was determined to go, no matter the circumstances. It was her goal as a senior, besides finishing the year with good grades. Of course that was her main priority.
Though right now, she could only think about this camping trip. The thing she never got to do, that her mother thought she was crazy for wanting to do. Though so did a majority of her female, and male even, classmates. They just didn't understand.
Soon the bell rang and all of the students stood along with Cassius, but he stuck with his newfound friend.
“Are you going?” He asked, making sure not to lose her in the sea of students shoving past them.
(Sorry its short)
(It's cool, you're fine!)
"I would hope so. This year at least, being my senior year." Harmony smiled, packing up her few things.
The classroom was empty, except for them and the teacher, who was busying herself with the next lesson for the next class. Her zipper echoed when she zipped up her backpack, before turning to look at him.
"I really hope I get to go this year." Her sweet smile rested on her lips, while she looked at her fellow student.
So she was a senior too! He was happy to hear that. The high schools tend to mix grades with certain subjects so you could never be sure who was actually in your class until you asked.
He looked around to the teacher then back at Harmony before picking up his own bag and swinging it over his shoulder swiftly. “Have you not gone any of the other years?” He asked as he stepped towards the door. He didnt want to be late on his first day of school.
Harmony, once all her stuff was gathered, followed after him. Her hair flipped when she waved at the teacher and turned back to him. “No, something always comes up.” She sighed, lifting her stunning blue gaze to meet his.
“Are you planning on going?” She asked in a hum, picking up her pace once the two were out the door. “Because if so, I would start making some friends, and avoid enemies." Clicking her tongue, she picked up her pace slightly. "Almost no one gets partnered with friends, and everyone is stuck with someone they hate. The irony is ridiculous.” She snorted, turning her glassy silver-blue gaze onto him.
(oh goodness, thank you. I could find this to save my life today)
He turned to her before thinking about it. Well… Pretending to think about it. Of course he was going. There was no way he wouldnt. A risk a whole generation of students go down the drain? No way
"yeah I'll go" he shrugged, pausing a second to look at her gorgeous eyes before turning back before she could think he was staring. Hopefully…
(should we maybe skip to the day of?)
(Works for me! I'm real quick just going to write a short thing for ^^)
Harmony smile at him, bumping his elbow lightly with her arm.
"Awesome, I can't wait to see you then." Letting out a short breath, she turned her gaze in front of her. She had gotten lost in thought, or so it seemed. She was actually watching a group of kids come out of the classroom in front of them.
"I- I will see you at lunch." She told him, before seemingly disappearing into the crowd of people ahead of them.
The next few weeks passed by, in what seemed like hours. CJ had gotten 'the flu' and wasn't able to go on the camping trip. She had told Harmony the day before, she really didn't want to go, and it just so happened she didn't have to. Her parents hadn't even bothered to argue.
So Harmony was in the back seat, of her parents sleek black car, their drive bringing her to the meeting point they were going to take off at. Things had gone smoothly so far, but she had her fingers crossed just in case.
Cassius was actually excited for today. Nervous and not really looking forward to the wolves that were potentially there, but it would be fun. He was ready to get really sunburnt though. Which will suck, but it’s definitely going to be fun and worth it.
He waited with almost half of the class at the meeting point, a gas station a little bit from the towns edge. Two large busses waited there. Everyone had already packed their suit cases into the bus.
Looking around, Cass had made a decent amount of friends, in which he was waiting for one right now. Harmony had been nothing but really sweet to him and she was actually pretty cool.
He was more excited for this trip just thinking about it, he almost didn't notice the black car pulling up along with a few other cars carrying the rest of their classmates. Now they had all of the students and were ready to load into the bus. He looked around, waiting anxiously for the sight of his small friend.
The black car, with tinted windows pulled up to the rendezvous point. "Thank you, I'll see you later." She smiled to the driver, slipping out the door while holding onto her backpack. It wasn't incredibly full or heavy, because she had a separate bag that was slightly bigger with most of her stuff.
Her mother was insistent she bring extra unnecessary, so to please her, she did. Though, she had pulled 75% of the things out, her mother had told her was necessary, out.
Harmony was determined to not let her family, or anyone else get in the way of her camping trip. She wanted this to be up to her, being independent. So she stood tall, and carried both her small bags over to the bus by herself.
She caught sight of Cassius, and her smile was brightened by the double. "Hey!" She chirped, strutting over to him. Her bright eyes made her path, over to Cass, and she was there. She set her bags at her feet, and looked up to the taller boy.
"You excited for the trip?" She asked, brushing her jeans out smooth, and running a hand through her short blonde hair.
He smiled at her, about to offer to carry the bags for her before she just plopped them on the ground.
"yeah! Oh, I'm glad you're able to come. I got a bit nervous for a second not gonna lie." he says rubbing the back of his neck as he looked away for a second. He purposely stood under the shade at the moment. The early morning air was rather chilly but he was glad he brought a hoodie. Fog surrounded the gas station, the vehicles and the students. It was a cool morning, but he couldn't wait to get on the bus.
Almost on cue, the teacher announced the students were getting on the bus.
"okay guy, we have everyone. Put your bags in the back along with everyone else's unless you want them with you. You will be seated with two other people. You decide who that is. We're not going to have assigned seats." the lady smiled before hopping on the bus and sitting in the drivers seat.
Cassius turned back to his tiny friend, bending down to the ground and picking up her bags. "here, I'll put your bags up, unless you want them on the ride."
