“I have my flaws,” I held him tighter, “But I’m happy you think so, Andreas…”
“I have my flaws,” I held him tighter, “But I’m happy you think so, Andreas…”
“Your flaws are what make you even more perfect,” I told him honestly. “I love you because and regardless of them.”
I looked at him and tightened my hold on him, breathing him in softly.
“I love you, too,” I nuzzled the side of his head, “And I always will.”
A peaceful smile overtook my lips, erasing any traces of a worried, anxious frown. My eyes drifted shut, the soothing sound of his voice lulling me to sleep…
And I was out like a light.
I looked down when I felt Andreas go slack against me. I smiled. He looked so beautiful when he slept. It was like he was in a peaceful dream.
I kissed him on the forehead.
“G’night, love,” I murmured, resting my head on his just as our bondmates snuggled on us. Then I, too, fell asleep with my boyfriend in my arms.

{TIME SKIP: A FEW DAYS]
Colton:
I hissed, squeezing my eyes shut, breathing heavily. The monster inside of me probed at the barrier I had built around my mind–a tip I learned from Altair to keep it from emerging. Ever since I began to use the mental barrier, it had become desperate to destroy it. Each time I let down my guard, it would try to break it. In the end, it cost me nearly all of my magic, and it left a major headache in its wake. Altair said it would take a while for my body to get used to such a spell, and if I kept it up, the monster would stop fighting back and would just search for an opening instead of openly attacking.
I never mentioned this to Elle. This probability of this creature taking over me permanently? I couldn't tell her that. She had never looked so happy that day when I told her the lie. She was never with me whenever the monster attacked, which was a good thing.
Elle.
I messed with the ring chain around my neck, letting its presence soothe me. The monster stopped struggling and I collapsed on the bed, my breaths coming out in harsh pants, body burning from almost combusting myself. I needed a shower.
Elle:
“Cole?” I called softly, rapping my knuckles against his bedroom door. There was no reply. A sigh escaped me, and I let my fist loosen and relax, fingers trailing down the gentle grooves in the wood.
I stepped back, echoing Scylla’s soft whine as she rubbed her head against my hip. My eyes drifted down to the golden chain around my neck, to the ring attached, and I found a strength in its subtle presence. After a moment, I tried again.
“Colton?”
I had just come out of the bathroom when the someone knocked on the door. A smile grew on my lips when I realized who it was—Elle. Now, I know I should have worn clothes and not just the towel around my waist, but why not have some fun while I had the chance?
So I opened the door, a smirk on my features.
“Hello, love,” I greeted in a low voice, hair wet from my shower. “Do come in.”
My eyes dragged across the smooth expanse of Colton’s bare chest, widening a fraction. Pink blossomed across my cheeks, partially obscuring a set of faint freckles.
My heart kickstarted.
“Cole—hi,” I stammered, pulling my eyes up to his. “Is this—Is this a bad time?”
“Hi,” I purred, grabbing her wrist and pulling her inside, shutting the door and pressing her to my bare chest. She was so adorable, getting flustered with just this. “Definitely not, love. Why would you think so?”
Her cheeks were burning and I could practically feel the heat radiating off of her. I loved the effect I had on her. I loved it, almost as much as I loved her.
A dizzying rush of euphoria overtook my, and I found myself leaning against him in case I fell. “You—You, um—“ My mouth was numb, refusing to form coherent syllables and words. A bead of sweat trickled down the back of my neck. “H-Hi.”
I grabbed her hand gently, bringing it to my smirking lips and pressing a soft kiss to it. God, she was so adorable, wasn’t she? I loved her. I loved this woman.
“How is my queen today?” I murmured, kissing her on the cheek. “How was your training?”
I panted softly, slipping my arms around his waist. My fingers skimmed his bare skin.
“Your queen…” An enormous, flustered smile split my face. “I love it when you call me that. And—I’m fine. Flustered. Training was boring without you to pin me to the ground. How—How are you?”
"That's what you are, aren't you? My queen." I hummed, loving the feeling of her arms around me, more so with no shirt on my person. I chuckled at her next statement, kissing her cheek. "Well, if it makes you feel excited, we can do that half an hour before curfew. I can pin you to the ground, and it'll be a bonus if we have an intense make-out session."
“You should probably put on some pants..” I murmured, blushing furiously. “Lest your towel slips off during said make-out session.”
"But wouldn't you like that?" I teased her, nuzzling her cheek. "Having my towel slip off? You're certainly enjoying feeling my bare chest."
“If you tease me any more,” I threatened, promptly ignoring my heated cheeks, “I will turn around and walk right out of this room without giving you a single kiss.”
I tightened my hold on her, chuckling at her threat. "But then you'd leave both of us wanting," he nuzzled her neck, breathing down on it. "Would you want that?"
I shivered noticeably, but acted on my threat, disentangling myself from his embrace. “Alright, you asked for it, I’m going now.”
I only tightened my hold some more.
“Okay, okay,” I laughed. “I’ll stop. For now. But if you pull away from me, chances are my towel will drop. Or are you actually going for that?”
I pushed my face against his chest, groaning in protest. “For the love of god, Colton..” I muttered, “Put on some pants, at least.”
I chuckled, kissing the top of her head.
“I will,” I grinned. “Let me go and wear pants. You can continue to admire my chest, though.”
“You’re insufferable,” I informed him. After a moment of deliberation, I exhaled a warm cloud of breath across his skin, trying to make him squirm.
I tensed, looking down at her.
“What are you doing, love?” I questioned with a quirked eyebrow.
