(Yeah a little bit.)
King felt his breath hitch and blood pump when she did that. He took a minute to compose himself stopping the car and stepping out to join her. He walked over and stopped offering her his arm as his eyes greedily ate up her appearance once more.
She took his arm and soon they walked into The restaurant. She looked around with a smile. Oh she was actually pretty hungry.
(sorry it's so short, Im in a hurry)
King smiled as they entered the diner. He sat down in one of the booths as a waiter walked up to welcome them. The menus were on the table.
She took in the surroundings of the cute place. She turned to King with a sweet, almost innocent smile.
When the waiter came up she ordered, knowing exactly what she wanted. It was short and simple and it didn't cost much at all.
King ordered something similar to her order. He let out a breath as the waiter left them, "So why dinner first if you don't mind me asking."
Her foot touched his leg, purposely of course. “Well you’re interesting. I like you King” she admitted. Though her cheeks were a bit red. “I want to get to know you. You dont look at me the same way all of the other men look at me. And to be honest” she looked around, already feeling a bit insecure with eyes on her.
“I like that about you. I would like to get to know you before we do anything too serious. So what better way to do that than dinner” she smiled. She was dead serious about this too. She just hoped he felt the same.
King shuddered slightly as her foot touched his leg. It was an unconscious movement but he smiled at her answer to his question. He reached over to rub his hand over her forearm, "I really like that. I, I understand your reasoning and honestly, I agree."
Her face turned red when he touched her. A feeling that he actually cared warmed her. He was a good guy. Could she really be with him? Did she deserve him? She was a monster. A horrible person. She was a villain for crying out loud. More than one hundred victims dead by her hands. The same hands she would use to caress his body and pull him into her lips. The same ones that would run through his hair down to his cheeks.
Could she live with that? Live with being such a horrible person to everyone else and being so good to him? Could she be good to him?
King rubbed her arm as he looked at her worringly. She hadn’t responded yet and had that look that said she was lost in her thoughts. He didn’t what she was thinking about but knew if she hadn’t responded it might not be good. Thinking for a moment he decided to just ask small questions to see if he could snap her out of whatever mood she was in. He asked her quietly, patiently, “Hey. What’s your favorite color?”
Quickly she snapped out of her thoughts and looked at him, putting a hand on his own hand. “Sorry” she paused, regaining her confidence. “I got caught up in my thoughts. Thinking about tonight” she smirked. Playing off her thoughts. And she was good at acting.
She wasnt about to show him her weakness. (debatable)
Soon the waiter came and set their plates down. She thanks him as he walked away and she turned back to kind. “Oh, its red. I think it’s gorgeous. You?” She tilted her head to the side as she ran her finger lightly around the edge of her wine glass. She was surprised they had alcohol here, but once she saw it there was no way she wasnt going to get it. It was cheap too, so why not. And if it hadn’t been, she would have paid.
King found himself calmed by her answer. He knew damn well how to get lost in thought about what was coming. In fact as she mentioned it his own thoughts started to wander. Though he snapped out of it quickly as the waiter came with food and drinks. He nodded and watched her movements taking a sip of his own wine. He put the glass down and thought for a moment, “Blue. It’s such a calming color.”
She thought about it for a minute and nodded in agreement. "yeah. I can see that" she smiled, taking a sip of her wine. She had to be careful not to get drunk because this chick couldn't hold her alcohol very well.
Normally at a time like this, getting drunk would seem as the best thing to do. But for her, it was the worst for two reasons.
One.. She had secrets. She was a mass murderer after all.
And two, she wanted to remember every moment of tonight.
(Mmmm yes. This is going to go very well.)
King sipped at the drink. He only planned on having one glass tonight, he had plans to remember it all. And also he didn't want to risk telling her he was a hero. The only time that would happen was if he was drunk off his ass. So he was avoiding that. He nodded along smiling, "I'm glad. What's your favorite book then?"
She thought about it for a second, mostly distracted by his handsome appearance. Oh she couldn't wait to take his hair out of that ponytail and run her fingers through it.
She went back to his question, trying not to get more distracted. "oh there's this one called More than This. I can't remember the authors name. I horrible with names. But it's probably my favorite one off of the top of my head. You?"
"Lord of the Rings for sure," King responded looking over her once more. He kept himself calm despite his inner turmoil inside, "It's a classic and I'm quite fond of high fantasy anyway. Now why don't you ask me a question?"
She smiled at him as she listened to Him talk. "okay… Favorite animal" she says leaning on her hands as she kicked her legs back and forth under the table.
"Hmm dogs," King responded with a smile, "Golden retrievers especially. What about you?"
"I've always thought panthers were really cool" she shrugged. "have you had any pets? Like when you were younger?" she asked, trying to think of any questions to ask. Man she wasnt very good with conversations unless it was flirting was she?
"A golden retriever," King responded with a low laugh. He hadn't quite realized that until this point, "We called him Prince. So it was King and the Prince."
She had to stop herself from melting in her chair when he said that. "oh that's so cute" she says putting her hand over her chest for a second. "I've always wanted a dog" she laughed.
"They are cute," King laughed as he heard her state how she wanted a dog. Maybe he could keep that in his head for later… He shouldn't be thinking about later, not with his life, "If you haven't had a dog have you had any other pets?"
"oh no, I wasn't allowed to have pets. In any of the homes I was in" she smiled, letting the fact slip that she's been in multiple homes. Though not realizing it. "though there was a stray cat I hung out with every time I walked to school. If that counts"
King didn't miss her mention of multiple homes. He didn't bring it up and decided he wouldn't not yet, "I guess that would count. So you like cats or at least have had contacts with cats."
“Yeah. I do. Quite ironic” she says taking another bite of her food. She mentally noted the fact that it was really good and she should actually come here more often.
Soon, she finished off her food as they talked, she took the last sip of her second glass of wine and smiled at him. Her foot ran up his leg underneath the table as her voice were curved into a flirtatious smirk. “I’m glad i came King” she licked a small drop of wine off her lips.
King finished his meal up close to the same pace she did. He ended up taking another glass of wine and then a third when he finished the second. Why? Because shockingly enough he hadn't realized it. He only realized it after his third glass and stopped after that. This was a moment he thanked his high alcohol tolerance so he was only slightly intoxicated and driving was still possible. His body reacted with the movement of her foot stiffening slightly at the touch as his eyes spotted her tongue just peak out to lick up the drop of wine. He gave her a flirtatious smile and leaned slightly towards her over the table, "I'm glad. I'm quite glad you came too."
