"And we'll be able to. He'll be here, with us. He'll be safe…" Halm looked at Cas again as he slept.
"He'll be safe," he said again, softer now.
"And we'll be able to. He'll be here, with us. He'll be safe…" Halm looked at Cas again as he slept.
"He'll be safe," he said again, softer now.
Nix nodded a bit. "Should we have him reincarnated as like… a baby? I'm not sure if either of us know how to take care of a baby…"
"It might be best for him. We can study. Get help. Well make it work, it'll be worth it for him." Halm gently kissed Nix's head again.
"Mhmm… do you know anyone who's raised children before? Maybe we could ask somebody…?" Nix suggested.
"I know one of the other gods who had, yes," Halm confirmed. "We can ask her."
"When should we do that? We wouldn't necessarily have to do it soon… hopefully Cas will live for many more years."
"We don't have to for a long time. We'll go to her just before he gets reborn, okay? She'll help us while he's a baby too." Halm gently rubbed Nix's head.
Nix nodded and leaned into Halm's hand. "Alright… what's her name?" He asked. "Can… can we trust her?"
"Her name is Serna. And yes, we can trust her. She is a good person, I promise." Halm held Nix close, sratching behind his ears.
"Alright… if you trust her, then I'll trust your judgement. I'd like to meet her at some point, though. Preferably soon, even if we're not talking about child stuff."
"Okay then. I'm sure she'll enjoy meeting you." He kissed Nix's head again, glad he had calmed down. He leaned back a little, looking down at Nix.
"When should we go see her?" Nix asked. "I don't know if it's safe to leave Cas here right now… it's there any way she can come here instead?"
"I can try to contact her. Perhaps she should come over while Cas is still asleep…" Halm sat up a bit more, thinking.
Nix nodded again. "Alright… how can you contact her?" He asked curiously, looking up at Halm from where he was.
"Well… Normally, I would ask Aiko to go talk to her for me," Halm admitted. "But… I'm not sure right now."
"Mm… what's the best way to send a message down here, then? Do you want me to stay here while you go get her?"
"I'll probably get Gloria to do it," Halm finally said. "She should be able to handle it."
"Alright. Where's Gloria?" Nix asked, huddling close to Halm's side.
"I believe she's still in the drawer in my room," Halm said. He rubbed Nix's head a little again, keeping still for now.
Nix nodded and leaned into Halm's touch with a soft sigh. "How is she supposed to know how to get there, though?"
"I'll be able to guide her from here, give her directions. She'll be able to make it." Halm let out a soft breath. His life has gone from almost complete isolation, to a house full of people to quickly.
"Alright, if you say so… should we have her go do that now?" He asked, nuzzling up against Halm's chest affectionately.
"Yes, I think that would be best." Halm stood, holding Nix in his arms, and made his way to the bedroom. He opened the drawer, pulling Gloria out
Nix looked down at the soul curiously, flicking one ear. He stayed silent for now, figuring it would be best to let Halm do the talking.
Gloria looked up at Halm, confused.
"I need you to take a message to another god for me." Gloria's eyes widened a little.
"I have no idea how I'm going to get anywhere, but sure, go ahead."
