(good night!)
Jesse took a deep breath as he parked his beaten up, slight dirty brown car. He took in the mansion looming above him with awe. It wasn't every day that one gets invited somewhere like this, after all. That did make the whole thing a tad suspicious, though, in Jesse's opinion, but he was never one to pass up free stuff. Especially when it looked this fancy.
He turned off his car, grabbing his backpack and a duffle bag with some clothes and snacks inside. He felt his pocket to make sure his pocketknife was there. And, as always, it was. After checking off everything on his mental checklist, he shut and locked his car door and walked up to the entrance of the mansion. He knocked, making the Mario theme with his knocks.
Taran pulled up on her motorbike. She parked it nearby, in the spacious driveway, and climbed off. She took off her helmet, revealing messy silver hair, and set it down on the seat, chaining it to the bike before moving toward the door, combing her fingers - one gloved and one hand bare - through her messy hair.
When she had recieved the letter, she had been suspiscious, for sure. But hey, she had already been a part of many weird things, so who knew what this would bring.
The same door boy opened the door for Jesse while also spotting Taran who had just parked her motorbike. He invited them inside, offering to carry their belongings for them. Gesturing to the door, he told both of them to wait inside the room that was across from the entrance as the person who invited them all here was not here yet and won’t be for a few more minutes.
The said room looked like a meeting room or perhaps a dinner table; a long wooden table, a nice chandelier, and all that you would expect in any fancy mansion.
Amyr wasn't quite pleased with the whole situation. He had flown all the way out from his home just to be there and he was not very fond of flying. He'd hitched the rest of the ride there in a car. The car he was in parked at the curb of the street and waited for Amyr to get out and get his belongs, speeding off almost immediately after he did.
He stepped up to the front door of the large building. He looked around for a quick moment, munching on some beef jerky as he did. After a little, he stopped looking around and reached for the golden knocker on the large front door and sought to use that instead. Knocking a quick three times.
Once again, the door boy answered and gave the last guest a respectful bow before taking his belongings and inviting him to the room across the entrance. Now, however, as the door boy spoke he let out a subtle, yet visible, nervous grin. He had set the belongings to one side of the hall where it was even hard to see from the entrance.
”Looks like it’s about to begin…” the door boy murmured under his breath, rearranging the belongings.
(Now, I just need Amyr to enter the room…)
(Dw, I'm on it)
Amyr gave the door boy a polite smile as he walked past him into the room he was gestured to enter. He sat down at the large table, looking carefully at the other guests, but not saying a word. He was curious what was going to happen while they were here, but he wasn't interested in talking about it with someone who is most likely just as clueless as him.
Tori lounged in her chair, idly fidgeting with the strings of her hoodie. She looked around at the other guests, her deep brown eyes drinking in her surroundings. Nobody was really speaking, so Tori decided to break the silence.
"Hey, my name's Tori. Um," Tori faltered before uttering a small laugh. "I don't really know what else to say, I just felt like I had to break the silence."
Tori sat up in her chair, her ears reddened. She ran her fingers through her tangled black and green hair.
[1:00 PM]
Soon after Amyr had entered the room, the door boy entered.
”Alright. That’s everyone…” he went to in front of the room, that was the end of the table that was across the door. He waited for Tori to finish before saying anything, making sure to not make any sound as to not interrupt her.
”Greetings ladies and gentlemen to your invited vacation away from home. I hope you’ll find this stay… interesting” the man hinted, giving a smile to everyone within the room.
”Now, before anything else, as you four will be our only guests. It might be best if you all would kindly introduce yourselves first… now, I was going to start with the first to enter but… that’s fine. Let’s go to the second, shall we?” the young man gestured to Jesse, inviting him to introduce himself to everyone.
”Just your name and what you want people to know about you”
(That did NOT just happen XD. I’ll change my reply real quick)
Jesse blinked. Why did this feel like the first day of high school? Whatever. He had no problem talking in front of people. “Hi everyone, I’m Jesse,” he said with a small wink. “I like reading and creating things. Also, I’m single.” He smirked.
”Very useful information,” the door boy commented with a bland manner. He turned to Taran, wanting her to be the next to introduce herself. He fidgeted a bit with the remote in his hand, seemingly both excited and nervous.
"I'm Taran," she said, leaning back in the chair. She would have put her feet on the table, too, if she could have gotten away with it… but everything was too pretty. She privately agrees with the Jesse person's reaction to the introductions, but didn't say so. "I like to be left alone, and horror is my jam, so if you hear screams coming from my room, I'm watching something."
”Alright, thank you… and…” the door boy gestured politely to Amyr, the last of the arrivers. After Amyr would finish, perhaps it was time to start the first activity of the day when they were shown that recording. He was getting ready as well it seems, judging from the sounds coming from the wall behind the door boy, too quiet for the guests to hear. It did send chills down his spine.
Amyr looked around at each one in turn with a smile on his face. "It's a pleasure to meet you all… so far. My name is Amyr," he spoke, his voice slightly projected. "There's nothing really that I have to share about me. I suppose I can say that I enjoy tea? I don't know. I'm not interesting." He crossed his legs over one another and took another bite of the beef jerky he had in hand.
The door boy nodded and with the press of a button, the lights in the room dimmed and the projector started playing a prerecorded video. As the video started, the door boy left the room and left the video to play.
”Greetings respected guests,” a man wearing a white mask which covered his entire face spoke with a clearly distorted voice, sitting with his legs crossed. He was dressed in a formal black suit and his hands were covered by a pair of white gloves. ”, I am the Master of the Mansion. I would like to welcome all of you to our mansion… of good old fun.” he started as a picture of the mansion’s entrance was shown.
”Now if you remembered within the letter of invitation, it is stated that your stay is three days and two nights…” another picture was shown, one that showed that every open door or window that led to the outside was barricaded and reinforced, unable to be opened from the inside out. ”…what we forgot to mention was the fact that you aren’t allowed to leave ahead of time. Oh and, if you haven’t realized it by now, telephone signals and internet signals do not reach us” he mentioned quickly before going to the main topic of discussion as for this afternoon.
”Now, I am not part of them but if you haven’t realized it by now… you’re all being hunted. I am merely a game master and I can’t fully control how my ‘minions’, per se, maneuver around the mansion. But don’t worry… I’m not that merciless…” he waved his hand around the air nonchalantly as he spoke.
”If you were to reach down to touch the bottom side of your seat, you would all find a letter with different contents. However, you are not allowed to open and read the letters until the grandfather clock chimes 2 PM. If you cheat, I would know…” the game master chuckled a bit.
”Inside, you’d find your role within the first hunt which will take place around the mansion. Let me give you one advice before I go…” the master got closer to the screen, close enough that his bloodshot eye can be seen clearly through the hole of the mask ”…this is a game of life and death, so play carefully. Bye for now~” the screen abruptly turned off as the lights came back on. The door boy, however, did not come back into the room and perhaps he didn’t intend to come back into the room as well.
"Yes!" Taran said, jumping up and pumping her fists. "I mean, this is bad. This is really really bad." She made a face in the direction of the screen. "Now how am I supposed to watch my shows?" She crossed her arms.
Even after the video ended, Tori stared at the screen, transfixed. "W-what?" Reaching under her seat, she found the letter in question. Tori placed it on the table in front of her, her hands shaking. She pulled her hood off her head, and ran her fingers through her hair.
Jesse copied her, taking his letter from under his seat as well. “So this is like Clue, then?” he asked, a sardonic smile on his lips to hide his mounting fear. “Good thing that I’m the Clue master.”
