"I don't feel like doing anything today," Gwen replied, sitting down at the table. "I'm tired."
"I don't feel like doing anything today," Gwen replied, sitting down at the table. "I'm tired."
"Do you just want to sit around and talk?" He piled a few more pancakes on a plate before offering it to her, starting to cook some for himself.
"That'd be nice," Gwen replied, taking both her plate of pancakes and her drink over and sitting on the couch.
Caston nodded and cooked a few more for himself, dousing them in syrup before following her to the couch and starting to eat.
Gwen broke pieces of the pancake off and put them into her mouth, the pancake fluffy and warm.
"Are they any good?" He asked, stuffing a syrup covered piece into his mouth unceremoniously.
"Of course they're good. You made them."
He smiled and chuckled lightly "I suppose," He looked around and focused on her, "So, what do you want to talk about?"
Gwen turned her body so that her back was leaning against the couch's armrest. "Why are our lives so crap?"
"I ask myself that every day, still haven't figured out the answer.." He continued eating and sighed, remembering his family for a moment, along with his friend, "what did we do to deserve this."
"I would give anything to bring Gabe and Matteo back to life," Gwen said sadly.
Cason nodded, "I would do anything to bring Max and my family back, anything." He finished his food and glanced at Gwen, "Do you want me to take your plate? I can wash them quick."
Gwen looked down and realised she barely eaten her pancakes. She shoved some in her mouth. "No, I need to finish them."
"Alright," He said, nodding slightly before walking to the kitchen and washing his plate. He set it out to dry and came back to Gwen, sitting back on the couch.
"I guess it's a good thing that we met," Gwen said. "Like the universe's way of giving us someone to love."
Caston nodded and smiled softly, laying back on the couch and looking over at her, "Do you want to play any board games or anything?"
Gwen shifted positions so that she was leaning against Caston. "I just want to stay here all day."
He wrapped an arm around her and just smiled, happy to have at least one person in his life who he could care for and know that they were safe.
Gwen sighed, feeling safe. It doesn't matter where she was: as long as she had Caston, she would be happy.
"Do you have any questions for me?" Caston asked softly, leaning his head against hers and closing his eyes lightly.
Gwen was silent for a few moments. "Are you scared of my magic?" She asked.
Caston thought for a moment before nodding his head, "There are times when I'm terrified of it because I'm scared you'll hurt yourself, just like my magic, when I can't control it and I'm afraid that I'll hurt you." He wrapped his arm tighter around her before asking, "Any more questions?"
"Do you think I'm scared of your magic?"
"No. my magic isn't that powerful when I can control it, and even then your magic could easily beat mine." Caston said, closing his eyes lightly.
"Sometimes I'm scared of my own magic," Gwen said softly. "I know what I can do and that's what scares me."
