Gwen shut her phone off and then finished the bottle. Going back to the bedroom, she shot some calming magic through her hands. She climbed back into bed and snuggled up to Caston, knowing full well that she would probably get no more sleep.
Caston draped an arm over Gwen and continued to sleep, rolling onto his side and pulling her slightly closer to him.
Safe. It's the word that springs to Gwen's mind. With Carson, she feels safe, as if nothing can hurt her.
(Sry it's short, schools getting done rn)
He hooked a leg over hers and mumbled to himself, supprisingly still asleep.
(lol, me too)
Gwen stared at the sleeping Caston. He looked so peaceful, like nothing had happened to him. She brushed a curl out of his face.
He shook his head lightly and made another curl fall into his face, waking up slowly. "You should get some sleep.." He mumbled, opening his eyes ever so slightly and looking at her.
"You know I can't sleep after having nightmares," Gwen whispered, taking his hand. "Go back to sleep."
(hey do you have a tapas.io account?)
(Nope)
"Promise me you'll at least try to sleep." He lifted his head up and blinked slowly, determined not to go back to sleep until he got an answer.
(damn it)
"Promise," Gwen replied, knowing full well that she wouldn't get a wink of sleep.
He nodded and laid his head back down, making sure that Gwen was safe before closing his eyes "Wake me in the morning ok?" He asked, drifting off to sleep again.
"Sure," Gwen answered, knowing that she would most likely forget.
(Time skip?)
Caston didn't hear her answer, already sleeping peacefully. His face was soft and it made him look like everything that had happened to them never existed.
(yeah we can skip to the morning)
Gwen woke up in another cold sweat, having somehow fallen asleep again the night before. She looked beside her and freaked when Caston wasn't there. "Caston?!" She yelled.
"Yeah?" he called from the kitchen, setting down the bowl of pancake mix that he was attempting to mix and jogging to her. He ran a hand through his messy hair and looked at her, concerned. "What's wrong?" He sat down on the edge of the bed and continued to look at her.
Gwen sighed and fell back on the bed. "I had another nightmare. And then I freaked when you weren't in the bed."
Caston smiled lightly and stood up, jumping onto the bed so he was sitting next to her, "I'm still here, I woke up pretty early this morning and you had fallen back asleep so I went to the kitchen and am currently attempting to make pancakes." He glanced at her and looked towards the kitchen, "I was going to surprise you with breakfast.."
"You didn't have to do that, Caston," Gwen smiled thinly.
"With your nightmare last night though.." He rubbed the back of his neck and looked at her with a sheepish smile "I figured that you might need something to calm you down and help you relax."
"I just need some soft drink. It always calms me down." Gwen smile a bit wider. "Thanks for thinking of me though."
Caston nodded and looked towards the kitchen, "Well, I guess I'm making pancakes for breakfast since I already have the batter done." He ran a hand through his hair again and sighed "Are you sure nothing is wrong?" He was still quite concerned for her and wanted to make sure she was fine.
Gwen stood up and walked past him to the fridge. "I'm fine. I'm used to them. They happen so often that they're just part of my life now."
"Just…tell me if you need anything." He stood up as well and grabbed the pancake mix, mixing it a little more before testing to see if the pan was hot enough to start cooking them.
"I will," Gwen said softly, grabbing a drink out of the fridge and chugging at least half of it.
Caston started making pancakes, humming softly to himself as he did so. "Do you want to do anything today?" he asked, flipping the first pancake onto a plate with a small smile.
