"Sounds good. I'll be back, my stuff's just out in the car." He stood, letting Babe make it to a shower herself. It was her house, and she would probably make it safely. He slipped outside and over to his car, grabbing his books. He also grabbed an extra long sleeved shirt, which he put over his first shirt. Henry made his way back to the house.

Babe managed to make it up to her room with minimal difficulty, and grabbed a change of clothes before limping across the hall to the bathroom. All she needed was a quick shower.

The same boy who had ran past them, Hugo, was currently out on the lawn. He was painting on an easel, occasionally muttering to himself. The sight of Henry made him pause, and he stepped towards the older boy. "Who're you?"

@BrennaKadavsky

Henry stopped when he saw the boy. "My name's Henry. I'm a friend of your sister's, from school." He paused outside the door, watching the boy. "You're Hugo, right?" Adjusting the strap of his backpack, he leaned against the door slightly.

@croccin-champagne

"Babe has a friend?" Hugo looked a bit shocked at that, but quickly brushed it off. "Yeah, I'm Hugo." He stepped closer, holding out his hand. "Nice to meet you, Henry."

@BrennaKadavsky

At the boy's shock, Henry couldn't help laughing. "She has lots of friends. Her personality's just too hard to resist. Nice to meet you too." He shook the hand, appreciating Hugo's politeness. At that age, he didn't remember ever shaking hands. "I'm actually here to get help studying from your sister."

@croccin-champagne

"Are we talking about the same sister? The jock?" Hugo studied Henry for a moment. "Wait, are you two-" He was suddenly hit with a pillow, tossed from upstairs.

"If you're gonna talk shit about me, do it quietly and not in front of my bedroom window?" Babe called, sticking her tongue out at Hugo. Her hair was visibly damp, and she had a towel wrapped around her body, like she had just gotten out.

@BrennaKadavsky

Henry laughed again, harder this time. "I'm not totally sure about where you were going with that, but no." He waved up to Babe, grabbing the pillow from Hugo. He waved a short goodbye to the boy and went inside the house.

@croccin-champagne

Hugo opened his mouth to ask Babe something, and she pointed, cutting him off. "We are not." Then she shut her bedroom window, and threw on a change of clothes. Leggings and a hoodie from her last team, and threw her hair into a loose braid to let it dry. She hobbled her way to the top of the stairs to call down to Henry. "Hey, want to just study and stuff up here?" She wasn't quite sure she could get back up, once she had gone down.

@BrennaKadavsky

"Sounds good!" Henry called up, finding his way to the stairs and up them. "How's your ankle feel? I can grab more frozen things." He offered, setting down his bag and starting to pull out the thick text books.

@croccin-champagne

"It'll be fine. C'mon, I've got a desk in my room." Babe reached down and snatched his bag before he could say anything, limping back to her room. Her door, like all the others on the hall, had been personalized. Hers was covered in a sort of abstract starry night sky scene, with a few scattered glow in the dark stars.

@BrennaKadavsky

He laughed, deciding not to argue with her any further. He followed her to her room and took in the door for a moment. "That's really cool. Did you draw it yourself?" How many other talents did this girl have that he didn't know about, and that she didn't talk about? He glanced around the hall again, taking in each of the doors and how different from each other they all were.

@croccin-champagne

"Hugo helped me out with it, which is why it doesn't look as bad as it should. I almost put the blacks and purples first, can you believe?" Babe snickered, as though it was some inside joke. "The glow in the dark stars work as a sort of landmark at night for the others. My bedroom is right across from the bathroom, so they know to watch for the stars."

@BrennaKadavsky

"Oh, that's smart." Henry commented, realizing the possible uses. "Anyway, I should probably be home in about an hour, so what do you want to work on first?" He spread out the books, glancing around them and again realizing how incredibly behind he was.

@croccin-champagne

"What are you having the most trouble with?" Babe asked, leaning against the wall by the desk and looking down at the books. Her room was cluttered, and kind of messy. A guitar case was propped up in one corner, and sheet music was spread through out the room, along with clean clothes that she had just never put away. There were trophies on various bookshelves, and a couple different jerseys were scattered, on hanging over the back of the desk chair.

Henry sighed, looking around the room and taking in the things. It gave him a lot of questions, but he decided to try to focus. "Honestly, everything. I barely scraped by last year. Right now, though, I think I'm farthest behind in English." Hopefully she'd be able to help him out with it, since nothing he did seemed to make sense at this point.

@croccin-champagne

"Oh, I love English!" Babe brightened at that, and gestured for him to sit down. "Show me what you need to do, and what you don't understand or whatever. I'll see what I can do!"

@BrennaKadavsky

"People actually love English?" He asked, only mostly joking. He pulled out his book and sat down heavily, flipping to the section they'd been assigned in class. (I'm making the assumption they have multiple classes together, if that's alright) "I don't know. I think I understand it, but when you actually use it on paper, it doesn't… work out."

@croccin-champagne

((They probably would, yeah.))

"Oh, this one's easy. I'm guessing you're using it wrong." Babe made her way around to lean over his shoulder, pointing at the page. "This was the easiest one, try it out so I can see what you might be doing wrong."

@BrennaKadavsky

Running a hand back through his hair, he squinted at the paper. "I thought I had it…" He scribbled down on the paper, changing the words and going back through the whole sentence. It still didn't make perfect sense to him, but to be fair, it never did.

@croccin-champagne

"Oh, there's your problem." Babe tapped a word, chewing on her bottom lip. "That's not right, example-wise(I'm being so vague because I don't know what we're doing lmao). Here-" She grabbed a pen and a loose sheet of paper that was on the desk, and copied down the problem. She wrote down what she had on her homework in class, and pointed. "See? You gotta be careful, otherwise they get mixed up easily."

@BrennaKadavsky

(Neither do I, so that's perfectly alright with me!)
Henry nodded, a look of understanding flashing on his face. "That makes way more sense." He bent over the rest of the paper, going through the problems methodically. He did each of them the way she'd shown, careful to check them with the first example she'd given.

@croccin-champagne

"Look at that!" Babe said excitedly, a grin on her face. "You got it!" She had watched each one he did, mentally checking it with her own work. "Rickson doesn't do a very good job explaining, does he?"
