Drake just nodded, not really knowing what to do. He couldn’t trust himself to say the right thing. Drake could imagine how horrible it must’ve have been. They all wanting her to sit on a throne, sit as still as possible and waving at the people they thought was below them. To Drake, it sounded really horrible. He looked up when the voice of a young person reached his ears.

”Cara!” Gwen perked up as she recognized the little girl running up to them. Getting to her knees, she wrapped her arms around the young red-head. ”How’s my favorite little friend?” she laughed as she picked the child up.

”Good. Missed you today.” Cara giggled. ”Did you get a good hunt?” she asked, looking around a little.

Gwen sighed and looked at Drake. ”Almost. I spent the whole morning following a big stag, with antlers like tree branches, when this guy and his horse scared off the stag.” she said, gesturing towards the knight.

The knight just rolled his eyes. He still didn’t trust himself to say anything. He knew how the conversation would go if he did say something. He would say something that would probably offend the princess and the little girl, making the both of them quite mad. He stayed quiet for a couple of moments before speaking up. “Quite sorry, it wasn’t my intention to scare away the stag.”

”Don’t worry, Drake.” Gwen assured him. ”I doubt you even knew it was there. Besides, I can always try again tomorrow.”

Cara looked at the knight curiously and giggled a little, turning back to Gwen. ”He talks funny.” she said referring to his formality.

Gwen smiled at the little girl. ”Now, Cara, be nice. He doesn't talk any stranger than I did when I got here.” the princess pointed out.

The knight laughed. “I guess I do talk a bit funny. Never really liked how I had to talk with such. .formality. It gets annoying at times, if I’m being completely honest.” The knight said with a slight shrug. The knight smiled at the little girl. “Cara, huh? That’s a nice name.”

”Well, no one talks like that around here so there's no pressure to keep it up.” Gwen assured him with an understanding smile. ”I grew up talking like that and yes, it was annoying.”

Cara smiled for a moment before hiding her face against the princess. ”Thank you. Drake's a good name too.”

So… In honor of the live-action remake of Mulan (which I honestly still haven't seen yet 😅), I’m going to reopen this RP! It’ll be a new thread with the same prompt of the princess getting kidnapped and a Knight having to come ”save” her, I just thought I’d get some feelers out to see if anyone still ”stalking” this dead thread might be interested.
Once again, this will be a Fantasy world setting… but I admit, while I don't know much about the actual culture, I’m kinda leaning more towards an ”anime” style world with mythic creatures/races. I’m still flexible on that, however. It can be realistic, semi-realistic, or whatever you're more comfortable with. We can discuss more once I get a reply. The rules and prompt are still up on page one.
