Megan heard their playing and their singing, and she felt like crying. "I can't believe I'm seeing and hearing this… If others saw this, they'd say it came straight out of a movie, no questions asked…. But this is all real. I mean, it's your culture – and your lifestyle."
Tobias heard some music, and he recognized it. That must be Alex and Arthur! He began to wiggle to it, dancing while still touching the rock. It was all so glorious – he never wanted the night to end.
The song Blaze sang seemed to be one everyone recognized, despite being sung in a foreign language. Soon Alex switched to playing, for Blaze wasn't the only one singing. Skye had warped up to another nook, and had joined her with a melody of his own, seemingly singing a completely different song, but melding it perfectly with theirs.
Megan enjoyed its melody, not particularly paying attention to the language.
Tobias was dancing along, all nice and happy until his foot slipped and he tumbled into the lake.
He yelped shortly as he took the cold plunge. Tobias panicked, splashing and fluffing around before finally crawled out, soaked from head to toe. Th-That was uncalled for…. He began to twitch more than ever, and he finally short-circuited from collecting too much water. His mind blanked, and he glared into space.
Minutes later he snapped back. Wh…. Wh… Where am I???? He swiveled about, frightened. Why are the rocks glowing!!?? Where am I???? He started to get anxious, as some of his memory was wiped.
(Awwwww noooooooeesss)
(You're brilliant! XD)
Soon Skye wasn't the only one that had joined in, Sirus had dug out a kind of violin, and was playing along side them. Damian and Nightstorm sang too, joined by Sirus lower tones. Storm sang too, matching her sister's sweet soprano in a beautiful melody. Ember lifted his head and joined with a soft howl alongside Shiara.
(Hhmmvhnh…)
Megan's gentile sway kept going as more and more people began to sing from the spire.
Tobias amilessly wandered, going around the edge of the lake, shivering cold and totally soaked. He hugged himself as he unknowingly drew further and further from the spire and the main clearing. Wh… What is this place??? He glared at every glowing rock he passed. They d-don't seem to do bad… Which is good…. He kept going, soon tripping over his feet and tumbling to the ground. Where is she?… Megan… Megan… Where is she? But I'm t-too weak to call out… It's so cold….
Soon everyone was either singing or howling, sometimes switching between the two or playing. The four children around fell asleep in people's laps, but the song grew, a sense of inclusion rising as Silver shifted to join the howl.
Frost padded along through the woods shifting as she reached the lake, waiting for Avalanche to catch up.
Megan was nice about it, but didn't dare try to join in. I would, but it just doesn't seem my thing…
Tobias stayed on the ground, shivering violently. It's…. So…. S-so cold…. I can't move o-otherwise….. He slowly closed his eyes and shut down – it was just too cold with the water and the night air for him to function.
Frost went a little further, gasping when she saw Tobias. "Tobias?!" she quickly knelt at the boy's side, seeing that he was soaking wet. Avalanche came over too, "Must've fallen in and passed out from shock…" he said quietly, "Let's get him back to the main clearing…"
Tobias remained unresponsive….
Megan's dancing slowed. Tobias should've been at least merely interested in eating by now… She glanced around and stood up, heading to the tree where she last saw him. "Tobias?" She called up the vacant branches. Wh– Where did he go??? She glanced around the clearing, but didn't see him. I thought I told him to stay here!!
The song eventually died away, most people sighing in comfort or looking up at the half moon, or switching out with patrols.
Frost quickly slipped the soaked boy onto her father's back, slipping up next to him to try and warm him up with her firey aura. Avalanche took off as soon as they were mounted.
Tobias was being warmed, but he was still unconscious.
Megan paced around. "Have you seen Tobias???" She asked Silver. "He was sitting up in that tree back there and now he's just… Gone…" I hope he's alright….
Silver looked up, "I didn't see him leave…" he said, a look of concern appearing on his face.
Just then Avalanche came back, "Silver we found Tobias out cold by the lake, I think he passed out from shock" Frost had her hands on the boys back, a warm glow surrounding him, but he was still dripping wet. Siilver came over immediately checking his pulse but ultimately turning to Megan. "Skye told most of us earlier about him, so…" he trailed off.
Megan was nearly left speechless…. "D…. D…. Don't t-tell me he fell in the lake…." That…. That can corrupt his memory and basically…. Start from…. Square one…. She wiped the oncoming tears. And I know they don't have the technology here to help him…. "I don't know what to do…." She shrugged helplessly. "Without that, he can't wake up…." Her voice became watery.
Frost nodded, "I'm fairly certain that's what happened.." she said. Skye came over a moment later, "What's going on over here?" he asked,
"Tobias wandered off and fell in the lake," said Silver, pulling Megan into a hug. "We'll figure this out ok?"
"I know him more than anybody!" Megan protested loudly. "Even more than Tobias himself!! And when I say he won't wake up, he won't wake up!!!" She bellowed, tears streaming down her face.
Silver took a firm hold of her shoulders, healer mode coming on. "Listen to me ok Megan?" he said firmly, gentle, but firm. "In the long run he's gonna be ok got that? He will be ok. We will find a way to help him."
"None of your healing will work on him," She sobbed, "Because he's not of flesh – he's not a human being," She spoiled, tears bleeding from her eyes.
"I know" said Silver, "Skye took the liberty of telling me, and anyone else who might try to heal him if he got hurt just in case this sort of thing happened." he said calmly. Skye nodded in assent to Silver's words, "If a kid gets hurt around here the healers in the area; namely Silver, Frost, and any solaris halfblood, would immediately try to help with magic, the last thing we needed was someone panicking." he said,
Silver looked into her eyes, "I know this world doesn't have technology as advanced as yours, but I do know a spot where we might be able to get help."
Megan wiped her face. I bet I'm a total embarrassment right now… "I'm surprised you do…." She hesitated. "Yet the longer we let him.stay unconscious, the more memory gets wiped from his cognitive organ….."
Silver frowned, "I think a little magic might help here…" he said, "Oy Matt!" he yelled for the dark haired dragon winged man to come over. Matt warped over, "What do you need?" he asked, raising an eyebrow at the unconscious Tobias.
"Any chance you can cast a chaos spell that makes sure he doesn't age?" asked Silver,
"Silver you know that doe-" he whipped around to stare at Skye, giving him a look of astonishment, "An android huh?" hhe said, summoning a light violet whisp.
Megan nodded slowly. "That's a story for another day, though – I figure we should at least bring him back to the clearing where he's safer…" My poor brother…. She rubbed her arms. Boy, it is quite cold out here…. Must be even colder for him with all that cursed lake water in his skin and clothes….
"Give me two seconds ma'am." said Matt, his violet aura surrounding the boy, drying him off, and pulling out all the water in little bubbles of aura. Finally he touched the boy's hand, leaving a little intricate marking. "That mark will keep his body from aging so long as he stays unconscious." said Matt, "Preventing memory loss or anything like that."
Megan nodded. I wondered why he would want to use that if Tobias doesn't age in the first place… "That's good…" She was still a bit teary-eyed. "But I'm sure a significant part of his memory is already lost…. Yet that's all that's going to be lost…" We have yet to find out how much that part really is… She wrung her hands together nervously.
(Sorry… mom made me go to bed. Which doesn't mean sleep. (At least not in my definition.) So I had to switch to my phone, which is bad for long reply. I also have to go to church soon so I will reply to this later…..)
