Silver placed a hand on his shoulder, "Don't worry, it's not gonna get anywhere near us." he said watching as Luma's flames died away leaving only ashes.
Silver placed a hand on his shoulder, "Don't worry, it's not gonna get anywhere near us." he said watching as Luma's flames died away leaving only ashes.
"Well that's good to hear…." Tobias set the cutting board down (if there was one) and gave the dagger back to Silver. I guess my work is done.
Silver took it gratefully, slipping it into a sheath in his boot. "Could you go grab the frying pan from my den?" he asked, pointing to the large nook off the main clearing.
….Or not…. "Will do…." Tobias meandered off to the nook where he had pointed, and he went inside. He looked around, seeing all sorts of things in there. He managed to find a fry pan in there, and he quickly got out, coming back to the firepit. "Where did the other kids go?"
"Who knows" said Silver, "I'd ask Ember if I were you" he said, gesturing to the dark furred Solaris wolf on the other side of the clearing.
"I suppose it isn't that big of a deal…." Tobias mumbled and went back under the tree before they asked him to pick vegtables from the patch and continued to look around, soon getting himself up in the tree.
"I don't understand…." Megan furrowed her brow. "He was fine when he first came here, when he was with Tornado and Firiko, but… I guess nothing here really interests him too much…."
"It can't help that most of us are adults…" said Frost gently. "He's got no one his age."
"Yeah…. That's true…." Megan said under her breath. Yet at least he can still occupy himself someway somehow.
Tobias climbed high into a branch and sat there, leaning against the trunk and glaring through the leaves at the sky. It was getting darker and darker, and the day was slowly coming to an end.
Skye helped Alex take care of the meat as it roasted over the low flames, leaving Silver to stir fry the veggies in a pan.
Megan watched them tend the meat, a nice roast over the blazing fire. I hope it'll have that nice smoky flavor that I always loved….
Tobias lied down on the branch, closing his eyes. I think I'll stay here for a while…
About an hour later the meat was finally finished, and the veggies had been stuffed inside with some cheese that Avalanche had brought. Silver was at the top of the lineup for food, divying it out evenly.
Megan headed over and glanced up the tree she swore Tobias was in. "Tobias," She said to him, "Come down – the dinner's ready."
There was an extremely long pause before Tobias said, "I decided I'm not hungry."
Megan's brow scrunched. "I don't understand – just several minutes ago you said you couldn't wait until dinner, and now you're saying you're not hungry?" What has gotten into him?
"I'm not hungry anymore," He said.
"You haven't eaten in hours, how are you not hungry???" Megan scrunched her brow and folded her arms.
"I don't know. I'm…. Just not hungry."
(All the water from the river is messing with his performance and things, jus a heads up, I guess.)
Luma came over to her, "It could be portal jetlag.." he said, "Sometimes if you go world jumping it can mess with you a little bit, he'll probably be hungry later."
"Yeah… That might be it too…. Well, I suppose we'll see what happens…" Megan said with a shrug. "However, that smell is making me feel starved, so I'll have some right about now…"
I'm telling you…. I'm not hungry…. Tobias put his arms over his chest.
Luma glanced up at him, but didn't say anything as he followed Megan to the food line as it dwindled.
Megan got in line, and waited until it was her turn to have some food. I'm glad I'm not missing out on this… I bet this will taste amazing!
Tobias sighed out of boredom and clambered down the tree. He knew it was a bad idea, but he went back into the wilderness, finding his way back to the river. He glanced down in it and put his fingers in the water. Aww…. I guess they only come out in the daytime…. He followed the current down the river, further and further away from the clearing.
Silver handed out her portion, then Alex and Luma, then Firiko and Shiara. Fianlly he took some himself, setting aside some for Tobias for later.
Megan took her portion and took a seat in the grass, beginning to eat her food. I'm so glad mosquitoes aren't a thing here…. She grinned, savoring the amazing food. Or I would've been going crazy here….
Tobias went until the river met a lake. He saw the reflection of the fading sky below, like another place. This place is gorgeous…. He went and sat on the bank, watching its calmness.
(Unless you don't want a lake to be there. That's cool too.)
(If there's a lake then there'll be a waterfall. Also the rocks glow silver at night, including the ones on the river bed.)
Luma and his brother soon set out wind gusting throughout the clearing as they took off for the night patrol, Damian and his mom loping off to do the same, along with Matt and Arthur. Each group went in pairs, knowing night was a bit more dangerous. Silver watched as the rock spire -and the rocks around it- slowly began to glow in the darkening sky, lighting up the clearing with it's soft, silvery light.
Tobias watched as something around him began to glow. He swiveled, seeing that the rocks began to emit some kind of glorious, silvery light, illuminating the environment. Holy cow!!! He gasped, crawling over to a gigantic rock and stroking it. This looks so amazing! But I still thing the fish are the best thing, yet they're sleeping right now, I bet.
Silver looked up at the spire, coming over to sit next to Megan, "Food ok?" he asked.
"Oh, yes, it's wonderful," Megan said with her mouth full, swallowing quickly. "I've never had anything like this…. And it's amazing…."
Tobias sat on the one silvery rock, admiring it's glow. He spotted other rocks in the river and the lake that began to light up too, making a wonderful scenery. I wish I could stay here…. This is a much better place than back home…
Silver smiled, "I hope you enjoy the light show!" he said, looking up to the rock as Arthur and Matt came back in, Avalanche and Frostfire heading out.
Arthur landed on a high ledge, his auras flaring around the rock accentuating the silver glow with his violet.
Alex flew up to join him, bringing Blaze with him. his golden auras joining his brother's.
"Hm?? Lightshow???" She glanced at the spire and saw them doing their thing with their auras, blasts of colors augmenting with the glow of the spire. "Holy cow!" Megan jumped, astounded. "This stay keeps getting better and better! Do you do this every day?"
Tobias was submerged, watching the rock glow. This is so amazing… He rubbed his hand along it. Since the view of the spire was obscured by trees and other shrubby foliage, he was unable to see it. But the rock was all he needed to enjoy the environment's silveriness.
"Only when they feel like it!" Said Silver, "though the rocks in this valley glow on their own every night, that's why the valley is called Silver valley."
Alex sat down on the edge of the ledge, tuning his flute, Arthur stood, but did the same. Blaze sighed, and began to sing a lilting song, soon Alex's voice joined hers as they were accompanied by Arthur's discordant flute.
