Mikhail chuckled. "Was she really that pretty?" And now he's literally going to murder you in your sleep, way to go, Mikhail.
Mikhail chuckled. "Was she really that pretty?" And now he's literally going to murder you in your sleep, way to go, Mikhail.
Alex laughed quietly. "I actually hated her. We fought constantly. She almost killed me once, so.. the caretakers sent her someplace else."
"Why did you both fight so much?" Mikhail asked.
"Well, she was so damn stubborn, and so am I, and we fought over everything from the time of day to the funniest looking human on the other side of the glass. And I don't like to lose, so.." he half laughed with a bit of a smirk.
"Heads up, I can be very competitive at times." Mikhail warned with the hint of a small smile on his face.
He rubbed his freckled arm, "Hah, well… i'm not the most agreeable person in the whole world," he held his mild smirk.
"Guess we're not going to get along great either." Mikhail fiddled with his fingers for no reason.
Alex sat up a little straighter. "Well, that's my nest room," he spoke, "I don't know where you're going to sleep," he spoke with a territorial tone.
Mikhail rolled his eyes. "I don't know, where will I sleep?"
"Somewhere other than my nest room," the short teenager stood up, stretching out his boldly black wings. In the sun, they looked glossy and healthy.
"I know that already." Mikhail stood up after a few seconds, his white wings instantly expanding and making him seem bigger.
Alex's lips tightened with a brief glimpse of frustration. It was a little amusing, watching the shorter kid agonize over his helplessly small build. "Well, you'll have to sleep outside then," when they weren't sitting, Alex seemed so harmless. Like a sassy rodent. Harmless—all bark, no bite. Besides, he'd admitted to losing a fight to a female.
"I already figured that would happen." Mikhail said, glancing out the glass room to see if there were any more people staring at them.
"Fine," he exhaled in reply. There was people smiling with amusement, watching Alex trying to intimidate Mikhail.
Mikhail smiled for the fraction of a second before trying to hide the base of his wings as he tried his best to make it look like he wasn't actually trying, he didn't want to talk about why he did it. "So….."
"So?" Alex replied too readily.
"What do you want to do?" Mikhail asked.
He shifted his jaw indignantly. "I'dunno."
"I guess we're just going to stand here then." He muttered, leaning his back against the wall.
Alex turned his head to look at a couple children who'd gathered behind the glass to see them. "Well, I mean… I can't ignore them," he came up with an excuse to leave.
"Okay then, you can go to the children," Mikhail replied, staying where he was as he glanced at the children.
Alex dropped down onto his hands, scampering like a cat towards the glass.
The children giggled as they watched the man run towards him, some also laughed but backed away slightly.
He sat down in front of the glass, smiling widely at them. He opened his wings a little, naturally with curiosity.
The kids that giggled smiled back and waved excitedly at them. The ones that had backed away slightly also smiled but didn't wave back.
