He laughed softly and got up, shaking the grass from his hair "ready?" He asked with a smile "stay close when we get into the deeper part of the forest, there's a pack of she-wolves in the area and they hate Intruders."
He laughed softly and got up, shaking the grass from his hair "ready?" He asked with a smile "stay close when we get into the deeper part of the forest, there's a pack of she-wolves in the area and they hate Intruders."
Tolly barked in affirmative, shaking himself out in tandem with his human. The fur of his side brushed up against Cas' legs. His head brushed against Cas' hip and he leaned forward with a soft bark, urging him forward.
"alright, alright, gorgeous one, I'm going." He laughed, patted his head and started walking towards the trees
Tolly trotted after him happily, taking in the trees with sparkly golden eyes. Every so often a scent would catch his nose and he'd bark, wandering over to the patch of herbs he'd discovered so Cas could gather them.
He watched tolly in amusement and gathered ingredients as he went. He glanced up after a while called Tolly over "this is wolf territory, if you see any of them approaching, do not fight them." He whispered glancing around calmly and gathering more ingredients
Tolly barked out an affirmative and sniffed his way over to an innocuous looking bush that smelled like those berries Cas had fed him yesterday. He could smell the faint scent of other wolves, but he didn't let it get to him.
Cas crouched down near a patched a bluish grass and started picking it carefully. He heard a low growl and glanced up to find a white wolf not so far off watching him.
Tolly was munching on berries when he heard the growl, sprinting over to Cas in a heartbeat. He stayed crouched in front of the human, lips peeled back to reveal his teeth. He didn't growl, just stayed huddled protectively in front of Cas.
The white wolf glared at Tolly and crouched down as if to attack. Cas stood and turned around in a slow circle, seeing that they were surrounded by more white wolves, around five.
Tolly didn't reciprocate, keeping his eyes focused on the wolf in front of him. He stayed crouched in front of his human, protective but no more aggressive than he had to be. He barked at her once, one harsh sound that translated to a vauge 'leave us alone'.
Cas rested a hand on tolly's head "it's alright ladies, he's with me. We're just passing through."
One of the wolves shifted "you know the procedure, cas. Any new comers need to go to Kitira. Especially male wolves." The female narrowed her yellow eyes at tolly. He ebony skin smooth and her hair Stark white. "He can choose to come.e peacefully or fight."
Tolly relaxed when Cas petted his head, though he didn't shift or back down. He kept himself pressed up against Cas' legs as the woman talked and narrowed his eyes right back at her. Once she was done he peered up at Cas curiously, letting out a questioning little whine.
Cas nodded "he'll come peacefully." He reasured, crouching down and kissing Tolly's head "it's alright, Kitira's really nice." He stood and nodded to the female. She nodded "two of you flank either side while one in the back. If you two will follow me please." She led them deeper into the trees. One white wolf, smaller than the others, touched her nose to cas's hand "hi delihlah." Cas whispered with a smile
Tolly hesitated for a moment before he shook out his shaggy black fur and started walking alongside his human. He sniffed at Delilah curiously, tilting his head at her with a charming little sparkle in his eye. He trusted Cas, so he didn't really see any reason to struggle.
Delihlah barked with a small bounce before returning to her spot. Cas smiled and walked to the front "no hi how are ya no nothing?" He asked the female with mock offendedness. She smiled "I'm sorry cas, just following protocol, plus the male so…" She hugged him "is he your mate?" She asked with a bright smile
Cas blushed "not quite that far but yes I love him very much."
Tolly trailed behind Cas, brushing up against his legs happily when Cas said he loved him. He was tempted to shift back to being human, but he knew he'd be naked when he did and it would be decidedly less awkward for everyone involved if he stayed canine.
Cas glanced down at tolly with a smile "heard that one didn't you?" He teased, ruffling Tolly's fur.
The female laughed softly at the interaction "you two would be beautiful as mates."
Cas blushed even more and nodded in a sheepish thanks
"What about you? No mates yet?" Cas asked, trying to get the attention off of him
She shook her head "not yet."
Tolly barked happily leaning up to nose playfully at Cas' hand. He'd been planning to mate Cas for a while, it just seemed like the suddenness would scare him away- the last thing Tolly wanted. His eyes trailed back to the she-wolf when the conversation shifted, head tilting with interest as she talked about her mating life.
"not yet?! A beautiful she wolf like yourself doesn't have a mate yet?!" Cas sighed dramatically and shook his head in disappointment
The female blushed "you know how strict we are with males. Unless they stay true to their mates forever."
He nodded "I know, I know, but still."
She shrugged " I'm content without anyone for now." She glanced up as they neared a treeline "hush now. We're entering the pack. Keep your head down and don't look any of them in the eyes."
Tolly nodded at her instructions, though he knew he probably didn't need to because she was completely focused on Cas, and pressed a bit closer to his human. He was basically pressed up against Cas' leg, nuzzling his thigh affectionately to try and soothe his own worries.
Cas laughed softly "easy beautiful one." He whispered, gently stroking his fur. He glanced up as they neared a cliff edge. The female stopped and knelt down. She motioned for cas and tolly to do the same
"You may rise Dae. No need for formalities when it comes to Castelon." A black haired, pale skined woman said from her perch. Cas rose and smiled "thank you Kitira." He bowed in respect to the female
Tolly did the same as the she-wolf, tilting his head down and settling on his hind legs. His tail shifted anxiously behind him, the bushy black fur slowly starting to kick up dust. He whined softly when Cas stood, looking up at him with nervous eyes before he remembered he hadn't been allowed to look up yet and hurridly turned his gaze back to the ground.
Kitira inclined her head and made her way down to where they were. Some of the wolves came to gather around. She hugged cas as well as dismissed the patrol. "Now who's this?" She asked, tilting her head to Tolly "you may rise, young male."
Tolly hurried to his feet, meandering slowly backward until he could hide behind Cas' legs. This woman seemed dangerous, and he'd had enough experience with other werewolves to learn that his intuition when it came to these things was almost never wrong.
Cas glanced behind him at tolly and patted his head reasuringly "This is Tolly, my boyfriend. We're just here visiting mom and dad." Cas explained, walking with Kitira to the cliffs to her den. She motioned for tolly to join them. "Ah so he's your special one. very rare to come by those now a days." He gave tolly a pointed look, silently promising worlds of pain if he hurt Cas.
