Serenity laughs and hands over the money anyways, looking Ali directly in the eyes as she does so, one eyebrow raised.
"You can't exactly stop me, and besides, if you knew my other friends, they'd tell you this is an argument you won't win." she says, waving at the baristas and opening the door for Ali.
Ali blushes as they hold eye contact for much too long, then looks away, sighing, feeling a little bad as she took her drink. “So you’re stubborn, huh?” She smiles a bit, walking out the door and holding the edge for Serenity. “Not sure if we’re gonna get along well then.” She takes a sip of the tea, watching as the tapioca pearls slide up the straw
"Yep! You love it though. I can see it on your face." she teases.
She watches as Ali takes a drink, then looks away.
"Again, you know you love it!" she says, laughing and taking a drink of her own coffee, sighing as it hits her throat.
"My god, I needed this…" she says dreamily, staring off into space.
Ali turns even redder, embarrassed because she was true. “I can pay you back…” say says, trailing off as she watches Serenity raise the coffee to her lips, dissolving into her own world. how does she do that…
"What- oh, it's fine. I don't really need you to do that." she says, coming back down to earth.
She then sees something that gives her an idea for a painting: a lone palm tree near the beach, framed against the nearly cloudless sky.
She then looks back at Ali to see her even redder than before.
"I didn't know it was possible to get that red." she comments, smirking.
Ali looks down, smiling weakly. She glances at Serenity, then at the tree she was gazing at. “It really is beautiful.” She says softly, as she turns to Serenity. “I think you’ll like it here.” He smiles, then takes another sip. “Wanna go to the beach?” She says, then pauses, stunned that she’d even suggest such a thing. She’d only just met Serenity
Suprised, Serenity blurts "Yes, like you." before she realizes what she was going to say. She herself turns bright red.
"Ummmmm… I mean, yes, I would like to go to the beach." she says, looking away to compose herself.
Ali blushes, her face turning an otherworldly shade of red as she tries to figure out what to say. “Uhhhh… th-thanks. Y-you are too.” YOU ARE TOO!? she looks away, folding her arms tightly. “Well, um. D-do you have a swimsuit or anything? We can just go like this o-or…”
Serenity snorts and turns a brighter shade of red, unsure what she should say but knowing she should say something, anything.
"Ummm… I- I'm not sure… I suppose I could just go like this…" she says, not looking directly at Ali anymore.
Ali presses her lips together. What is going on? We just met! She looks back at Serenity, admiring her soft features, the way her hair blew in the wind, her sleek figure, then turned back away. “Alright, um, yeah. That works.” She smiles at Serenity, knowing how she felt, then decided to do something crazy. “Come on!” She said, taking Serenity’s hand, pulling her across the street into the white sand. She took of her jacket, exposing her skin in her sports bra top. “Have you ever felt the ocean?” She asks, still blushing, the rush of energy still In her system
Srenity yelps as she's dragged along, thinking Why am I feeling this? I literally just met Ali!
She stripped off her own lacey dress coat as Ali stripped off her own coat.
"No, I haven't lived anywhere that has had an ocean, besides here." she grins, laughing at Ali's blush and feeling the same rush of energy.
Ali smiles, no longer a sky smile, a bold one. “You’re going to love this.” He starts toward the water, looking back over her shoulder for Serenity
Serenity follows her, hesitating then sighing and stripping off the rest of her clothes to keep them from getting wet, now just in her underclothes.
She looks at Ali a moment then grins and tackles her into the water.
Ali laughs, splashing her back. “You got my favorite top wet!!” She exclaims, laughing. She tosses some sand at Serenity, running further into the water
Serenity laughs.
"It'll get clean!" she says, following her into the water, grabbing some sand of her own and throwing it at Ali.
Ali giggles as the sand hits her hair, the dives into the water, popping her head back up, staring at Serenity. I don’t think I’ve had this much fun in forever. Or been this outgoing. she smiles, then gets an idea. “Hey, if you’re gonna live here, you’re gonna need a bathing suit. I know a place, if you want to…”
Serenity grins.
"Nah, I'm fine with just my panties and bra." she teases, twirling and diving under the water and swimming towards Ali, popping up and splashing her, then diving back under to avoid getting splashed back.
Ali stares, not lining she’d see so much after knowing her for about two hours. He gets knocks out of it when the spray of ocean water splashes her face. She laughs, diving under after her
Serenity knows Ali's probably uncomfortable with her in her panties and bra, but doesn't really care. A bikini adds up to the exact same thing, anyways.
She looks back behind her and sees Ali there and smiles under the water, kicking her legs and flipping in the water, ending up behind Ali.
Ali loses Serenity, and looks around, nervous. She flips her hair out of the water. “Serenity?” She calls, pulling some curls out of her eyes.
Serenity pops up behind her and says "Hi!", grinning.
Ali sighs, grinning as she laughed with Serenity. She smiles, treading water and looking back to shore. "Its f-f-freezing!" She says softly, teeth chattering a little in the cold waters of the pacific.
Serenity laughs.
"Really? This is just about perfect for me," she smiles. "But we should probably head back, right?"
She realizes something.
"Damn it, I didn't think to bring a bag of shit with me! I suppose I'm walking back to the dorms un my underwear…" she sighs, not really that upset about it.
Ali giggles, swimming back to shore. "Well, its california. You'll blend right in." She strides back out on the sand, picking up a few stray broken seashells, then grabbing her coat, wrapping it around her shivering skin. Should we get an uber?"
Serenity sighs. "Yeah, I suppose I will." She follows Ali back to shore.
She grins. "I'm not sure how an Uber driver would feel about two dripping wet girls climbing into their car, but sure!"
