I've wanted to read it, do you think I should?
This isn't quite the Ilead but I hope you like it nonetheless
Live lonely
Quiet railway cars
headphones in
on the phone
or staring judgementally
I think
this is a place
I can live lonely
Crowded streets
on saturday
everyone hurtles on
no one can stay
I think
this is a place
I can live lonely
Wind whispering
through uniform trees
that grew precisely
where they were needed
I think
this is a place
I can live lonely
Like the firs
the birches
the oaks
where all the branches get trimmed
to leave behind a smoothed stem
untouchable
unclimbable
perfect yet so alone
I stand in place
reaching for the stars
because if I accidentally touched you
I think
you might flinch away
And @Lori_wants_to_sleep, I liked your poems! The first one made me wonder what the wish is, the second was really dark but a meme so yes, of course I like it, and the last one really took me into the helplessness of the doll
@cue-nervous-humming thank you! I appreciate that
I haven't seen any of Lori's!
@cue-nervous-humming your poem sounds like you read the book in writing, then wrote a poem about it. Can I use it? Just wondering.
Thanks for the compliment, though i have to admit I read the Ilead so long ago that the most they have in common is probably being mentioned in this chat.
Ummm… What do you want to use it for, exactly?
I’m writing a book about a modern day orphan train- but can I put bits and pieces of it through my book?
Wow thank you I'm honored! But I think I'd rather you didn't, I'm still working towards the point where I am comfortable sharing my stuff with more than just this chat and my sister, also I think there are still some things I might need to work on for this one… But as I said, I'm totally honored you'd even consider it to become part of your book, I'm just not very comfortable with the idea at the moment. Sorry.
Kk! It’s coolio! I was just wondering.
hey guys what should I make a poem about? and should it be long? a limerick? iambic pentameter?
what’re you feeling?
tired
Oof.
maybe hungry
What am I doing
Hunger
I stare off in the distance
Rumble
I need food
Growl
Maybe some chicken nuggets
No grease
Potato chips will do
beautiful
I smell a tired themed limerick coming!
I woke to the sound of alarms
I wanted to do the clock harm
I swung my arm out
and without a doubt
all I did was hurt my arm
limericks are like the only thing I can do, so any topic ideas?
Slow clap
thank you! bows
intense loud fast clap while sweating to keep clapping
probably too much bowing
