Hey, Random Internet Strangers! I'm currently writing the plot line of a story that involves a lot of mythological creatures from an extremely wide variety of cultures (Nokken, Huldra, Kelpies, etc) and I'm trying to use ones that haven't gotten as much public attention as some others like elves or dwarves. Anyways, mythical creatures- Any ideas for me?
Try shape shifters that aren't Werewolves? Perhaps snakes or others
Ohh, I've actually been playing around with that idea!! Do you know any specific ones? (I'm good with creating my own if not!! :D)
I don't know any off the top of my head, no. My apologies. There are quite a few different takes on the idea of shape shifters, though, so
Got any ideas for the concept, tho? Like how do you think their specific animal would affect their personalitise (if it would at all?)
Hmm. I think it would be more likely to affect their looks than their personalities. Although perhaps nocturnal animal shifters would be more "Night Owls"?
Ohhh, that's a good idea!!
Yeah! And perhaps animals that tend to be more…promiscuous…would be more on the flirty side??
I just imagined a college shifter who was like a bat or something and has literally no idea because college students don't sleep anyways XD

OHHHH Rabbit shifters O.O
Lmaoooo that would be hilarious!
OKAY: so. This is going to be in a comic format, and I honestly REALLY don't feel like drawing a bunch of naked people- how do you think that would work out?

Oh you mean the shifters? And how they shift? Idk man. Maybe when they shift into animal form, their clothes just become part of them, and when they shift back they still have their clothes??
Sounds good!! It's a comic, no one SHOULD question it too much XD
OKAY, so I know you said no werewolves (I apologize) but I kind of had an idea earlier on that werewolves would just kind of be wolf shifters, while lycanthropy would be a bite-transmitted disease that turns people into wolves once a month and slowly drives them insane? (That sounded dark- THIS ISNT A DARK STORY I SWEAR) And like people confuse the two ALL the time, and it could be kind of an ongoing joke throughout the story?? Thoughts?
XD yup! Where are you going to publish the comic, may I ask? Because I'd love to read it!

Hmm…yeah that would be really interesting! Just be careful that it isn't too cliched, since at this point werewolves have been done quite a lot
If you've read the Maximum Ride books, then you'll know what I'm talking about. Avian-human hybrids, specifically, they look like humans, but have wings, hollow bones, are faster and stronger, and have more than two lungs, for some reason. Also, they eat a lot of food because their metabolism is a lot faster.
Yeah, I know- I was hesitant to put them in the story at all, but I just love the idea of someone turning into a giant dog half the time. I'll be sure to avoid cliches tho, thank u! (I had a friend who was obsessed with the Vampire Diaries- that stuff was scarring, fam (*ノノ))
Yeah that sounds perfect!

Ohhh, I haven't read that series before!! I love that idea though!!
