" I don't know" she shrugged
" I don't know" she shrugged
That stung a lot deeper than he would ever admit. He didn't let the impact show on his face, though. He refused to let her know. "That's… that's good to know." Brad mumbled starting to pull back. "I can't do anything to help you stop crying, right?"
"Will you sit with me?" She asked
"You want me to?" Brad asked softly, taken by a bit of surprise. "I thought you would be scared of me."
"You don't have to just forget it" she said crawling to the corner
"Hey, I was just asking. You've pushed me away a lot before, and I thought you would rather do that again then actually talk to me." Brad snapped a little, before cringing. "I- I'll go."
She nodded before bringing her knees to her chest and wrapping her arms around them she cried into her knees
Brad walked off, dropping his head into his hands. Of course she was afraid of him, he deserved nothing better than that. When he said things like that he needed to expect a cold shoulder.
Caroline stayed there crying feeling horrible about herself
"You're being pathetic. Suck it up, Hoax. It doesn't matter what she thinks. It never has. She needs you." He muttered to himself, lightly beating his forehead with his fist. He felt like a jerk, but he also felt like he needed to wait. Though she needed him more now. It didn't matter how he felt either. It was about her, and always was. So sucking it up, he came back to the bathroom and knocked lightly.
Caroline didn't hear and had took her ring off putting it on the counter
"Caroline?" He asked, trying not to think too hard about his feelings. "Come on babe, I just want to apologize. I shouldn't have snapped." He told her in a gentle tone. He sounded fully genuine this time, ready to actually help her.
She shook her head "Just go" she cried
"Babe, I'm not leaving you. Please don't hurt yourself. I'm just stupid, and said things I didn't really mean. Please… come out." Brad pleaded with her, resting his forehead against the door. He was starting to feel drained, after waking up at five and not going to bed until late the night before.
"why don't you go to that dinner later tonight tell your father but you broke up with me I think He'll be thrilled" she said
"I- I didn't break up with you, though." He said softly through the door. "You… you're not-" His voice trailed off, and he couldn't get his voice back. It vanished from his throat, and he couldn't say another word.
She sobbed on her side of the door
He gently knocked on the door, trying to find his voice. "C-Caroline?" He asked softly, his voice dropping once more. He really couldn't say much more.
She sniffled the door slowly opening
When it was open, he gave her a worried look before slowly pulling her into a hug. "Please… don't leave." He whispered, burying his face into her shoulder. "I'm tired. My brain isn't working. I don't know what's going on. Don't be upset with me, please."
She closed her eyes tightly and clench your hands into fists before hooking her arms under his shoulders and keeping one balled fist on his back and the other going to run into his hair as her head into his neck
"I can't lose you again. You promised you wouldn't leave." He whispered, trying to relax. But he couldn't make himself, no matter how hard he was trying.
She didn't say a word and she cried into the shoulder
Taking a moment to breath, he gentle started to rub circles into her back. "Come on, darling. Why so emotional?" He asked in a softer tone, letting her cry.
"I-I thought you were going to leave" she said
