"Im not taking Brad" she said

“Well, I wasn’t going to say Brad, but why not?” Thomas asked, pulling a chair out to sit on next to her.

"I don't want him near my sister" she said

"And there's no one else?" He asked softly, leaning forward to give her a soft smile. "Nobody you can think of?"

she looked at him a small smile plastered on her lips" do you wanna go to vegas with me" she asked.

"I mean…" Pulling back just a little bit, he let his smile grow. "I dunno, it's kinda risky…"

she held onto his hand for encouragement

"I guess I'm free, so why not?" Thomas hummed, pulling her hand up to his lips. Placing a gentle kiss on the back of her hand, he smiled up at her,

"wait about school?" she asked with a blush

"Tomorrow is Saturday. We don't have school." He whispered, standing up from his seat at the sound of the kettle. "Right?"

"we'll probably be back Monday night" she said

"Well, any other day would mean we missed more school. Tomorrow would be the best day to leave." He hummed over his shoulder. When he had said that, I heard a cellphone ringing. "Is that you or me?"

" probably me" she said digging her phone out of her pocket and answering it " Hello?"

"Where are you!?" The panicked voice of Brad asked, as soon as she answered the phone. "I woke up, and you weren't here!"

"Brad…I'm ok I had a meeting" she said

"Why didn't you tell me!? I about had a heart attack, I thought someone kidnapped you!" He continued to freak out, rattling on.

"Brad it's alright I'm fine alright?" She asked

"B-but… I'm not…" He whispered biting into his lip. "Caroline… you're scaring me. Do you not trust me?"

"of course I trust you Brad" she said

"Then why didn't you tell me?" He sounded weak, and defeated over the phone. "Why not just let me know?"

"because I didn't want to worry you I figured I'd get it over then come back home to you but I got caught up" she said

"It worries me more when you don't tell me… where are you right now?" He asked her softly, sucking in a deep breath to calm down.
