Wincing at the contact, he looked up at her in shock. Tears were stinging at his eyes, his jaw still in pain from it being broken only a week or so before. Maggie jumped up pushing pass Caroline. "Anthony?" She asked him softly, glancing at Caroline with a look of anger.
"get out all of you" she said
"C-Caroline, we're… I'm worried though." Kaylee squeaked keeping her distance. "You… you never said anything before… and-"
" what does it matter I'm Better off Dead" she said heading to the bar
"B-but Caroline…" Kaylee spoke softly, pulling away from Lucas fully. "That's not true, I… I care, and your sister… and- and Brad."
" and you'd all be better off " she said
People began to leave, leaving only Caroline, Kaylee, and Lucas standing there. "Better off what? Because you know I care, and always will. You know I'll beat myself up over this if you get hurt. In fact, I have. Anytime you get hurt, and I was there with the ability to protect you, I beat myself up over it for weeks."
She sighed walking out " I'll text you" she said and left driving off in the rain the one place she could go she knocked on the door or Thomas's house.
It was nearing midnight, all the lights seeming off in the house. Though Thomas was still awake. Coming to the door, he pulled the door open with a yawn. "What are you doing up so late?"
Caroline had tears rolling down her cheeks
Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he took one look at her and frowned. "What's wrong? Is everything alright?" He asked softly, pushing the door open more for her to come in.
She walked inside sobbing in his chest
"Hey, shhh, you wanna talk about it?" He asked her softly, rubbing circles into her back. "I can make some tea, and we can just sit and talk."
She nodded clinging into him
"Do you want to sit in the kitchen?" He asked her softly, resting his chin on the top of her head. "I'd prefer not to sit in the living room."
Pulling her along, he slid a chair out from under the table for her to sit on. "What kind of tea do you want, honey?" He asked her softly, wiping her tears away with his thumb.
"do you have peppermint?" She asked
“I do,” Thomas whispered, pulling back from her to go make the tea. “I’m assuming that’s what you want?”
She nodded sniffling some more
“I’m sorry Caroline, is there anything I can do for you?” Thomas asked softly, working in her tea.
"No I'm Alone Thomas I feel so alone" she ssid
“What’s going on? Why do you feel alone?” He asked softly, starting up the kettle with water.
"I have to go to vegas by myself because no one will go with me""she said
“By yourself? Are you positive?” He asked softly, coming back over to her. “Have you asked everyone?”
