I read an unpublished book once where the healing potion tasted like life, all at once. Bitter, spicy, sweet, painful, but mostly raw, like it was unfiltered, cause that is what life is. It burned, and it didn't taste good, but at the same time it was healing like you had to hurt, but then you would be okay.

Can everybody agree that a magic/mana potion would taste bitter? That's always how I've thought of it.

I actually imagined a mana potion as being extremely refreshing and super cold, also instantly energizing. Tastes kinda bittersweet and makes you alert and feel alive the moment you drink it. I usually think of health potions as relaxing and making people kinda sleepy for some reason
