Fun Fact #117:
ADHD brains have low levels of a neurotransmitter called norepinephrine. Norepinephrine is linked arm-in-arm with dopamine.
Dopamine is the thing that helps control the brain’s reward and pleasure center.
The ADHD brain has impaired activity in four functional regions of the brain.

Frontal Cortex

This region controls high-level functions:

-Attention
-Executive Function
-Organization
Limbic System

This region is located deeper in the brain. It regulates our emotions and attention.

Basal Ganglia

A deficiency here can cause inter-brain communication & information to “short-circuit.” That results in inattention or impulsivity.

Reticular Activating System

This is the major relay system among the many pathways that enter & leave the brain. A deficiency here can cause inattention, impulsivity, or hyperactivity.

Do you happen to know if the norepinephrine levels can also affect nerves that would lead to conditions like fibromyalgia or other neurological conditions?

Fun Fact #120

The jūnihitoe is a set of formal and highly complex kimono garments worn only by court-ladies in Japan. Translated, the term means "twelve-layer robe", however, the number of layers varies, and during the Heian period up to fifteen or twenty layers of kimono may be worn. The jūnihitoe is still worn by members of the Imperial House of Japan on important occasions.
