@Althalosian-is-the-father book

So, the rules are simple. Give your favorite author(s) and tell us why you adore them so much. I realize that you could talk on and on about all the authors you love so I constrain you to no more then five. Off you go!

@ravens

Marissa Meyer (The Lunar Chronicles, Renegades, Heartless)
Kendare Blake (Anna Dressed in Blood, Three Dark Crowns)
JK Rowling (Harry Potter)
Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, etc)
John Green (The Fault in Our Stars, Turtles all the way down, etc)
Especially Meyer and Blake. They’re my two favorite favorite authors. Read all their books, they’re really good

Rick Riordan, makes everything great and he represents LGBT+ characters perfectly
James Dashner, made the Maze Runner series great

@ravens

i can't explain things so here are the synopses

Three Dark Crowns: "In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born—three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.

But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins.

The last queen standing gets the crown."

Lunar Chronicles: "Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless Lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future."

Renegades: "Secret identities.

Extraordinary powers.

She wants vengeance. He wants justice.

The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies — humans with extraordinary abilities — who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone…except the villains they once overthrew.

Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice — and in Nova. But Nova’s allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both."

Heartless: "Long before she was the terror of Wonderland – the infamous Queen of Hearts – she was a girl who wanted to fall in love.

Catherine, may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland and a favorite of the unmarried King, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, she wants to open a shop and create delectable pastries. But for her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for a woman who could be a queen. At a royal ball where Catherine is expected to receive the King's marriagae proposal, she meets handsome and mysterious Jest. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the King and Infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into a secret courtship. Cath is determined to choose her own destiny. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans."

represents LGBT+ characters perfectly

No he doesn't, but okay

And he has no aro/ace rep at all, and chooses to make super shoehorned ships when he could have aro/ace rep

@HighPockets group

Marissa Meyer, because she has amazing books that I feel are really underappriciated.
Victoria Aveyard, because I'm Red Queen trash haters can fight me.
J.K. Rowling, because she has created one of my favorite series and literally one of my favorite movie franchises of all time.
Joan Bauer, because I love all of her teen/middle grade books that I've read.
Jennifer L. Holm, for writing 2 of my all-time favorite books.
James Patterson for his humor and range of books that he writes/publishes didn't like Maximum Ride though
Claudia Gray for writing some of my favorite Star Wars books about my favorite character of all time, and keeping her in character!!!

Also Solangelo had no buildup, Alex has no personality that doesn't stem (at least in some way) from being genderfluid, and Nico was forced out of the closet in a terrifying way that he shouldn't have had to deal with. And it especially bugs me that Rick keeps mentioning all of Apollo's boyfriends and girlfriends, but never mentions that Artemis is obviously aro-ace, and has been at least somewhere on the aro-ace spectrum in all of her incarnations (there was a story where she had a bf, but it was a guy that she knew really well so she may be demi)

More like the fact that he shoves them in to be “correct” instead of because it was a natural plot development

Red from Overly Sarcastic Productions interrupted her own video to flash the definition of Demiromantic-Asexual across the screen while discussing Artemis's love life lol

(How do you do the line?)

Two of these (~~) on each side of the sentence

Like in HoO he has like 12 main/important characters, and pretty much all of them end up in relationships. Leo should've been aro-ace, along with Thalia, Reyna, and probably others too.

@ravens

could we please not fight over Rick Riordan and his “inaccurate” LGBTQ representation and/or “bad” characters thank you
