Art! Who wants to talk about it?
Art! Who wants to talk about it?
Me!
I used to be a much bigger artist when I was younger, though.

Tell me, what are your thoughts on art style theft/ pose theft?
I say it's fine as long as you give credit where credit is due. But on an even bigger level, an artist shouldn't be copying others' styles as a habit, they should be working to come up with their own.
Yeah. I use pose and that kind of thing for reference, but I don't really copy styles.
I love art! Primarily oil and watercolor paintings, but I also do lots of charcoal and ink. I love all mediums and have been drawing practically every day for almost four years now. I'm hoping to make a career out of it. :)
That and writing of course.
Yuss! I'm going to college for conceptual art and cinematography. I'm planning on working at Lucasfilms someday.
That's awesome Lavender! Cinematography is an art form that's kind of overlooked, I think. People don't really view it as an art form, which is unfortunate, considering it's one of the most beautiful ones out there.
Truly. Animation is underrated too. Especially hand-drawn!
Art and writing are good careers to follow if you want to love your job. They don't pay much though.
Sighs and ponders my imminent poverty
Unless you get into Lucasfilms of course.
In that case, I shall be very jealous of you. :)
Animation is definitely overlooked! Hayoa Miyazaki is my favorite animator, his work is amazing! Who's yours?
I think Glen Keane. My drawing/animation teacher Mr. Stewart actually worked at Disney!
Whoa! Disney?
On another note, I have to admit that I'm kind of proud of my self for spelling Miyazaki's name right on the first try.
Sweats because I don't actually know if I spelled it right, and actually probably got it wrong, but it looks ok, so I'll pretend it is
Ack I haven't made any art in so long, I should probably start doing that again
:)
What's your favorite hand-drawn movie?
Dang, I don't know a lot of those
My favorite hand drawn movie is Princess Kaguya (Spelled wrong 'cause I don't know Japanese). It's a lesser known Studio Ghibli film, but the art is beautiful! It's animated like a water color painting.
I saw part of trailer for it when I watched Song of the Sea. I wish Dreamworks would pick up hand-drawn again.
Oh my gosh! I love Song of the sea! Have you seen their other movie, the Secret of Kells? That's one of my all time favorites. The animation is so beautiful! :)
YES!!! I'm looking forward to wolf walkers!
Wait, they're making another one? Why don't I know about this?!
